Mia’s p. o. v
“She hurt him badly. She was at fault. That’s why he doesn’t trust us. He is scared yet he loves us and wants us as much as we want him.” My wolf whispered in my head over and over again.
“Shut up,” I whispered as I blinked a few times then opened my eyes, I was on the bed and it felt so comfortable. The scent I was inhaling from the sheets was clearly Landon’s.
“She ruined our chances with him. They did well to kill her…”
“Shut up!” I yelled loudly then sat upright on the bed.
The twins instantly tensed. They were standing in front of me facing each other. My guess was that they were talking about something.
“I’m telling you why Landon is this cold to us.” My wolf said again.
“Please stop it.” I pleaded while I lifted my hand and pressed it to my head.
“Um… Mia are you bothered by our voices?” Brandon asked softly.
I quickly dropped my hand and shook my head.
“No, I didn’t mean you. I meant my wolf.” I answered then shifted and tried to smile.
Yes, the voice I was hearing was really my wolf. But for some reason, she sounded different. There was something about her that felt off. I couldn’t feel the submission in her, nor the respect.
“How are you feeling?” He asked then moved closer and sat beside me.
“I am okay. It’s just that I feel tired for some reason.” I answered honestly.
He pressed his hand on my forehead with a soft sigh. I closed my eyes for a second enjoying the warmth and tingles on my skin.
“Sorry to ask you this Mia, but do you remember what happened to you in our office?” He asked seriously.
I kept quiet, thinking back on what had happened.
“The last thing I remember is Landon claiming that I love you more than I love him, and it’s really not true.” I answered in a panicking voice.
“Hey calm down okay. Just calm down.” Landon said quickly surprising me.
“Do you remember anything else besides that?” Brandon asked.
“No. Nothing, wait… did I fall asleep?” I asked loudly.
“Just as we thought.” He answered.
“Mia forgive me for asking you this, but who was your mother. What kind of she-wolf was she?” He asked surprising me.
I looked at them then brushed a strand of hair backward.
“My mother was an Omega, she died while giving birth to me,” I answered sadly.
“And who told you that?” Landon asked seriously.
Why were they asking me such questions?.
“It’s because of me.” My wolf answered.
“My father did,” I answered ignoring her completely.
“Okay, so Mia, do you remember that time we talked to you?. When you told us the truth about your father?” Brandon asked.
“Yes,” I answered.
“Remember what I said?” He asked.
I frowned then shook my head.
“If it would make you feel any better. You can go ahead and reject us, that would put us in unbearable pain and make us pay for our sins. Mia, we love you a lot that we are willing to go under any punishment to have your forgiveness. That time we ambushed your pack we didn’t do it for wealth and resources. There was a certain woman we wanted to kill. But the alpha and his beta stood in our way protecting her. We had no patience for waiting, that’s why we did what we thought was right at that time. I’m seriously not saying that we were right to hurt and kill your father, I’m trying to make you understand that we were pissed and our reason was gone.” Those were the exact words I told you.
“Yes, I remember.” I answered honestly.
“We never told you which one of us got hurt by her or that she had hurt anyone of us. But for some reason, I believe you know which one of us it is.” He said seriously as I swallowed hard.
Yes, I knew that it was Landon. To be specific, my wolf did and it made no sense at all.
“I know it was Landon because of my wolf. She keeps on whispering how that woman was at fault for hurting him so badly. And that he loves us, but seems to be scared at the same time.” I answered then frowned.
They both were looking at me with shocked expressions on their faces.
“Um… what is going on?” I asked seriously.
“This is serious,” Landon whispered then walked to the couch right ahead and sat down.
“Mia, are you sure that the one you are talking to is your wolf?” Brandon asked.
“Yes, I am sure.” I answered nervously.
“Have you ever shifted and seen her?. If yes, then what coat of fur does she have?” He asked.
“Um…., I have never seen how she looks like because I have never shifted in my wolf before. Brandon, what’s really going on?” I asked loudly.
“So you have never seen her. Then how sure are you that she is your wolf?” He asked.
Where exactly were his questions going?. And what was he implying?.
“Well, she purrs whenever you touch us. She whimpers whenever she is hurt. And these amazing tingles fill our whole body whenever our skin touches. She also knows that you are her mates and chooses to submit to you, moreover she is in me. We talk and share most of our feelings.” I answered seriously.
Brandon stood up and faced Landon.
“What do you think about all this brother?” He asked.
“She sure does have a wolf. What I’m not sure about is, if her wolf is a hybrid wolf or a pure breed.” He answered confusing me even more.
“What are you guys talking about?” I asked.
“A few hours ago before you passed out, I became jealous of Brandon. Mia, I want you to be sitting on my lap as well. Not only his.” Landon said seriously surprising me.
For some reason, I felt that he was telling me this to make me forget about their words earlier. But a huge part of me was so happy over what he had just said.
I quickly stood up from the bed and walked to him ignoring the slight dizziness I felt.
I got his hands when he extended them to me and sat on his lap. Snuggling close to him with my head resting on his chest.
My eyes were filled with tears and a smile formed across my face. It felt so unreal being in his arms like this. I knew that he loved me. But at times I could sense that he didn’t want me to get close to him.
“I love you,” I whispered out the words without thinking then bite my lower lip.
“I know.” He responded and kissed my head while wrapping his arms around me.
