“If he wanted the throne so badly, he should have begged the moon goddess to make him come to this earth first instead of me!” Ryan’s veins vibrated visibly in anger. Chris shuddered as he watched Ryan’s eyes turn crimson again.
But that didn’t stop him from still trying to defend Scott, “Ryan… He’s too childish to understand all these. You shouldn’t have hit him… I mean you nearly killed him. What would aunty do if she heard about it?”
“What he’s done would even break her first,” Ryan interjected angrily. He dug his fingers into his hair but instead of brushing them like a normal person is supposed to do, he pulled the soft hair strands to the point that they began to hurt.
Seems like he just needs to feel the pain. Chris sighed, “But now… He’s missing. What do we do? What do we tell others? You know… All these wouldn’t have happened if you’d let us look for him when I suggested it in the first place.”
Ryan’s jaws hardened. “How was I supposed to know that he didn’t go crying to Sam as he did in the past? The brat seems to have matured overnight but this doesn’t mean I won’t break his jaws when next I see him.”
Chris could only hit his forehead. How is he going to solve the issue between his cousins? The car finally came to a stop in front of a beautiful mansion. The overflowing fountain is just one of the many beauties I can mention about the house.
Ryan and Chris got out quickly. They advanced to the couple that was already waiting for them. “Is my brother-in-law really missing?” Mia couldn’t hide the scared look on her face as she hugged the little girl in her arms tight.
Ryan didn’t say a word but Chris nodded as he stretched his hand to pat the hair of a beautiful girl. She was sleeping. Sam gave Ryan a look and led them in.
“You have to explain everything because he really didn’t come here. I haven’t even seen Scott since that get-together in Singapore,” Sam told them.
“Where could he have gone to? Why did he even leave?” Mia sounded tearful.
A few minutes later after a lot of explanations without leaving any stone unturned, the couple were officially speechless.
Mia couldn’t even close her mouth. Thankfully, she had carried her daughter to her room earlier or she is sure that she would have dropped her in shock.
Ryan didn’t even look at them but that didn’t stop his anger from leaking in. Just hearing that scene again made his blood boil with anger.
Mia shook her head suddenly as if trying to convince herself about something. “Scott would never do that,” She said softly but her voice grew louder with each word.
“I don’t believe this. No… I refuse to believe this. How could you have judged him because you read a madman’s memory? This Hoffman you mentioned… Did he personally admit that he has been in cahoots with Scott? No… What am I saying? It’s not possible,” She rambled on and on.
Ryan gritted his teeth. If he told them what he’d been hiding… Other unspeakable secrets he found out about that brat… They won’t be acting like this. He’d found it hard to believe that his own bratty, irresponsible and annoying younger brother could do all that.
“He admitted it himself Mia,” Chris said solemnly. “I wouldn’t have believed it if Ryan told me but I was there to witness it all. Scott really admitted everything. He’s been trying to drag the company into the mud. He’s framed so many people including me just to get to Ryan. Those secret attacks against Ryan were all his plans… He just wants the throne. I couldn’t recognize Scott… I still can’t recognize Scott.”
He paused and looked at their faces before finally saying it, “Cause my cousin would never fight against his own family just because of the throne. He couldn’t have been faking those emotions, those feelings…”
Sam remained silent. He looked at Ryan and pointed out the important detail, “But now, he’s missing. There is no way we would find out the truth if he is missing. We won’t know why Scott truly did all these if we can’t find him.”
“We’ve been to his condo but he hasn’t even visited that place for quite some time,” Ryan finally spoke. Mia still looked shell-shocked.
“We have visited other places that he’d normally go to but he isn’t there either,” Chris continued.
Sam sighed, “Ryan… Do you believe everything Scott told you that day? Do you believe that he’s been holding a grudge against you since childhood? How come we never felt anything!?”
Sam sounded mad… But he isn’t angry with anyone… Just himself. How come no one noticed this?
Ryan’s hands tightened discreetly as he answered lowly, “I could see the truth in his eyes. Hell! I could even feel the truth. That bastard never said anything but he chose to act this way.”
“Guys… Aren’t you forgetting the main part? The one you are calling a bastard is missing,” Mia gasped as the words tumbled out of her mouth. “Goddess… What do I do when aunty calls? Her calls have been frequent these days. How would I even be able to talk to her?”
She was literally panicking. “Why don’t we ask his chauffeur?” Sam suddenly suggested. “If anyone should know where Scott frequently visits then it’s his chauffeur.”
Ryan and Chris exchanged a look. Why didn’t they think of this?

The middle-aged man stared fearfully at the four pairs of eyes glaring at him. He didn’t dare look at them as he turned his gaze downwards.
“Mr Ryan… I know you wouldn’t have brought me here like this for no reason,” He spoke. He didn’t want to use the word ‘kidnap’ cause that is the appropriate word for how they treated him.
They had bundled him up, thrown him in the car and brought him to God-knows-where.
Ryan smirked, “We want every single detail of every place my brother goes to.” I think he didn’t notice he just called Scott his brother again.
