Cole’s p. o. v
I reached Jason’s pack in the afternoon and packed my car a bit further from his border.
I got out and went straight ahead. I wasn’t going to waste time in finding out the truth about everything. I wanted to know if that bastard was telling the truth or lying.
“I could sense the truth from him.” Ace whispered as he masked our scent.
“I want to hear it from my sister Ace. Rhoyda can never lie to me face to face no matter what.” I answered then walked past the border.
I went directly to the pack house and got in, ignoring the pack members who were bowing to show respect.
I went straight to Jason’s bedroom and walked in. A sigh escaped me as I moved to the bed and touched the sheets.
The room brought back memories of Emily. Then she was laying on the bed waiting for Jason when I came in and saw how beautiful she was.
“Jason, we searched and searched but found nothing. No clue or trace, I’m sorry, that’s why I want to ask you to let Ken off. Please.” Rhoyda’s voice came from behind.
I slowly stood upright.
“Jason,” She called softly.
I hesitantly turned and faced her. She looked different, she really grew up into a very beautiful woman.
She quickly took in a sharp breath.
“Cole,” She whispered as I smiled.
“Hello sister, it’s been long.” I answered with extended hands.
When a minute went by without her stepping forward.
I frowned and dropped my hands.
“Rhoyda, it’s me. I get that you must be in shock because you thought I was dead. But I’m alive. Look at me.” I said softly as I took a step forward.
She took a few steps backward and lifted her hand.
“What did you do to Jason?” She asked seriously confusing me.
“Rhoyda, why are you asking about him?” I asked back.
“I know about everything Cole. How you kidnaped Emily against her will and how you wanted to make Jason suffer for killing our parents and almost killing you.” She answered shocking me.
“Rhoyda, you knew?” I asked in disbelief.
“I did Cole, I knew everything.” She answered.
I angrily moved and grabbed her hand tightly as she stood still.
“So you stood there and watched as our brother stab me then went on to burn our pack house to ashes?” I asked loudly.
“Alpha, what are you doing to her.” A man’s voice came from the stairs.
When the man stood at the entrance I raised a brow.
I remembered the man very well. He was Ken, my late father’s beta.
“Is it because we failed to find your mate!. Are you going to hurt your own sister for that?” He asked loudly.
“Ken shut up.” She ordered coldly.
“No I won’t, you are my mate Rhoyda that’s why I won’t stand by and let him hurt you like this.” He said loudly as a smirk formed across my face.
That’s all I needed to know.
I pushed her roughly to the wall and walked towards Ken.
“Kneel,” I commanded strongly.
He slowly moved and clenched his hands in fist. As much as he tried to fight my command it was of no use. He fell to the ground with a low growl.
I moved behind him and placed my hand on his neck, making sure my claws were slightly piercing his skin.
Rhoyda got to her feet with a bruised hand and looked at me with widened eyes.
“Shall we try the game of truth and dare sis. If I ask a question and you lie, you dare me to injure your mate. And believe me when I say that I know when you do lie sis.” I said seriously.
She looked at Ken sadly then back at me.
“Fine, Ask.” She answered.
“First question. What exactly happened years back when our parents were alive?. What did they do in secret?” I asked seriously.
She sighed then folded her arms.
“He told you the truth didn’t he?” She asked as I moved my claws and pushed them further in his flesh.
He groaned loudly but sat still.
“Fine, I’ll tell you everything.” She said loudly.
“Good, you can now begin.” I whispered.
“So, I think you know most of it by now. Out parents, the alpha and Luna hated Jason a lot. They saw him as a disappointment and disgrace, to be precise, they wanted him dead, but Jason couldn’t die. So they began torturing our brother. They shoved silver needles in his head and legs as means of punishment whenever he was found with you. They starved him almost all the time that I had to sacrifice my share of food to him. They hated hearing him call them mother or father, they only allowed him to do that when you were around. They hit him badly and threatened me to keep my mouth shut. On rare occasions, he was locked up in the dark basement for no reason. A few elders knew about their sick mental ways, yet they did nothing because they feared for their lives. Then one day, they broke Jason down and made him lose it. He began planning your death Cole and I couldn’t stop him. He wanted to take your place and gain their affection as well as their acknowledgment. But it all went wrong. The rogues killed our parents and you died… well we thought you did. But you were so very much alive.” She said sadly.
I couldn’t detect any lie from her and that made my heart ache.
“What the fuck are you talking about Rhoyda.” Ken asked in a loud voice as I weakly stepped away from him and leaned against the wall.
“So, he really went through all that?” I asked under my breath.
“Yes, he did, if you don’t believe me you can ask the elders of our pack.” She answered softly.
“Why didn’t you tell me back then?” I asked as a lump formed in my throat.
“Jason warned me off. He wanted you protected for some reason. He didn’t want our parents to turn against you or you against them. It was stupid of him to do that, but he loved you a lot.” She answered.
“What’s going on here!” Ken screamed on top of his voice.
I moved and walked to the entrance.
“Are you going to kill him?” She asked sadly.
“I don’t know. And Ken, you can move freely” I commanded then walked out of the room with tears in my eyes.
Everything I knew from the past wasn’t the truth. My amazing parents were nothing but monsters.
They did all that to my poor brother and pretended to love him. They mentally twisted him and made him lose his reason and sanity. They were to blame for everything. Not him or her.
