Chapter 96

“We… We didn’t find a single thing,” Emily looked devasted as she sat on the beautiful, tiles floor. Lena sighed and looked around the walk-in closet that appeared as if a truck had crushed it.
The closet was simply in shambles. “Mom… You really did a good job in hiding these important details from us,” She mumbled to herself as her eyes darted to and fro trying to see if they’d missed any spot.
Emily groaned, “Why will she hide information about father from us? Yes… I know we have never asked and it will look suspicious if we start asking now but… The only reason why I have never asked is cause I have noticed how she reacts whenever we talk about anything related to my father… That’s why I stopped asking.”
Lena sighed. “Is it so bad to just know the basic things about father except for his last name?” She lamented bitterly.
“Sis, could it be that whatever mom is hiding from is… A kind of secret she doesn’t want to share with us or anyone. What if dad is really dead?” Lena looked at Emily who shook her head at her words.
“She didn’t confirm it so… Dad can never be dead. He can’t be dead,” Emily answered, standing up from the cold tiles.
“Quick… Let’s arrange this place before mom comes back… And by the way… Lena, I’m sorry but I won’t be able to stay and welcome your friend,” Lena looked sad at this.
She pouted with a wave of fake anger on her face. “Emily… Are you sneaking off to see brother-in-law again!?,” Her tone sounded accusatory. “You don’t even stay at home for weekends anymore and mom sees nothing wrong with that. Why can you have a sleepover with my brother-in-law and I can’t do the same with my friends?”
“Shut up,” Emily nearly put her hand over her mouth to stop her from spouting any more rubbish. Her face was already so pink from the blush.
Lena refused to stop, “Why don’t you get married to brother-in-law so you can live with him all you want and leave me to my miserable life? You won’t even need to sneak off like this anymore.”
Emily hit her on the shoulder lightly. “Shut up… I’ll make you shut your mouth if you don’t do so now. Stop saying useless things and focus on helping rearrange this place. Get yourself a boyfriend if you are jealous.”
She bent down after saying this to start rearranging the place. Lena gave her a dramatic gasp, looking speechless. In the end, she bent down beside Emily to assist her.
“I won’t say anymore… Just remember to always use protection. As much as I’d like to have a nephew, you have to be sure about brother-in-law first so he…,” Her words were cut off by a hard glare from Emily.
She could only grumble about the rest of her words inwardly. Emily on the other hand brought out her phone and called Ryan’s number but there was no response. She put it away and decided she’d call back later.
It’s better to rearrange the closet first before their mother comes back.

“Brother… Wait, what are you… What’s going on?,” Deli rushed forward and held her brother’s hand just before he’d haul Scott up. If she didn’t know better, she would have said he was panicking.
“Deli… Kral is here. The bastard’s aura is even more powerful than I’d ever imagined. I felt so suffocated,” Deli watched him with widened eyes as he explained in a rushed manner.
“Kral…?,” Deli whispered. Her eyes twinkled with a strange expression that the man opposite her didn’t notice obviously. “Kral…,” She whispered again. She is the only one that knows how much she has longed to see that king that’s made many creatures cower in fear at his name.
Only she could say how long she has managed to suppress this infatuation in her for that man but now hearing that he is somewhere in this club… It made her heart skip a beat in an unusual way.
“Yes… He is here,” Her brother responded absentmindedly. “He must have come looking for that bastard. We can’t let him get to him or us.”
“Then…,” Deli looked at him. “What do we do?”
“Since your work here is done, we might as well leave. I have called for reinforcement. They will be here soon to get us out of here,” He told her.
“Us?,” Deli questioned with a wary look. “You mean him too,” She pointed at Scott and all she received as a response was a nod. “But… We’d never survive if we hold Kral’s brother in captivity. That old alpha king bastard would turn our world inside out.”
She was stunned to receive a loud laugh… Almost like the laughter of mockery. Wondering what she said was hilarious, he informed her, “He won’t be able to do anything. He will be too busy trying to save his pack from those power-hungry creatures. The information you got from your little bird is quite useful.”
He glanced at Scott when he mentioned ‘little bird’ so it was obvious who the little blood he is talking about is. “That’s why we can’t leave him behind. Who knows what other useful pack secrets he must be held in?”
Deli sighed and sat down on a couch. “Do you recognize Kral?” She asked him after a while.
A disgusted look appeared on his face. “I’d recognize him anywhere… Anytime. That powerful aura can’t ever go unnoticed.”

Ryan and the rest followed the head of the security team backstage… There was another security team already waiting there. They were surrounding something or shall I say someone as some of them called the cops.
A frightened old cook sat down on a stool with a pale look. “What you are trying to say ma’am is that you walked in and met him dead on the floor?” One of the security guards asked.
The frightened lady couldn’t even reply. “This makes no sense. I suspect a foul play here,” Another security officer commented.
