“Are we seriously going to let those two female alphas’ go?” I asked lazily in Brandon’s office, then straightened myself and lay down.
“Of course. Our mate and luna bravely gave us her opinion. There is just no way that we can be able to go against that.” He answered while going through some papers on his desk.
“Well, you are right. But we both know how dangerous things will be once they go back to their pack. We will risk our lives as well as our mate’s own. They might try something shittier than before.” I said with a low sigh.
“Do you know something that I don’t know?” He asked seriously.
“Not really, but I assume you and I do think alike. We both were enchanted by something, and it’s definitely not natural. Our hearts and bodies are meant to react towards our mate, not some random females we barely know. Moreover, they aren’t even that sexy.” I pointed out.
“Yes, I too was thinking about that a lot. They must have had some sort of charms with them. They not only made us feel drawn to them but our wolves too.” He answered.
I sat upright then brushed my hand through my hair.
“Oh well, it’s pretty sad that we aren’t killing them. But it’s okay. Whatever they might plot or bring, we will handle it like we have been doing.” I said then frowned when I picked up Mia’s heavenly scent.
I quickly stood up and walked to the door, opening it. She looked at me surprised. Her hand was folded and in mid-air. It looked like she was about to knock.
“Hey, what brings you here?” I asked without a second thought.
She quickly dropped her hand and rubbed it on her arm.
“So um…”
“Let her in Landon,” Brandon said loudly.
I rolled my eyes childishly then stepped aside.
“Thank you.” She answered softly while walking in.
I closed the door behind and moved to the couch to sit down.
“Don’t.” My wolf warned stopping me halfway.
“Gosh, is it because she is standing?” I asked seriously.
He huffed then shut himself out.
“Damn it,” I muttered under my breath then stood upright.
I looked at Mia and noticed her eyes on me.
What?. Did she think I was cursing at her?.
“Mia,” Brandon called softly with a smile.
She looked at him and immediately smiled back.
“Come here.” He said while he extended his hands towards her.
She moved and walked to him, holding his hands in hers.
“Here.” He whispered as he guided her to his lap.
She sat down and faced the ground.
“Did you eat?” He asked softly.
She looked up then shook her head.
“Why didn’t you eat, it’s already late as it is.” He said in concern.
“That’s why I came here. I was wondering if you will be free to join me for supper.” She said pissing me off.
It’s not like I was fucking blind. She was treating me differently from Brandon!. Whenever she was around me, she was tense and her guard was held high. But whenever she was with Brandon, her guard was instantly let down and she seemed way comfortable. If I didn’t know better, I would assume that she was in love with him, not me.
“Fuck this.” I spat loudly getting both their attention while I stood up.
She quickly stood up from Brandon’s lap.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to offend you in any way. I just thought that you would like to dine with me.” She said sadly as I growled in warning.
Why was she fucking apologizing when I wasn’t upset about that!.
“Cut it out, Landon. You are being an asshole to the love of our life!” Brandon warned as well.
“I’m being an asshole to her you say. Then what exactly is she being to me?” I asked seriously as she looked up.
“What do you mean by that?” He asked loudly.
“Do you think I’m blind, perhaps stupid brother?” I asked back.
“What the fuck are you talking about?” He asked while he stood up.
“Don’t tell me you don’t see how she acts towards me and you. Whenever she’s close to me or near my presence, she tenses up. And always seem to avoid my gaze. Not to forget her words a minute ago. She said, “I came to invite you.” Not the both of us for supper. With you, it’s the opposite reaction she gives. I could swear on my life that she is in love with you more than she is in love with….”
“Enough!” She growled loudly startling me for the first time. I flinched as a cold shiver went around my body. The Aura around her was dark and somehow choking. I took in a deep breath and tried to control my breathing.
Her eyes were a pure yellow with a red ring around the pupil.
What the fuck was she?. Those eyes weren’t an omega’s eyes. An alpha had dark red eyes. A beta had golden yellow eyes, and an Omega had blue eyes.
But she had neither of the three. Moreover, the aura and pheromones around her were powerful enough to make me react.
“I do not love him more than I love you. You are usually treating me coldly and hurting me. While Brandon does less of that. So forgive me if I act the way I did. I’m trying to get close to you but I don’t know where to begin. Landon you just have to let me in completely. I’m not her, I’m your mate and I can never hurt you like that bitch did in the past.” She said strongly as I furiously moved.
How dare she brings the past that hurt me so bad in the present.
“You will no longer hurt me.” She whispered as her Aura thickened.
My knees instantly gave out and my strength left me. I fell to the ground and coughed badly as I tried to calm my breathing.
My coughing got worse in just a second. I lifted my hand and covered my mouth, when I dropped it I widened my eyes in shock. It was covered in blood.
I forced myself to look at Brandon and saw him leaning against the desk, with his hand on his throat.
She was doing this to us. What the hell was she.
“Mi.. Mia, stop…. please.” I pleaded in a laboured breath.
In a second the air cleared out and my breathing went back to normal.
I slowly stood up and saw her stumble.
She was about to fall when I quickly rushed to her side and held her in my arms.
Her eyes were back to normal but she didn’t look too well. She was pale and her skin very cold.
