Sam and Mia exchanged a look as they gave their friends curious gazes. What is wrong with them? Why are they acting this way?
None of them noticed the uncomfortable look on the bartender’s face. The young man looked like his insides were on fire. He looked like something was stinging or biting him.
He took a few steps backwards and walked out, through the back door just in time to collapse on the floor. No one… Not even those that were questioning him just a minute ago.
“Ry… Ryan, what’s wrong?” Mia asked them as she got down from the stool. Sam rushed to help her get down carefully. If Ryan and Chris weren’t busy sniffing the air with an angry looks, they would have noticed this little gesture between Mia and Sam.
“Those fucking disgusting creatures are here!” Ryan snarled, sniffing the air again and looking around quickly. Sam sniffed the air but couldn’t smell anything.
“Now I’m convinced that Scott was here,” Chris’s words followed. Sam and Mia looked even more confused. Sam couldn’t bear it anymore cause he reached forward and pulled the two aside.
Yes… He wouldn’t have been able to pull them aside successfully and easily if he didn’t have bear genes in him. He also wouldn’t have been able to do that if Ryan wasn’t distracted.
“Would you guys tell me what’s fucking wrong and stop sniffing the air like weirdos!? People are here, you know!?,” Sam had to yell over the music that grew even louder.
“Those demons… Those fucking creatures… Why would they be present in the human world? I thought they hated humans as much as they hated us. Heck! Even their scent smelled disgusting. The rotten scent just polluted the air,” Ryan finally said it.
Mia was shocked. Who wasn’t aware of the fact that over the years the demon faction had been divided into two? Of course, there were some greedy, selfish creatures that weren’t satisfied with the fact they had to rule by an alpha!
A werewolf… They couldn’t accept the alpha king… Blaming it on their ancestors that’d mixed the demon blood with werewolves making them equal. They claimed that wolves couldn’t stand before them but now, they were standing equally.
So they’d forcefully made alpha Damon who was the ruling alpha then submit to their request and break off the faction, releasing the small pack of demons that weren’t happy with a werewolf ruling them.
But that didn’t stop those disgusting creatures that had already gotten their wish to grow more ambitious and try to latch their hands on alpha Damon’s powers.
By powers, I do not mean his demonic powers. Well, maybe but it also includes the packs of other supernatural beings he is controlling. That’s why the witches and wizards that were on alpha Damon’s side form a powerful matrix to protect the pack.
But over the years, the matrix power has slowly weakened but the number of enemies didn’t decrease. They’d grown even stronger with the Royal pack’s growing power.
The matrix had even been infiltrated once during the current alpha reign which is alpha, Ash. This happened at a terrible time when Luna Diane was pregnant but… Well, that’s a story for another time.
“Do… You mean the good demons?” Mia asked again with a panicked look. Chris would have laughed if the current situation allowed it. Is there any good demon? Aren’t angels called the good ones?
Ryan glanced at her, “Does my scent repulse you?”
Mia understood his words and shook her head sideways to indicate ‘No’. Ryan smiled at her even though the smile didn’t reach his eyes.
“We could smell as disgusting as those rotten souls… What am I saying? They don’t even have a soul,” Ryan would have gone on rambling to himself if Sam didn’t interrupt.
“Well… Now that it is established that we’ve got guests. Scott must have visited this place but who else can we ask when the available bartender isn’t aware of anything?”
“Huh? Where is the bartender? Where did he go?” Chris suddenly mumbled, catching their attention. They all looked back at the centre only to meet an empty space.
Ryan gritted his teeth angrily, “Now it all makes sense…”
Others looked at him with a puzzled looks. “Scott was here… He must be here. They must have brainwashed the bartender… It isn’t that he has never seen Scott here before… He simply has no recollection of meeting Scott,” Mia’s mouth opened slightly as Ryan explained.
“Then… We have to look for that bartender… He knows something,” Chris suggested.
They nodded and walked towards the bouncer’s areas. As they walked, Sam glanced at Mia and noticed that her hand was rubbing her stomach slightly. A worried look appeared on his face.
Should he have let her come with them? What if something happens?

A man in black blended once again among the unaware crowd easily. He was panting slightly. Why wouldn’t he look shaken up? He’s just escaped a close call with Kral.
That bastard is as good as his father. He must have noticed his arrival now. Thankfully, he’d managed to clear all trails that may leave any clue behind.
He walked down the hallway steadily and stopped in front of a door. He didn’t even have to talk before the door swung open.
“Brother…,” Deli’s words were caught halfway as her brother rushed in and shut the door behind him.
He appeared to be a little fearful. He glanced at the sleeping or shall I say unconscious figure on the bed with undisguised hatred.
“Brother,” She called again. “What’s wrong? I didn’t even know you were going to come today but I could smell your fear from…”
The words got stuck in her throat when her brother shot her a hard glare. She swallowed and shut her mouth. Why won’t he just admit that he is afraid?
What has gotten him so scared though cause she has never seen him looking so scared.
“He can’t stay here for another minute… It’s too dangerous!” The first words that spilt out of his mouth made her confused.
