We are who we are. Be it born from the grave or heaven, perhaps made by the hand of a god or goddess.
For centuries, my two brothers and I have been roaming around the earth. Passing through mighty earthquakes, storms, and mountains, searching for something that would give us meaning.
We have been called so many names by both humans, supernaturals, and other creatures of the earth. Names such as devil, wicked, gods, evil, and miracles.
We have fought wars and faced our demons over and over again. We have known all emotions that can destroy and mend a heart. Although humans choose to dwell in such foolish emotions, to us, hurt, love and hate were the same as lust, feed, and kill and it had always been like that.
My name is kathrine, I am a thousand years old but still keep my young looks. Many people judged me to be way younger than my actual age. To some, I was only a naive young lady who knew nothing of the world and that’s how I loved to be seen because I took fun in looking young.
My looks weren’t bad at all, as innocent as I looked, I had a charm that seduced the hardest of heart and a figure that made both women and men drool for. My beautiful long black hair was like silk falling to my waist, sadly I had to dye and cut it so many times to fit in. My eyes were a mesmerizing ocean blue, my lips pink and plump. As for my height, I was usually criticized by my brothers over how tall I was.
I couldn’t remember how many times I had changed my name. A hundred, perhaps a thousand times, I had no idea. But now I was going by the name of Katrina because it gave me closure to my given name.
I was a vampire and the last born of two brothers.
Will my eldest brother was a hybrid.
Most humans referred to him as a greek god blessed with a very huge built, tall height, and a charming voice. Although he was mostly cold towards everything and everyone except us, the men and women couldn’t stop throwing themselves at him.
My second eldest brother was called Ron and he was a Lycan. Although he was mostly playful and really loved to have fun, he was the most dangerous of us all. His Lycan was merciless when it came to hunting down its prey or protecting his family.
Despite that, the humans still loved his great looks and wished to get in bed with him.
I had worked so many jobs. Tasted a life of being both poor and rich. On rare occasions I made friends, sadly they all died leaving me behind. Humans were fragile creatures, They loved, killed each other, hated each other, and died. That’s why my brothers and I only looked at them as a source of food. We vowed to never get serious about them because they were the most creatures that betrayed us when they discover what we truly were.
To survive from the hunters and other creatures that wanted us dead, we learned to keep a low profile, be it parties or spending our wealth.
But once in a while when the moon was high up in the sky and full of warmth, we allowed ourselves to live like the predators we are. We killed and fed to keep what we are alive, the thrill of blood was exciting to me and very much arousing. Those were the emotions I loved to feel, and they only came when I was down on my knees sucking the very life out of my prey.
We came across so many betrayals that made us realize that the darkness in us, was way better than the light within us.
We saw so many things that the human eyes could not see and heard a lot more than any human could possibly hear. We had been hunted down by hunters for years but we survived it all and fought back. Now here we were yet again searching, searching for our purpose. But most of all, our thrill. The thrill that would satisfy our craving, lust, and life.
We were not looking for a place to belong to no. We only wanted a place that could define and fulfill our being.
And that was what we were searching for.
