Tension.
I could feel it between us all as we run towards the female Alphas’ pack in our wolf form.
None of us had talked about a plan and we didn’t need one, because killing to us came naturally.
When we reached their border we slowed down our pace observing the environment.
It was quiet and no warrior was patrolling for some reason.
I shifted back to my human form and knelt with one knee near a huge tree.
“What do you think?” Brandon asked through our mind link.
“I think they are busy doing their usual work and chores.” I answered in a whisper for Cole to hear too.
Cole growled loudly then rushed ahead before we could stop him.
“Fuck!” Brandon yelled through our mind link and went after him.
“Shit,” I whispered under my breath.
Since when were we never a team?. We attacked together, killed together, moved together. Cole was ruining everything because of his damn anger and it was going to cost us somehow.
I heard a loud howl that sounded like a warning. There and then I knew that one of the pack warriors or members was alerting the others of our ambush.
“Zane,” I called just to be sure that he was in it as much as I was.
“They are our brothers, they need us.” He answered seriously.
“Damn it.” I whispered as I shifted in my wolf form and run past the pack’s border.
The first thing I picked up was the fresh scent of blood, then loud whimpers and growls ahead.
“Damn it, Landon where the fuck are you, Cole is doing shit his own way. I’m trying to have his back but he is being reckless.” Brandon yelled furiously through our mind link.
“On my way.” I answered then halted my movements when I saw a few she-wolves and their pups running towards me.
When they figured out who I was. They stopped in their tracks and quickly took a step back.
I approached them slowly as they went down to their knees and beared their necks in submission.
Then I used to kill everyone and everything without remorse or reason. But now looking at how vulnerable the she-wolves and pups were. I couldn’t bring myself to do it again.
I huffed then picked up my pace and ran ahead.
When Brandon and Cole came in view I slowed down.
Cole was surrounded by a group of warriors and he was fighting back furiously, tearing anyone that took a step forward. Most of them were injured but they couldn’t back down.
Brandon was fighting the beta and a few of the deltas.
I was about to rush to Cole when I notice the alpha ahead running with his two daughters in their wolf form.
The bastard was crazy, how could he choose to run away leaving his pack members and warriors behind when he was an alpha!.
Alphas were suppose to be a symbol of strength, leadership, pride, and protection. A selfish bastard like him didn’t deserve to run such a pack.
I rushed towards him and reached him in time tickling him to the ground.
He quickly rolled to the sides and stood up with a loud growl while his two daughters continued running without even glancing behind.
It looked like it was in their blood to be selfish.
We circled each other with snarls observing each other’s body movement.
The alpha wasn’t as weak as his human form appeared to be. His wolf was emitting dominance and anger.
But luckily Zane and I took out and killed a lot like him, as strong as they looked, they were mostly flawed in a few things.
They rushed to attack without thinking, they aimed for the neck to have a quick kill and they had so much pride in themselves that they saw their victory before they could even win.
The Alpha growled loudly then attacked me by jumping on me and scratching my hand.
I shifted to the side and turned into my human form.
I didn’t need Zane to take out such a man, I was good in my own form.
He growled again and leaped on me. This time I embraced his attack as he tackled me to the ground and aimed for my neck.
I moved my arm to block his bite as he sunk his teeth in.
I flinched in pain then smirked. He was doing exactly as I had predicted, moreover I loved the pain because it pissed me off in order to unleash my full anger and potential.
I moved my free hand and thrust my claws into the side of his ribs earning a low whimper from him.
He quickly stepped back and growled again as I stood up ignoring my injury.
“I’m getting bored playing with you Alpha.” I said mockingly.
He growled loudly then attacked, this time when he leaped in mid-air. I folded my hand in a fist and aimed for his chest with all my strength.
One blow made him fall down with a loud howl.
I knew I had broken a few bones in him and I didn’t care at all.
He shifted in his human form as he struggled to breathe properly. He was gazing at the sky while guggling loudly.
I walked to him and stood next to him.
“You sent us witches who tried to kill us for an alliance. That kind of pissed us off.” I whispered.
He was about to say something when I lifted my leg and stamped his neck-breaking it.
“You don’t get to talk nor live for your mistake.” I whispered then leaned in lazily as his eyes rolled up.
“Just to make sure you don’t recover.” I whispered as I lifted my hand and slit his throat deeply.
“Landon,” Brandon called through our mind link.
“Yes brother.” I answered as I stood upright.
“Did you come across the female alphas?” He asked in a labored breath.
“I did, they escaped.” I answered.
“They did what!. And you let them?” He asked on top of his voice.
“Well yes I did. Have you forgotten how much fun it is to hunt?” I asked while walking to where he was.
He stood in his human form next to Cole covered in blood, a lot of dead bodies were on the ground scattered.
“Did you kill everyone?” I asked in concern.
For some reason I wanted them to spare the kids and women.
“No, we only killed the strong men of the pack. We had no business with weaklings.” Brandon answered as I breathed out in relief.
“You guys have grown soft.” Cole whispered before shifting to his wolf form.
“Whatever, let’s just hunt them down.” Brandon spat then shifted to his wolf form as I did too.
