Rhoyda’s p. o. v
“Emily!”
“Emily!” Jason’s panicking, loud voice instantly woke me up.
My heart was beating rapidly for some reason. It was very rare hearing Jason sound this scared and panicked.
I quickly stood from the bed, wore my bedroom slippers, and rushed out of my room in my sleeping robe.
“Alpha please come down.” ken’s voice came from upstairs.
I quickly rushed there and found Jason’s bedroom door open. I walked in slowly while looking around
Jason was moving back and forth while ken was beside him trying to calm down.
“What’s going on?” I asked loudly.
Jason turned and faced me with tears in his eyes threatening to fall.
“I can’t find Emily anywhere.” He said in a cracked voice.
“Is that why you are screaming on top of your voice startling every sleeping pack member?” I asked seriously.
He moved closer and stood in front of me. His strong alpha pheromones being emitted making me tense and ken to fall down to his knees while trying to calm his laboured breath.
“I can’t find my fucking mate, and I can’t sense her in this fucking pack.” He growled loudly as his eyes slowly began turning into a red shade. His wolf was about to resurface.
I quickly held his hand in mine.
“Calm down Jason, Please.” I begged softly then glanced at ken who was on the ground still struggling to breathe.
The fact that he was powerlessly submitting to Jason by force made my heart ache. I wanted him to submit only to me and no one else.
“Ken inform our warriors on what is going on. Split them in three groups and let them search the entire pack and outside our pack’s bolder.” I ordered.
He quickly stood up with a slight bow and rushed outside.
I went to the door, shut it closed, and faced Jason.
“Tell me everything, what happened?.” I asked Seriously.
“I’m not supposed to be standing here explaining shit to you. I’m supposed to be out there looking for my fucking mate!” He growled furiously starling me.
I took in a deep breath and released it. Getting angry and yelling at him would only upset his wolf even more. And his wolf would undoubtedly take out his anger on me.
“Where were you and where was she?” I asked quickly.
He glared at me coldly then sighed loudly.
“He took her Rhoyda. That bastard took her. I sensed his presence in the training field. He was watching me from afar.” He whispered as tears rolled on his cheeks.
He really wasn’t making sense at all. As it was, we were running out of time. If she was taken by the rogues then we were to act quickly.
“You mean rogues?” I asked.
He angrily faced up and pointed a finger at me.
“Don’t fuck with me!. Stop playing dumb!. Rogues have scent, if she was taken by them I could have picked up their fucking scent by now!” He yelled on top of his voice scaring me.
It was rare seeing Jason this furious.
“Maybe she stepped out for fresh…”
“At this hour, without me her fucking mate by her side!” He screamed furiously then turned and lifted the bed flipping it. I closed my eyes and took in a deep breath.
“Stand down,” I warned my wolf in silence who was more than ready to fight him off if he dared to disrespect us more than he was doing.
“Then who is he!” I screamed back.
“Cole!” He said coldly.
My knees instantly weakened.
“No Jason, Cole died years ago. Stop filling your head with stupid imaginations. Your fear is the one talking as it is.” I said loudly then screamed in pain when he grabbed me by the hand and pushed me against the wall roughly.
“How sure are you that he died. I thought about it a lot, even now. I’m not sure if he really was dead. So answer me dear sister, If not him then who would take my mate without leaving their scent behind or any trace?. I was far away in the human world to have anyone hold a grudge or want me dead.” He growled loudly.
His eyes were pure dark red and his wolf was totally in control.
“We can’t have him disrespect us like this.” My wolf growled in warning.
“Remember Jason, you stabbed cole in the heart and saw him burn in our pack house. He had no strength to crawl out of that shit hole. So believe me when I tell you that cole is dead. He only lives in the guilt that you feel.” I whispered huskily in fear.
I knew what Jason’s wolf was capable of. And witnessed how brutal and bloodthirsty it became whenever it lost its reason. If I was to stand and fight, I would easily lose my life.
He took a step back as his eyes turned back to their usual color.
“I’m sorry Rhoyda, You are right. We both saw him pass out in flames. No one could survive that.” He said softly.
“Yes. We promised each other to never, ever speak of this remember?. You run away in guilt for years and chose to shut yourself out. But now things are different. You have the pack that you have always wanted to run since then, and it’s finally yours. Cole can’t stand in your way because he is dead, he is just a memory. So pull yourself together and act like the alpha that we all look up to and respect.” I said softly.
“If she was really taken by rogues, then be assured that we will find them. They won’t be stupid as to harm her because we all know how they are. They will want something in exchange for her life.” I said then swallowed hard.
“Do you think they want revenge for using them in the past without holding my word?” He asked.
I took a step in front of him and held his hands in mine.
“Our deal was simple with them. They were to distract our parents and warriors giving you enough time to kill Cole. Then when you were to step up as alpha, you were to give them half of the land. But everything went wrong when the flames erupted, they betrayed us, Jason, they killed our parents. If it’s revenge then we should be the ones revenging.” I said seriously.
“You are right.” He said with a low sigh.
“Now, allow me to change my clothes. You and I are going to let our wolves run free like we did in the past. We will find those bastard rogues and tear them limb by limb until they lead us exactly to where they are keeping Emily.” I said seriously as he smirked.
It had been long since we suppressed our need to kill and hunt. Now we were going to embrace it once more and prove why we were once feared and known.
