Beca’s p. o. v
We sat quietly eating at the table, no one was talking or looking at anyone. Cobi and I were okay, but I wasn’t so sure if he was okay with Rhoyda for drugging him. And what’s sad was that I took a part in it.
“Are we all not going to talk to one another?” Ken asked softly.
“I can’t remember shit.” Cobi whispered under his breath.
Rhoyda put her folk down and sighed loudly.
“I’m sorry, it was all my fault.” She answered softly.
Cobi put his folk down as well and looked at her.
“Not only do I have a slight headache that can’t seem to go away, I can’t think straight. What you did wasn’t right alpha, you drugging Ken is one thing, but you drugging me is another thing.” He said seriously as Rhoyda looked at me with a raised brow.
I swallowed hard and took in a deep breath then released it.
“Actually, Rhoyda drugged Ken. But as for you, I was the one that asked her to add wolfsbane in your beer.” I answered.
He shifted and faced me with a shocked expression.
“Why would you do that?” He asked through our mind link.
“I wanted to see how you would act when you got drunk. I also wanted us to have some fun and let loose, I wanted us to enjoy the night.” I answered honestly.
He sighed loudly then held my hand on the table.
“Baby next time you want to do something like that, give me a heads-up okay. I don’t like waking up without any memories of what had happened. If you wanted me drunk, I could have drunk and got wasted with just a little wolfsbane, I wouldn’t have reached to the extent of forgetting shit or hurting you.” He said seriously.
I sighed softly then nodded.
“I’m sorry, next time I won’t act without letting you know.” I answered softly.
“And you alpha, next time don’t drug me, I would rather my mate does it with her hand.” He said then picked up the folk with his free hand and continued eating.
“I’m sorry.” She whispered as he sighed again.
“It’s okay, I guess you saw exactly what you wanted to see.” He answered.
Rhoyda glanced at Ken for a second then picked up her fork and began eating.
“Hey man are you okay?” Cobi asked Ken.
He looked up and nodded.
“You don’t look that good to me.” Cobi pointed out.
“I have a slight headache as well.” Ken answered.
“Let me make something for you that will soothe away your hangover.” Rhoyda said then stood up, excused herself, and left the room.
Cobi glanced at me with a frown then looked at my food.
“Why aren’t you eating?” He asked with a raised brow.
“I’m not hungry.” I answered simply.
He shook his head slightly then put his folk down.
“Are you feeling nauseous?” He asked surprising me.
“No,” I answered.
“Headache?” He asked.
“No, I’m just not hungry.” I answered.
He lifted a glass of juice from the table and moved it to my lips.
“At least drink a little bit.” He whispered.
I leaned in and took a sip from the glass.
“Have some more.” He insisted when I swallowed.
I took another sip and swallowed.
The drink was cold and sweet, exactly how I liked it.
“Is there something you would like to eat?” He asked as I frowned.
“I will cook it for you.” He said shocking me.
“You can cook?” I asked in disbelief.
“Of course, would you like to taste my cooking?” He asked softly as I smiled happily.
There was just no way I was going to reject such an offer
“Yes, I actually feel very hungry.” I lied making him laugh.
“Here, take another sip.” He said softly.
I took another sip happily and looked at Ken who was watching us seriously.
“What?” I asked.
“It’s good to see you this happy and very much in love.” He answered.
“Well, the same goes to you too.” I said simply.
“By the way Cobi, I too I’m a great cook.” He said as Cobi smiled widely.
“Should we cook together for the ladies and show them how it’s done?” He asked.
“Damn right, let’s wreak havoc in the kitchen.” He answered with soft laughter.
Rhoyda came back with two cups in her hands.
She put one in front of Ken and another in front of Cobi.
“Drink.” She said seriously.
Cobi put the glass of drink down and picked up the cup she had brought.
“What’s in here?” He asked curiously.
“Warm water, mixed with honey and lemon juice.” She answered.
“Are you sure it works on hangovers?” Ken asked.
“Yes, it’s a hot toddy that works perfectly well to treat a hangover.” She answered.
“Fine, I’ll take mine.” Cobi said then drunk from it.
“How does it taste like?” I asked in a whisper.
“Okay.” He answered then drank some more..
“See.” She said as she sat down next to Ken.
“It tastes a little bit funny to me.” Ken said under his breath but continued to drink.
“So….., are you guys going back to your pack?” Rhoyda asked seriously.
I gazed at Cobi waiting to hear his decision.
“Yes, we can’t be gone for too long, the Warriors can’t fully manage the whole pack by themselves.” He answered.
“I see. Then what time are you starting off?” She asked.
“Right after we cook for you ladies.” He answered.
“Wait, you guys want to cook for us?” She asked on top of her voice.
“Yes, we would like to spoil you a little as you spoil us.” Ken answered.
“I’m so excited, I can’t wait.” Rhoyda exclaimed happily then looked at me.
“I too can’t wait as well.” I answered.
Cobi was about to stand and move his plate when I quickly stood up and picked it up. a
“You sit I’ll do this.” I said then went to the sink to wash the plate.
“Are you okay?” Cobi asked through our mind link.
“Yes,” I answered.
“Please don’t lie to me.” He said.
“I am very tired and a bit sore. I didn’t sleep much at night.” I answered honestly.
He moved from his seat and walked to me.
He swept me off of my feet and turned to look at Ken and Rhoyda.
“I’ll be right back to cook, for now, I want to make sure that my mate is well-rested and okay.” He said then turned and walked out before they could respond.
