Chapter 32

“Then she started giving me offensive replies without even caring about others in the room. I think she must have forgotten that she was there for an interview. Was she blind to see that I was one of the people supposed to be interviewing her!? She didn’t even show any respect for me. That’s why brother, you must convince Chris to release her to me so I can teach her a well-deserved lesson! I…,” Scott would have continued his long speech if Ryan hadn’t stopped him right then.
“It’s okay! It’s okay,” Ryan sounded frustrated. Why wouldn’t he be!? When someone has been filling his ears with complaints of an unknown miss feisty, he would surely be frustrated.
“You have been talking about this miss feisty since we got home. When exactly do you plan to leave my house huh!?,” Ryan remarked.
Scott gave him a dramatic gasp as a response. “Brother!,” He shouted in his usual aggrieved tone. “Did you even hear me at all!? I have just recounted how someone bullied me and all you could do is to ask me when I am leaving. You know what? We are going to be together forever now.”
Ryan gave him a stink eye hoping he didn’t mean what he just said. “If you do that, I’ll bundle you back home and make sure you never set foot in New York again!” Ryan threatened.
Scott was speechless at his words. He didn’t even get a chance to retort cause Ryan continued his unfinished statement, “Why are you even acting like a child huh? You just mentioned it yourself that she is just twenty and you are twenty-two for goodness sake. How can a twenty years old bully such a strong man like you?”
Scott sat on Ryan’s grey-coloured bed angrily. Actually, it’s the bedspread that has a grey colour. Most of the things in the room are also grey coloured… That’s his favourite colour I guess.
“Brother… Wait till you get married to someone that has an exact fierce attitude like her, then you’ll understand!” Scott mumbled angrily.
Ryan glared at him and snapped back, “I will pray for heavens and moon goddess to match you and this mysterious miss feisty!”
Scott was stunned. What sort of prayer is that? Wahhh! He can’t bear this bully anymore. He walked out of the room, banging the door close angrily.
Ryan chuckled and turned back to the meeting he was having on his laptop. His phone vibrated and he clicked on it. It’s a message from the group.
‘Poof… I wonder why this group is so dusty. No one has been talking lately. Even Gracie, the chatterbox is nowhere to be found. Oh… I just want to remind you all that the get-together is in two weeks’ time. Kral don’t forget your message! And Scott doesn’t bring an unknown lady as your a date!’ from Nico.
Ryan could see that the message has already gotten mixed reactions… I mean emojis and a few comments. Gracie’s was first.
‘ You stinky dude! I’ll teach you a lesson for calling me a chatterbox when we meet!’ she added an angry emoji.
He skipped the rest to Scott’s comments. The brat responded to Gracie’s comment and Nico’s message.
‘He is right. He just didn’t describe you well. You’d probably win a radio if you were to be in a communication competition,’ Scott’s response to Gracie’s reply. He even added an emoji which is a man running away.
‘Nico… My date doesn’t concern you. Focus on your wifey or I’ll bring her as my date instead!’ His response to Nico’s reply.
Ryan shook his head at their childish antics and quickly switched off his data before his phone erupted with messages.
Then he faced the laptop and said, “Continue.”

Scott smiled as he watched the icon that showed Gracie typing a message to the group. He could already imagine her angry face. It gives him so much joy to make her angry every time.
He scrolled upwards and saw that Ryan as usual didn’t say a word even though it’s already been ticked in the app that he is one of the people that has already viewed the message.
But in that minute, his face turned cold, the opposite of his smiling face just now like he remembered that he had forgotten to do something important.
“Darn it!” He threw his phone on the bed. “I completely forgot that I promised Deli that I’d come back to her later today. It’s already so late… I can’t risk my brother’s wrath. I’ll just have to wait till tomorrow.”
He sighed in frustration. Then he picked up his phone and saw multiple messages. But his eyes trained on a single one that caught his attention.
He clicked on the message bar that displayed Amy’s name. ‘Is the plan still on?’ that was her message.
Scott displayed a sinister smile and gave her a short reply, ‘Yes’
Then he dropped his phone and walked to the bathroom in a good mood.

“Morning mom,” Emily greeted cheerfully as she walked to the kitchen and wrapped her hands around her mother’s neck. Mrs Jones looked up from the porridge she was stirring and smiled.
“It’s the first time in years that you are waking up so late… Baby, you haven’t started and you are already so exhausted… I can’t help but worry about when you would eventually start,” She told Emily softly.
Emily smiled and kissed her mother’s cheek. “Mom, don’t worry. I can do it! Aren’t you going to work today?”
“No… I don’t have any task for the weekend so I am going to spend it taking care of my babies even though the other one… That lazy ass is still in bed”
Emily burst into laughter and almost froze when she heard, “I heard that mom!”
She turned around just in time to see Lena walk in grumpily in her purple cotton pyjamas. The only similarity between their favourite colours is that they both start with a ‘P’.
Emily loves pink while Lena wouldn’t trade any other colour for purple.
“I didn’t know an angel whispered in your ears to make you wake up so early… Tell me, baby, what angel was it?” Their mother teased.
Emily laughed again as Lena groaned unhappily.
