“Me… Jealous!?,” Her voice quivered as she answered him. There was total silence in the dining room as everyone stared at Ryan with their eyes as round as saucers. Gracie couldn’t even close her mouth.
Ryan had completely forgotten about their existence. He was focused on Emily. Scott didn’t even bother to look up. He only mumbled something about the scene being the worst PDA he has ever witnessed.
“Hmm…,” Ryan nodded, anxious to hear her answer. “Of course, I am not jealous. I am just worried about you,” Emily almost bit her tongue after she said that.
Ryan’s eyes twinkled with amusement as a smile danced on his lips. “Why is that girlfriend? Why are you worried?”
Seeing that Emily refused to answer, he answered the question for her instead, “Are you afraid that your hubby will be swayed away by Singapore beauties?” Ryan asked.
“For your kind information sister-in-law, your hubby is also going to club tomorrow!” Scott added. He bit his tongue after the words escaped from his mouth.
He shuddered in his seat as several eyes darted in his direction. Ryan’s was terrifying of all. Emily gasped and glared at Ryan.
“I’ll really murder you when you come back,” She declared just before disconnecting the call. Before the call ended, she heard a feminine voice announce cheerfully, “Oh! Pearl is here.”
Ryan didn’t even look up at Pearl. His eyes were on Scott and the latter could feel his strong urge to pounce on him that instant.
Meanwhile, the gorgeous redhead that walked in pouted sadly when she saw that Ryan didn’t glance at her once. He looked at Scott… She could swear that he is actually glaring at Scott in anger but why? Did something happen before her arrival?
“Wait… Wait… Wait… What the heck just happened?,” Derik was the one that diverted their attention from Pearl’s arrival to Ryan and others remembered the baffling scene that had just played out right then.
“Yes… Brother-in-law, how come none of you told us that you’ve gotten yourself a girlfriend at last? Who is she? What does she look like? Does aunty know?” Gracie bombarded Ryan with questions curiously.
No one noticed the stunned look on the redhead who’s been identified to be Pearl. Neither did they notice Pearl’s hands clenching and unclenching at these words.
Ryan didn’t answer them. He just continued glaring at Scott till the latter couldn’t take it anymore. He lifted his head and smiled sheepishly, “Brother, just forgive me this once… I’ll never slip or spout nonsense to sister-in-law again.”
Pearl gasped. What the heck is going on? What girlfriend? What sister-in-law? What are they talking about!?
Ryan’s phone vibrated and he clicked on the notification. He saw that Emily had just uploaded a picture on her news feed and tagged some of her friends including him.
The heading was the post was, THIS DRESS LOOKS GOOD FOR A ROMANTIC DINNER AT THE SEA SIDE RIGHT?
Ryan swallowed in anger. Is she serious? Is she really going on a romantic date at the seaside with another man!? Is it Steve?
‘This is what happens when you have a dumbo as a brother,’ Ray chimed in unexpectedly. Even the wolf is pissed off! Ryan threw his phone at Scott and walked out of the room angrily.
Everyone was stunned by the sudden change of events. But the curious ones ran to Scott to peek at Ryan’s phone and see what made him so angry.
Mia, Vanessa and Gracie’s eyes widened when they saw the post and the name. Scott gasped. “She’ll really get me killed,” Scott mumbled.
He copied Emily’s number to his phone and called her. The instant she answered her call, he cried out like a baby, “Sister-in-law, please forgive me this once! Brother will kill me if you go on that date cause of me.”
He excused himself from the room and rushed out to continue the conversation. “What just happened?” Mia asked, still ravelling in shock.
Pearl sniffled and looked at the hot knickers paired with a top filled with stripes that she had worn just for Ryan. He didn’t even look at her once! Who is this fucking bitch!?
She didn’t expect that the little years she spent abroad has given him the exposure to get attracted to someone else. But she also didn’t realize that she is missing out on something. Ryan isn’t someone who gets attached easily and once he is, it gets difficult to dismantle him.
So if he liked her as she is claiming, he won’t be attracted to other girls. “Pearl… Why are you just standing there? Don’t you want to say hello to Ryan? You know where to find him right?” Mia disrupted her thoughts.
She nodded and walked out of the room abruptly.

Emily smiled even though she didn’t want to. It’s so much fun listening to the spoiled brat apologize even if he is older than her. “I didn’t hear what you said well. Maybe it’s the network,” She interrupted his words once again and could have sworn that she heard him groan right then.
“Tell me something… Is Ryan really going to club?” Emily didn’t notice how natural those words had sounded. She was acting like a worried girlfriend.
Scott hesitated to answer. If he says something wrong to her now, Ryan might actually murder him. So he kept mute.
“C’mon… I won’t get angry or tell him anything. I just want to know,” Emily assured him.
“Yes,” His voice was low. “But we are only going there because we organize a get-together every month. Besides, the club belongs to one of our friends,” however, his voice was high while explaining.
Emily secretly smiled in relief. “Thank you. I’ll hang up now,” She informed him.
“No! No… Sister-in-law, what about brother?” Scott asked fearfully. “Don’t worry… I’ll message him.”
Scott could finally breathe freely as the phone emitted a tut-tut sound to indicate that Emily already disconnected the call.
Emily smiled and looked at the post she uploaded. She’s sure that Ryan would have seen it by now but thinking about her conversation with Scott made her feel guilty so she deleted the post and tried calling him.
