Mia’s p. o. v
“Mia please say something. Are you upset with me?” He asked huskily as tears filled my eyes.
A Golden wolf he said. So there was really such a thing.
Why would the elders think of me as such a powerful Werewolf. I was an Omega who bent to each and every high up’s order or command. What exactly did they want from me?.
“I… I don’t know what to say. Everything seems very hard and impossible to take in.” I answered.
He leaned in and kissed my forehead gently then pulled me in his arms.
“I too was in shock and I tried to deny it,” he said softly.
I pulled back and took a step back.
Part of me was very scared of his said words. It was as if the elders wanted me dead. But then again there was no way Brandon and Landon Would never let them or their children’s, children live. It was a risk to take but if it was the only way to know what I truly was then I was going to go through with it.
“I’ll drink the poison,” I said seriously.
He froze for a minute without a word.
“What the fuck did you just say?” He asked on top of his voice.
“I said that I’ll do it,” I answered a little loudly.
“No,” He said surprising me.
“What?” I asked with a frown.
“You heard me, Mia, I said no. I won’t let you risk your precious life over fucking bullshit. There is just no way I’m going to let you feel unbearable pain nor die.” He growled loudly startling me.
The bedroom door opened and Landon walked in.
“What’s going on here?” He asked after staring at us for a few seconds.
“I was just from telling Brandon that I will gladly drink the poison from the elders.” I answered honestly.
“Well, that’s a good decision.” Landon answered surprising me.
I wasn’t expecting him to be as angry as Brandon was. But hearing him agree to it without hesitation made me feel horrible. I couldn’t help but feel rejected somehow.
Brandon glared at Landon seriously.
“What?. Aren’t you curious to know if our mate is as powerful as the elders think she is?. Because I am. We both know what she did back there in the office was unbelievable. She needs to know what kind of wolf she has and what she is capable of doing. That way we can help her start early in training.” Landon said seriously.
“Looking at you right now makes me not believe we share the same face!” Brandon spat furiously.
“What the hell did you just say brother?” Landon asked angrily.
“You heard me, Landon. And I meant every word, is it that you want me to repeat the same words?” He asked coldly.
“All this just because of the poison she has to take?” Landon asked.
“It took us years to meet our mate and a few more to wait for her to grow up into a fine lady. Although we lived in shadows and avoided her gaze. We cared a lot about her. We did our level best to protect her, from anything and anyone that might hurt her, all because we loved her and still do.” He spat as my heart instantly picked up.
“Seeing her in pain hurts us as well, bonded or not. How can you agree so easily over her taking the poison that might affect her badly. What if she’s not a golden wolf as the elders think?. Will her normal omega wolf heal her?. Because we know damn well how an omega’s ability is limited. She can end up being in a worse state or dead!. How would we live with ourselves!” He screamed on top of his voice.
My wolf was purring happily and the tears in my eyes were threatening to fall.
His confession wasn’t romantic at all. But it touched my heart. Knowing how much he cared and wanted to protect me made me the happiest she-wolf in the pack.
Landon sighed softly then turned and faced me with a very sad expression.
“Mia, please do forgive me. I was being so selfish and stupid. I wasn’t thinking about you but myself and my brother. You see, when the elders told us how strong the Golden wolf was I got scared.” He said as I took in a sharp breath.
“Yes, I was scared of you, to be precise, of what you might become. Ever since I could remember, Brandon and I have always been the best there is as well as the strongest. Hearing about a Golden wolf’s ability didn’t sit well with me, and much worse when I found out that you might be just that. No, I didn’t want you dead, how could I want the love of my life to die. I just wanted to confirm my fears. But what Brandon has said is the truth. If you aren’t a Golden wolf and did take the poison, your life would be in danger and you might end up dying. I would lose my mind and go insane, maybe rogue. That’s why I want to do the right thing while I still can. We won’t let you take that poison no matter what.” He said seriously.
I ran into his arms and hugged him tightly.
“I love the both of you so much.” I sobbed.
Brandon moved closer and rubbed my back gently a few times.
“And we love you too.” They answered together.
“So brother, what will be our way through?” Landon asked softly.
“I seriously don’t know, the only way her wolf would resurface or react is when she is in danger right?” He asked.
“Yes,” Landon answered with a soft sigh.
“Or perhaps I could just ask her.” I said with a sniff then pulled back.
“Would that work?” Landon asked curiously.
“Let her try,” Brandon answered.
I wiped off my tears and took in a deep breath then released it.
I was going to ask her nicely if she wasn’t going to give in to taking over and shifting. I was going to do the very thing that my mates would hate. That was to put my life in danger.
