Cole’s p. o. v
I stood outside the house talking to Brandon on phone while waiting for Emily to come outside with Jason and the baby.
“Are you telling me that you reconciled with your bastard brother?” He asked loudly in disbelief.
“Yes,” I answered simply then leaned against the car.
“Wait a second I put you on loudspeaker, Landon has to hear this.” He said annoying me.
“Hey Landon, it’s Cole.” He called loudly.
“Tell him to go fuck himself. I have nothing to say to that bastard, not after he left without a word.” Landon spat as I chuckled in disbelief.
How dare he say such crap when I was fucking listening to his every annoying word.
“Tell the fucker that I actually did a decent thing when I chose not to disturb your mating.” I fired back.
“Oh shit, you heard us?” Brandon asked in surprise.
“Clear as fuck Brandon, I’m an alpha just in case you have forgotten.” I answered lazily.
“Okay, fine. Say we are grateful that you didn’t disturb us, but then that doesn’t explain why the hell you did not call a day after you reached your pack?” Landon said with emphasis.
“Because I found out that my mate was pregnant and that got to my head pretty quickly, I was over the moon with joy.” I answered.
“She was pregnant?” Brandon asked loudly.
“Yes, she was.” I answered with a smile remembering the day we found out at the clinic.
“Wait, if Emily was pregnant then. That means you now have a pup right?” Brandon asked on top of his voice.
“Yes, we do. That’s one of the reasons I called you. I wanted to let you know that Emily and I now have a handsome mini me.” I answered happily.
“Congratulations man.” Landon said happily.
“Yes, congratulations.’ Brandon said as well.
“Thank you,” I answered.
“Then what was the other reason?” Landon asked.
“As I had said before Brandon put me on loudspeaker. Jason and I reconciled.” I answered.
The line instantly went quiet.
“You must be fucked up to reconcile with that piece of shit.” They said together.
I took in a deep breath and released it.
“I have my reasons. All you have to do is trust me on my decision. When you get to hear the whole story, you too will sympathize with him.” I answered.
“Fine, since that is the case, we won’t say anything more.” Brandon said.
“Emily, Jason, and I are going back to our country and pack.” I whispered hoping he wouldn’t hear and ask me other irrelevant questions.
“What do you mean you are going back to your pack, where the hell were you?” He asked.
“Please don’t ask me what I’m doing in another country because it is a very long story. So cut the story short, Jason, Emily, and I are going back to our country. Jason and I have already merged our two packs to form one, and we have decided to rule it together. Since we share one mate, we see no reason not to live together. Also, I want to invite you two and your mate to come pay us a visit next week. I will cover for everything so don’t you dare give me a fucking lame excuse for not making it.” I said seriously.
“We would have been there Cole, with or without your invitation. So expect us next week, we are looking forward to meeting your little pup and you asshole identical brother.” Landon answered.
“Okay,” I said then disconnected the call before they could say anything more.
Jason walked out of the house with a suitcase and approached me. I stood upright and looked at it with a frown.
“I thought we were done with packing.” I said with a chuckle.
“Mm, I thought the same too, guess we were wrong.” He answered then moved to the car’s boot and opened it.
“What is Emily still doing?. We have an hour to get to the airport.” I said seriously as I glanced at my wrist watch.
He shut the boot and shrugged when I looked at him.
“She’s obviously saying her final goodbye to her mother. You know, I kind of feel bad that Grace and Teresa decided to remain. Emily wanted them to come with us. She was looking forward to that.” I said in a low tone.
“I feel the same way too, but we have to understand that those two women have their own satisfying life right here.” He answered.
I was about to tell him how people change when she came out of the house. On her left was Teresa who looked very sad, and on her right was Grace who was lifting our little Czar in her arms.
When they reached where I was they both looked at me.
“If only you could have stayed a little longer.” Grace whispered.
I swallowed hard and cleared my throat.
“I’m sorry mother, but we can’t. Our people do need us and their Luna.” I answered honestly.
“Mother, we have to go.” Emily said in a cracked voice.
Jason moved closer and opened the backdoor for her.
“I will miss my little grandson.” Grace whispered then kissed his forehead gently and handed him to Emily.
“You should come and visit us soon, all you have to do is call us and let us know that you want to come over.” Jason said.
Teresa sighed loudly then forced a smile across her face.
“We will.” She answered.
“Emily, get in.” I whispered.
She looked at Grace for a few minutes then turned and got in the car.
Jason closed the door and went around the car to get into the driver’s seat as well.
“I already said my goodbyes yet my heart still feels heavy. I hope you will visit us soon, the both of you.” I whispered then turned and opened the front door.
I got in the passenger’s seat and closed the door.
Grace forced a smile on her face as tears filled her eyes.
I looked in the rearview mirror and noticed that Emily was sobbing silently.
“My love, it will be alright. You will still get to see her soon.” I said softly in hopes of comforting her.
She met my gaze in the mirror and nodded with a smile.
“Jason,” I called softly.
“Alright, let’s get going.” He answered then started the car and drove off.
I was dying to step out of the car and climb behind with her. My guess was that Jason felt the same way too. I could feel her sadness even without words and that made me feel bad.
