“I don’t know. Something feels wrong but he didn’t let me in. What if it’s another war Elriam? I feel anxious. I don’t like this feeling.” I tell her drinking my coffee.
“He will definitely tell you, Alpha. If not I can just force it out of Ragon.” Elriam comforts me with a wink. “Why don’t you take some breakfast to them? I think they will relax if you do.” She tells me her idea gently while I agree with a soft nod.
As the breakfast comes to an end I pack some up for Deimos and Ragon and head up the stairs walking towards the office. A sudden loud growl almost makes me drop the plates as I head closer I debate whether I should disrupt them or not until I get a insight into their conversation.
“Alpha! This is wrong. You cannot do this. You must tell her.” Ragon’s voice is calm and serious. Tell her? Who? Tell her what?
“You dare command me?” Deimos roars to which Ragon doesn’t seem to be fazed.
“You know I am right, Alpha. I am merely telling you the truth.” Ragon tells him calmly.
“She doesn’t need to know! Things are going smoothly. That is what I wanted.” Deimos replies to him. Anger simmering on the surface.
“This is unfair Alpha! Luna thinks that what you show her is your truth. Don’t hurt her further.” Ragon’s tone is getting stronger. Isn’t he talking about me? Placing the plates on the floor I move closer to the door with shaking hands.
“End of discussion! I have told you my choice don’t fight me!” Deimos’s loud voice makes me flinch as my heart beats.
“Tell her the truth, Alpha!” Ragon fights back. My heart beat increases.
“Enough!” Deimos screams. My heart beats faster.
“Tell her everything is an act! An act so she stays, so she believes you. So she bares your pups.” Ragon’s words pierces through the air right through my heart. My heart beat stops.
“I said enough! Ragon you are dismissed. Leave!” As I hear the boom of Deimos’s voice and Ragon’s footsteps coming towards me yet I make no move to leave. My mind confused, my heart in pain. I stand there with tears streaming down my face as the room swirls around me.
Slowly lifting my eyes from the ground with soft whimpers coming out my mouth I come eye to eye with Ragon whose eyes widen but drown in sadness. As he bows and leaves, Deimos comes into view. Not the Deimos I woke up in the morning with but with the Deimos who stripped me apart from my pack.
I see no guilt in his eyes as his eyes stare deep into my eyes. He watches my tears yet he makes no move to apologize or even defend himself.
“Liar,” I whisper as his hands shake. He tries to hide it by curling them into a fist but I see his every movement. “Everything… was a lie?” I ask him calmly swallowing my hiccups.
He doesn’t answer me as he clenches his jaw and his fists tighter.
“Tell me at least some of it was true. Like when you showed me your paradise. The cabin or even today when we woke up together.” I ask him lips trembling my voice shaking. He still doesn’t talk to me. He doesn’t know what to say. “Please.” I beg him. Alpha to Alpha, I beg him.
My male looks away from me indirectly answering my question as tears stream further and I sob covering my mouth with my hands. We are back to square one. I thought I could see the real Deimos but I didn’t know that I already knew him. This is the real Deimos. Cold and unmerciful. He doesn’t mind striking down anyone in his path including his moon blessed.
“I-I opened myself to you! I showed you things… things I wanted to take to my grave! I did it all for you.” I scream at him as he flinches. “You pried me open took my guts out all for what? For what Deimos?” I scream louder. Can he see my pain? The pain he brought forth.
“Some things must be done, mate. You must understand this.” He tells me calmly.
“No! No! Not this! No male would do this to their female and you… you need to understand this.” My voice booms across the halls. Perhaps the entire pack is hearing our battle. Let them know who their Alpha is. Let them know my pain that I hide with a smile.
“Why? At least tell me why?” I question him.
“I needed you to stay by my side and not leave. And for that I… I needed you to love me.” He whispers and I finally see the hint of guilt in his eyes.
I laugh. Not a happy one, a one filled with sorrow. It’s a cry for help to rescue me from all of this. “I’ll let you in on a little secret Deimos. I would have stayed no matter what you did or what you said because I lo-.” I tell him but stop. I don’t want to tell him. I don’t want him to think he won. “It doesn’t matter anymore because what you didn’t want will come true now. I will leave.” I tell him trying to control my sobs.
His eyes widen as anger consumes him he questions me. “What? Where?”
With a small smile I reply to him knowing this will anger him further and perhaps might even cause him pain. “Cronus.”
He growls to my answer as I turn around, my hand above the handle opening the door. “You are free to do as you please. Find another to take my place or let her bare you pups as you wish. I will not fight for you anymore. I am done.” I leave the room tears streaming down my face.
It’s funny how one is cursed to never find true happiness. This is my destiny. To be alone. Walking down the stairs I come face to face with Ragon and Elriam as the rest of the pack stand with their heads bowed.
“Please Luna, don’t leave. We need yo-” Ragon begins as I cut him off with my hand.
“I have fought hard and now I need to rest,” I tell him calmly as he looks down at the floor while my females whimper.
“Alpha, I will come with you.” Elriam stands head held high ready to protect me.
“You will stay here with the pack. You will protect them on my behalf. This is an order.” I command as she bows holding her tears.
“Yes, Alpha.” She answers me with a strong voice.
“Ragon will you drive?” I ask him softly as he nods.
Walking to my females I bid farewell to every one of them. “Come visit me,” I tell them softly to which they softly nod tears streaming down their face.
Looking around the castle I smile to myself so this is how everything ends. This is how I loose my long battle. I leave and my male stays. My dreams will be put to sleep forever.
This is how it all seems to end.
