“Just because you are our mate, it doesn’t make you any special. You are just a lowly omega that we chose to breed.” Landon spat as tears rolled on her cheeks.
I was about to call out his name in warning again when the female alpha beside me held my hand. I frowned and looked at the hand on me.
Something felt off. Not so long ago we hated any female that was not Mia. We couldn’t stand them.
And the alpha females were nothing special to us. But why the fuck were we so attracted to them?.
“You can’t tell me that you don’t feel attracted to them. You even know that your wolf is okay keeping them with us for a week.”
Those words Landon had said were true. No matter how much I wanted to deny the truth, it was of no use. The two female alphas made our wolves happy in some way. Their submission was absolute and very pleasing to us.
But no matter what. They weren’t who we deeply desired and longed for. Mia was.
I slowly moved her hand from me then faced Mia who was looking at Landon furiously.
“I Mia Garcia, reject yo….”
She swallowed her words when Landon crushed his lips on hers roughly.
It took everything in me to hold my stance. My knees felt weak. My heart was beating rapidly and sweat was forming on my forehead, I was scared. Very scared. My wolf was quiet but I could feel his emotions clearly. He was panicking.
It was rare for us to ever get this scared. But her words scared the shit out of us.
I knew Landon felt the same way I did. Never in my life was there a day I imagined our mate wanting to reject us. Yes, she deserved too but I never thought she would pull through with it.
My breath was slowly getting labored.
Christopher walked to me and stood in front of me.
“Alpha you can lean on me and pretend to whisper something in my ear. You don’t seem too well.” He whispered softly using our mind link.
I quickly did exactly as he had said. Looking weak was out of the question. I was shaken to the core. But I wasn’t going to show it.
Christopher stayed by our side for years. He was very observant and intelligent. At one time we never spoke to him. He had to learn how our mood was by watching us. With time he knew how we acted whenever we were angry, happy, sad, lazy, or bored.
I took in a deep breath and released it. When I pulled back and looked at Mia I sighed in relief.
Landon had pulled back and the kiss seemed to work wonders on our mate. She was staring at him in a daze with her lips slightly parted.
Her eyes said it all. She wanted him to continue with what he had started.
“You know what to do,” I whispered to Christopher softly.
“Yes alpha.” He answered then stepped away from me and faced the people.
“May I have everyone’s attention!” He screamed loudly getting everyone’s attention.
“As you all have heard. We want to welcome these female alphas in our territory. That’s why we are going to throw them a party. Can we all please get back to our respected areas now and start the preparations.” He said loudly.
I watched as everyone started going back to their respected places happily. Many enjoyed spending their time drinking and eating. So it came as no surprise seeing how happy they were.
Christopher turned and faced the female alphas.
“Alphas can you please come with me. I’ll show you to your rooms.” He said with a slight bow.
“We would really love it if the alphas showed us our room, not you beta.” The one on my side answered then held my hand again.
I was about to respond in a calm manner when I noticed Mia’s eyes on me. She was no longer in a daze but seemed rather hurt and sad.
The fear washed all over me again and this time my wolf partially pulled through and reacted to our instinct. “Protect our mate.”
My hand was on the female alpha’s neck in a second as she tried to pull it away with a muffled scream. The sister on the other side was about to move when I pierced my claws into her sibling’s flesh to warn her off from interfering. One wrong move from her would make me end her twin’s life.
“Alpha she was wrong to demand for such a thing. Please forgive her. I beg of you.” The sister on the side pleaded desperately.
When I saw Mia’s sad expression turn into a happy one. I dropped my hand and let the female alpha fall to the ground.
My wolf was still confused with how he had tolerated them so far. but above all, he was furious with them for touching us without our consent.
“Take them out of my fucking sight,” I demanded furiously then walked to Mia.
“Brother.” I mind-linked Landon.
“I was so scared.” Was all he could say over and over.
I moved and knelt beside Mia with one knee. I lifted my hand to check for any bruises on her neck when she turned and faced the other side.
I swallowed hard and touched her cheek gently.
“Don’t freak her out,” I whispered to myself silently as I looked closely and saw a few bruises there.
I angrily glanced at Landon who quickly faced the other side.
“Mia….”
“No.” She spat cutting me short.
“Mia….”
“I’m begging you two. If you feel sorry for your actions. Or like me even a little, please let me go.” She whispered.
I brushed my hand through my hair and swallowed a growl that was building up.
“We can’t do that. You even know that.” I whispered sadly.
“I am tired of this. I don’t want to be treated like I’m some trash or slut you own. I thought mates were suppose to love and protect each other.” She said with a cracked voice.
“But every time I try to believe in your words, you hurt me so bad and break my heart.” She said as tears rolled on her cheek.
My wolf was silently whimpering while my heart was badly aching.
We were the worst mates in the world and we only brought her pain when in truth we wanted to love and be loved by her.
I stood up and cleared my throat.
“You can leave,” I said seriously as Landon looked at me with widened eyes.
Mia slowly stood up and faced me.
“What?” She asked with a frown.
“I said you can leave. We won’t hold your back or stand in your way.” I answered.
“You must be fucking insane you crazy bastard.” Landon spat furiously.
“You have an hour to leave Mia. I am granting you the freedom that you need and long for. If an hour goes by without you leaving. Then it means you have decided to stay with us.” I said honestly.
