Mia’s P. o. v
“Are you okay?” Emily asked in concern. “You’ve been sighing for the past few hours.” She said softly next to me.
“Well yes. I don’t know where the twins went and I miss them a lot.” I answered honestly then glanced at her.
She had a smile plastered on her face.
“What?” I asked in a whisper.
“I feel the very same way with Cole, I miss him so much and I’m worried about him. It’s not like him to leave like that without a word. But for some reason, I completely trust in him.” She answered.
“That’s how the mate bonds work. You are mated to him right?” I asked curiously.
“Yes, I am.” She answered as her smile grew wider.
“How was your first night together, and how was the marking?” I asked seriously.
She sighed then pulled a strand of hair backward.
“Our first night together wasn’t as beautiful as our second time. Our second time was amazing and magical, as for the marking, he marked me twice. See?” She said as she pulled up her hair.
I stopped walking and turned to look at her mark carefully on each side.
No matter how I saw it, the two marks she had were slightly different.
“Were you marked by Alpha Cole on both sides?” I asked just to be sure.
“Yes. Why?” She asked back.
“Well, I don’t mean to sound disrespectful to you Luna Emily, but the markings on each side look slightly different. It’s like it was made by two different people who are very similar in some way.” I answered as she frowned deeply.
“What do you mean?” She asked seriously.
“Tell her, both her marks look like they were made by identical twin alphas.” Ayira said as I frowned.
Why did she want me to say such a horrible thing to her?
“Mia, what’s wrong?” She asked in concern.
“It’s just that my wolf thinks that your marks were made by identical twins. She thinks you are mated to twin alphas, like me.” I answered.
She kept quiet for a second then burst out in laughter.
“You are so funny, both you and your wolf. I’m not mated to any identical twins. Just Cole okay.” She answered then let go of her hair.
I was about to explain how suspicious her different marks really looked when I picked up the scent I despised the most.
The female twin alphas were approaching our pack.
“Emily run to the pack house now.” I said seriously then turned to face the pack’s border.
“Why?” She asked loudly.
“Just do it please, run to the pack house and lock the doors.” I answered.
“Now!” I exclaimed.
“Okay.” She answered then quickly turned and rushed to the pack house.
“They sure have guts, coming back to the pack when the twins aren’t around.” I spat.
“They are here for you.” Ayira answered surprising me.
“What, why me?” I asked in shock.
“Because you took everything from them.” She answered as I walked straight ahead.
“I took nothing of theirs. All I did was protect what was rightfully mine.” I answered strongly.
“Are you sure?” She asked in an annoying voice.
“I am more than sure, so stop telling me that.” I answered seriously.
“Let me handle them.” She whispered proudly.
“No,” I answered then stopped moving when I saw them approaching.
They were running towards me at a quick pace, their every step lifting a lot of dust.
“Call me when you need me.” Ayira said mockingly then retreated into our subconscious.
I stood there with cold feet not knowing what to do as the female alphas got closer. Their loud growls and sneers were threatening.
My throat was dry and my hands slightly trembling.
I was never in a fight with any high-ups. And seeing how they weren’t stopping meant they were here for my blood.
When they reached closer they slowed down their pace and approached me slowly.
It was too late to run away. Even if I was to try, they would tear me to pieces in just a second.
I watched in fear as they began circling me.
“They want you to be very scared before tearing down into your flesh.” Ayira whispered as I swallowed hard.
Well, it was working, I was scared. Scared of them, a lot.
“I’m scared.” I said silently to her.
“Then let me out.” She answered.
“How?” I asked.
“Like this.” She answered as she pulled me back and took over.
I could see the female alphas still surrounding us, and I could feel that I was still in my body. But I completely had no control over anything. All I could do was watch, is this how Ayira felt and lived?.
“I’m bored morons, you circling me won’t change a damn thing. Are you upset because your sweet pack was ripped into chores. If that’s the case then my mates should have ripped you two apart as well.” She spat proudly.
One of the female alpha growled loudly and jumped on us tackling us to the ground, she was about to sink her teeth into our shoulder when our eyes glowed.
Ayira surprisingly grabbed the she-wolf by the ears and headbutt it.
The female alpha growled loudly and backed away while shaking its head slightly.
I was in shock because that blow wasn’t even painful to us.
“You both are beneath us.” Ayira spat furiously.
The female alphas both attacked on each side, both jumping to tear us in shreds.
Ayira lifted her hands in mid-air as a strong wind began to blow. The female alphas weirdly fell down as if there was a wall that was protecting us.
“What are you doing.” I whispered in shock as the wind picked up and it began to get dusty.
“Playing a mind game.” She whispered back.
In just a second the dust rose covering the whole area.
We couldn’t see the two female alphas around.
“Now we hunt.” She whispered.
I was about to ask what she meant but stopped and groaned in pain when our bones started breaking and rearranging themselves.
My head felt like it was splitting in half and my ribs felt like they were bursting open.
Ayira was quiet while I was panting and trying so hard not to scream.
“Most wolves go into extreme pain when it’s their first shift, and it takes time. But you and I are different.” She whispered as the pain got intense.
“Ahhhh.” I screamed out.
Then stopped when the pain instantly subsided.
“Wh… ah…. what happened?” I asked huskily.
“This.” She answered then moved.
I gasped when I felt a cold breeze spread past our body.
“Wait are we…..?” I trailed off when she began running.
“Yes.” She answered then slowed down her pace.
I could feel it and see our amazing paws and golden fur. We really were beautiful.
I was about to mention how beautiful it felt to finally shift when she jumped on one of the female alphas who looked lost in front of us.
The Alpha sneered and she was about to snap her teeth at us when Ayira bite down on her neck, ripping her flesh open, the female alpha whimpered a bit then went quiet.
Shock was the only thing that went in my mind as I watched the blood flow from her open fresh wound.
Ayira moved from her lifeless body and slowly moved to our left.
How could she see in such wind and dust. How did she even know that one of the female alphas was there?
“It’s all in their head, I can’t clearly see and smell them.” She answered as the whole environment cleared up.
There was no wind or dust anymore. But to the female alphas, they saw what she made them see.
She was about to attack the other female alpha when she quickly turned and bite into our shoulder.
Ayira growled furiously in pain and lifted our paw, hitting the female alpha right in her face.
The female alpha moved back with a clawed bleeding face and growled loudly then turned and rushed back towards the pack border.
Ayira stood still not following her.
“She’s getting away.” I screamed ignoring the slight pain in our shoulder.
“I know.” She answered.
“Stop her!” I exclaimed.
“No, they will take care of her.” She answered.
“Who?” I asked.
Right there and then the twins and Cole appeared from the woods ahead.
The female alpha slowed down her pace and turned to get back to where I was but stopped when she saw us waiting for her.
She quickly turned back and charged at the twins.
Zane and Blake wasted no time in bitting and ripping her apart while Cole watched.
Ayira was head over heels in love and so proud of their brutal killing.
