He seized the opportunity to finally talk to Emily without her glaring hubby beside her. “Seems like this young master appears to have captured the attention of this young miss,” These were the first words that left his mouth as soon as he got to her.
Emily looked up and was a little bit startled to see Mason standing in front of her. Even though he was practically towering over her.
She gave him a small smile and felt that odd familiar yet unfamiliar feeling as she looked into his similar pair of beautiful, brown eyes.
“Hello, Mr Jones. Good day,” she said dryly, trying to resist an awkward wandering.
Mason smiled, “Nice to meet you. I wonder what it is about this humble, young master that seems to have caught the attention of miss…” He trailed off cause he didn’t know her name or how to address her. Should he just say, Luna?
“Jones,” Emily completed the sentence for him.
“Sorry… What?” He was puzzled.
“Miss Jones,” she repeated again and this time, he understood her. He was startled for a minute and a smile reappeared on his face when he thought of something.
“Miss Jones…? No wonder, is this what intrigued you?” He asked her blatantly, not even beating around the bush.
Emily nodded. She knows she must be acting foolish but this strange feeling in her guts has got to be right.
Mason chuckled, “There are so many people all over the world that share the same last name, Miss Jones. It doesn’t necessarily mean they must be related. Mum would have even murdered dad if he dared to spill his precious seeds elsewhere.”
Of course, he didn’t say the last statement out as he didn’t want to scare the lady. Even if the reason she has been looking at him is funny yet cute, he couldn’t deny that there’s this… thing about her that seems to draw him near.

“You would have to go on another job hunt again. We need someone urgent to fill in your cousin’s post. Since he is unwilling to come back….,” Chris was stunned when he heard this that he immediately stopped Ryan. He didn’t… never expected that this is the reason why Ryan pulled him there.
To talk about how to dismiss him instead of talking about how to resolve the fight!
“What are you saying, cousin? I know what he did was wrong but…”
“What he did wasn’t wrong,” Ryan’s angry voice interrupted Chris. His eyes turned crimson with anger again. “What he did was unjustifiable!”
Ryan tried not to raise his voice but in the end, he resolved to whisper-yell. “Yes but that doesn’t mean we can just assign someone to take over. No one can ever replace Scott. You do know he has been missing these days,” Chris looked furious. He couldn’t bear this. But who could he possibly tell?
Not Gracie and the rest… His sweet aunt or his scary uncle. He shook his head instantly at this. If a single word of this dares to reach his uncle’s ears, he is afraid Scott won’t even live to see the next day.
Ryan is doing him a huge favour by not saying a word of what really transpired in that room to anyone else.
“He’s fine… The bastard is…”
“Kral…” Ryan stopped talking when an unfamiliar high-pitched voice called his name. Chris turned away to hide the facial expression on his face as Ryan turned to the female that had called him.
His eyes darkened when instead of landing on the lady, his eyes landed on the two smiling figures behind her. His eyes narrowed at Mason smiling happily with Emily.
He’d only turned away from her for a few minutes and the bastard snuck off to talk to her!
“Greetings Kral,” His eyes were drawn back to the dolled-up lady in front of him. He watched the way she bowed to him and almost snickered. Does she think they are at the palace?
“Hmm,” He gave her a soft answer with a nod. She smiled at him and he finally asked, “Who are you?”
The smile on Leilani’s face froze. What!!!? He doesn’t know who she is. But they’d mentioned her name severally during the meeting. Is he just playing oblivious or what?
But she still answered with a fake smile, “Leilani Jones.”
“Oh… So you are Mason’s sister,” Ryan’s eyes scrutinized her appearance again. He turned away almost immediately. She wasn’t even half as beautiful as his Emily.
Leilani was stunned when Ryan just walked past her. He even looked disinterested when he called her Mason’s sister. She looked down at her clothes, her face turning red with anger.
Did she spend so much money and time all for nothing!? He didn’t even compliment her beauty as other men would. She’s forgotten that Ryan isn’t other men. He’s Kral. The one and only Kral.

“I do not believe in coincidence,” Emily told him firmly. Mason laughed again. “Are you saying you think we are related?”
Emily shrugged, “Maybe… Maybe not.” She only said this jokingly not aware of the levity of her words.
“I have two sisters and I certainly don’t want one more to the list…,” Mason played along.
Emily laughed, “I don’t mean we are necessarily related that way but perhaps in some other way.”
Mason scrunched his nose up in confusion. The cute look that appeared on his face wasn’t something the employees got to see every day.
“Then maybe you are my cousin… Weird. Dad has never mentioned having a sister or brother before,” His serious look made Emily burst into laughter.
“I didn’t expect Mr Jones would be…,” Before she could complete her words, someone pulled her, startling her.
She panicked until that strong hands embraced her. “I didn’t know that Mason has already met my Luna before since he seems too comfortable with her,” Mason could feel the daggers in Ryan’s eyes but what caught his attention was the mark on Emily’s neck that Ryan had intentionally let him see.
He arched his brows at this, surprise etching his face.
