Chapter 92

Book:TWO-SIDED ALPHA Published:2024-6-2

The guards exchanged nervous gazes as they tried not to make their strong stance collapse. It would be a lie if they said they aren’t intimidated by the crowd’s growing fury.
But what would they do? They just have to follow the Alpha’s orders. It doesn’t matter if the crowd tries anything unspeakable cause they would never be able to refute the alpha’s orders.
“You worthless dogs! Let us in! Are you gonna block our entrance like this till our death arrives!?,” Someone from the crowd shouted and others seemed to agree with his words.
“If the alpha is a coward enough to avoid seeing us, we will be the courageous ones to go in and meet him!,” Another one shouted. Yet again, the crowd roared with acceptance.
The guards were starting to get irritated. How could they call them worthless dogs and even call the alpha a coward!? Aren’t they courting quick death by doing so!?
Just when the crowd were about to lose the last shred of their sanity, Alpha Ash walked in, closely followed by Luna Diane and a few other wolves that the crowd recognized as the Alpha’s confidantes.
A hush fell upon the hall and the guards couldn’t hide their surprise. Where was the angry crowd that was yelling just a minute ago? Seems like it’s truly Alpha Ash that can subdue them.
Even though the crowd fell silent, there were still some stubborn subjects among them that refused to back down. One of them called out, “Alpha… What is the reason for your refusal to let us see you?”
The people beside Alpha Ash looked at the person that just asked this question like he was the dumbest being on earth. Like seriously, is he blind?
One of them even wanted to answer the fool but Alpha Ash of course stopped them with a raised hand to indicate silence.
He turned to the crowd and answered, “As you all can see, I have been in a pack meeting to discuss the rumours that have been spreading rapidly. My question for you is… Who is spreading such a lie and why are people who claimed to be my loyal subjects believing every ounce of that lie?”
The crowd fell silent. “Alpha Ash, what you are simply trying to say is that we should disregard the fact that the enemies have successfully infiltrated the matrix and are now weakening it to gain access into the pack. You are trying to say that we should disregard the fact that our lives are in danger!?,” Someone yelled from the crowd and once again gained the full support of the crowd.
Alpha Ash’s eyes darkened. It’s a pity that he doesn’t know who said that or he’d have his tongue cut off this very minute!
“If they indeed infiltrated the matrix like you claimed they did, why haven’t they attacked? Why are the guards watching the matrix still safe? Why has no one reported anything back to us about any supposed infiltration!?,” It was Luna Diane that answered this time.
Her voice didn’t hide the anger she was feeling and silence once again ensued as the crowd mused over her words. They’d slowly realized that her words had some sense in them. Why haven’t they attacked?
Infiltrating the matrix is like infiltrating the pack itself. “That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be on guard. A rumour wouldn’t just start without a reason. There’s got to be a mole among us if they’d indeed infiltrated the matrix!” Another one mentioned and Alpha Ash’s countenance turned darker than ever, his anger could be felt in the room.
The subjects shivered cause it felt like they were being pricked. “That is why I am also asking! Who the hell started that goddamn rumour!? Bring the bastard out now!” The room thundered with his furious voice.
Everyone in the hall exchanged glances. No one dared to say a word. Alpha Ash chuckled after the silence dragged on for minutes. “This uncalled-for meeting is dismissed,” He announced and turned to leave.
The crowd looked dissatisfied with his decision. But just then, the huge entrance doors swung open and everyone turned in that direction.
Even the alpha that was about to leave turned back. A weary-looking guard with dirty clothing rushed in and stopped for a minute to catch his breath.
He looked like he’d run from the borders of the pack to the Alpha’s mansion. He panted as he collapsed to the floor on his knees. In a loud voice, he announced, “Alpha! The matrix has indeed been infiltrated!”
Alpha Ash froze. The last time he’d heard those words was when Luna Diane was eight and half months pregnant with Ryan. The crowd was in an uproar once again.

Ryan glanced at his phone and a worried look appeared on his face. “You see cousin… This is why I’d tried mentioning this to you but you said he’s fine,” Chris’ voice made him look up as the car swerved left, heading in a familiar direction.
Ryan sighed and looked away, unwilling to say a word. He’d indeed thought that he is alright since this isn’t the first time that a brat has displayed a rebellious streak.
“It’s been days now… No weeks, yet no news from him,” Chris lamented, making Ryan feel more irritated than he already is. Why is he making it sound like it’s anyone’s fault here? It was the bastard that made his choice.
“No matter what he did… He’s still going to be our little sibling. Ryan, you should have tried to understand him from his point of view,” Ryan’s fists clenched when he heard this.
He lost it then, “What are you trying to say huh!? It was clear that the bastard betrayed us first! How was I supposed to know that he felt left out!? Mom or dad has never given him a reason to make him feel that way! Everyone has always treated us the same. But in the end, what did the brat do!? He tried to destroy his grandfather’s legacy… The family’s legacy.”
