I sat a bit further away from Emily as Mia knelt down in front of her explaining everything there was to know about my kind. I too would believe her if I had no idea about my kind because she was so convincing.
“So you are saying that the man back then wasn’t dead?” Emily asked softly.
“No, he was just unconscious. You do know that our kind are different from yours right?. We are quicker, faster, and stronger. Besides having sharp hearing, our ability to heal is pretty impressive. Do you want me to show you an example?” She asked loudly.
Before Emily could respond, Mia moved her claw to her wrist and slowly made a small cut which wasted no time in healing.
Emily glanced at me then back at her.
“Um… I see that, but if it’s not too much to ask, can I see the man?” She asked.
My heart instantly picked up. How were we going to turn her down nicely.
“Sure you can, but for now the man is recovering and it will take a few days for him to be able to talk or open his eyes. Also please keep a distance from him when you do go to his ward. He turns to be violent more than the rest of the warriors, that’s why he attacked Alpha Cole without hesitation.” Mia answered surprising me.
The lady was amazingly good at lying.
“But he wasn’t the only one that had attacked Cole, that other guy with golden eyes …”
“That man is our beta, it’s his duty to look after everything when our alphas aren’t around or busy. My mates didn’t inform him in time over your visit, so when he saw you, he thought of you as a threat. I’m really sorry for that.” She whispered softly cutting her off
“It’s okay. I understand clearly.” Emily whispered back then moved to where I was and sat next to me leaning against my shoulder.
“I’m so sorry over how I had reacted earlier.” She whispered sadly.
I moved my hand and pulled her in my embrace.
“It’s okay my love, you were scared over everything, I too should have held back. But then I got very upset over his disrespect.” I answered then glanced at Mia and the twins with a smirk.
“Um… Emily, if you don’t mind can I give you a tour of our pack?” She asked.
Emily pulled back and looked at me as if waiting for my approval.
“You can go, just mind link me when you want to talk or need me.” I said.
“Okay…..” She trailed off, then moved and kissed my lips lightly surprising me.
“I love you.” She whispered.
I leaned in and kissed her forehead.
“I love you too honey, now go.” I answered softly.
She nodded as she stood up and walked to Mia.
“Let’s go.” She said softly as Mia smiled.
“Alright. The first stop is my room.” Mia announced playfully then walked out with her.
I shifted my gaze to the twins only to find them staring at me with shocked expressions.
“What?” I asked lazily.
“Oh shit. Were you cheesy just now?” Brandon asked mockingly.
“Corny as Fuck.” Landon teased with a chuckle.
“Cut the bullshit you two. It’s not like you aren’t the same with your mate. I’m sure you do say such shit as well.” I spat then stood up.
“Fine we admit, we are kind of soft towards her.” He answered.
I sighed then moved while I looked around.
“So Mia is a golden wolf?. To me, she doesn’t look all that, to be specific she looks weak.” I pointed out then turned with a frown when I felt the change of aura in the room.
Both of them were giving me serious murderous looks.
“Do you fuckers want to kill me for speaking the truth?” I asked seriously.
“Well, it’s good to see you still have your annoying touch, asshole.” Landon spat.
“Yeah, you too bastard.” I answered then brushed my hand through my hair.
“So tell me, why am I here and what exactly did I miss?” I asked seriously.
“Do take a sit, Cole.” Brandon said as he walked to his chair and sat down behind his desk.
“No, I’m good.” I answered honestly.
“Fine, so you already know about Mia and what she is.” He said.
“Stop wasting time Brandon. I have no time for games.” I spat seriously.
“Two female alphas were offered to us by our neighboring pack, at first we rejected them because we saw no use in entertaining such crap when we had Mia. But then she pissed us off and we decided to accept the female alphas in exchange for an alliance. Everything went well and Mia was provoked. Unfortunately, our attraction to those female alphas was growing by the day and it became weird for us. How could we want them so much and yet be in love with our mate? Something was wrong. And fair enough we found out that they had a few charms with them. We injured them and wanted them dead but Mia asked us to let them go and so we did. That charm was too powerful that it hurt the three of us badly.” Landon said.
It was obvious what he wanted, it was sure as hell predictable.
“Let me guess. You want us to take the pack down and slaughter every last one of them?” I asked with a raised brow.
“Fuck yeah, unless you want to sit this one out then Brandon and I will have all the fun to ourselves.” He answered.
I smirked as I folded my arms.
“It has been so long since I had such fun. Moreover, a blood bath sounds fucking awesome. If you two can find a way to distract my mate and keep her safe then I will gladly walk beside you brothers.” I answered happily.
“Consider it done,” Brandon answered then stood up.
“Although do tell us a bit about your mate. We both noticed that she had different mate marks on each side of her neck. Was she already mated to some other werewolf?” Brandon asked.
I walked to the small whiskey table and grabbed the bottle.
“She was mated to my brother Jason for some fucking reason, but once I eliminate him, she will only belong to me.” I answered seriously while I opened the bottle and gulped the whole content down.
