Chapter 30

Book:TWO-SIDED ALPHA Published:2024-6-2

Ryan’s hand clenched by his side. How dare she talk to him like that!? Is she even aware of who he is??
Before Ryan got a chance to make a comeback, the elevator made a ding sound and the doors began to open. But he isn’t about to lose to this unknown but disrespectful lady.
“Keith!,” Emily heard Ryan call out behind her. She shouldn’t stop but she did. Why did his voice have to sound so good? But the next words he spoke dispelled the sinful thoughts in her head.
“Ask someone to fumigate this elevator and clean it thoroughly. Who knows what dirty thing might have used it and contaminated it for use?” Ryan said it loud and clear making sure she could hear.
Emily couldn’t believe her ears. This rude jerk just… just called her a dirty thing! He even suggested that she might have contaminated the elevator. Who does he even think he is huh!?
Actually, it’s her fault for waiting to listen to his nonsense. If only she had just left earlier but that doesn’t mean she would let him ridicule her.
She walked backwards and turned to give him a piece of her mind only to discover that he’d already walked away. She could make out his faint figure in the distance.
Her hands rolled into fists as she glared at him. The next time she meets that jerk, she is going to make sure he doesn’t get away like this!
She then angrily left. Her phone vibrated just then and she opened it to see that Steve had left a string of messages for her.
‘I’m not in the mood to talk right now,’ she typed back and he answered her instantly… Is this guy jobless or he just has a lot of free time?
‘Who made you angry?’
‘A rude jerk,’ she added a knife emoji and switched off her phone before tossing it into her bag. She then wore her helmet and hopped on the scooter.
Ryan was walking by the window side when she rode off. His eyes widened with realization and his mouth perked up. So she’s the mystery rider and his new neighbour.
Such a pity that she is so rude… No wonder her sister glared at him that day. Turns out she got her behaviour from her sister.
“Keith,” He turned to the man that has been waiting patiently beside him.
“Get me all the information on that rude girl from the elevator. What’s she doing in my company? I want all the information before you leave work,” he ordered and Keith nodded with a smile even though he is practically crying inwardly.
He couldn’t count the amount of tasks Ryan already assigned him to do. This means he won’t be able to leave work early today again and that would obviously cause his wife to be mad at him. Then she would deny him his manly right tonight. You get what I mean right?
He sniffed in pain, unaware that Ryan had been calling his name until he said, “Keith, are you tired of this job?”
“Huh!? Of course not sir,” He replied loudly. Where else would he get a good company that pays a mere secretary five figures monthly?
“Then don’t daydream while you are at work. I have been calling your name but you didn’t respond. Wait till night and you get home to your wife before you start daydreaming,” Ryan scolded him. He knew better than to keep silent at that moment.
“Take this,” Ryan handed over a bunch of files to him. Keith couldn’t stop the single teardrop that escaped as he carried the heavy files. Should he just resign before the boss finishes him off with tasks?
“Give this to… Erm… What’s her name? Oh yes! Give that to Amy,” Keith heaved a breath of relief when he heard this. Turns out that the boss still has a conscience.
“Yes sir.”
“Then you can leave,” Ryan dismissed him. Keith bowed respectfully and left the office. Ryan walked to his swivelling chair and sat down on it.
As he relaxed on it, he thought back to Ray’s behaviour earlier. The wolf went on ignoring mode after he refused his last attempt to get him to shift and ever since then, he hasn’t said a word.
So why did he suddenly behave like that? ‘Ray,’ he called out. But there was no response. ‘Ray… Are you there?’ he called the wolf again.
He could feel the wolf groaning in his head. ‘What is it? You wouldn’t shift and now you are disturbing my precious sleep,’ the wolf complained. Ryan smiled. So the silly wolf is still holding a grudge.
‘Why were you acting that way earlier? I would have really shifted right then!’ Ryan told him.
‘I couldn’t control it. It’s a mutual reaction,’ Ray responded with a lazy yawn. Ryan was confused. What mutual reaction? Why is this wolf speaking in riddles?
‘I don’t understand,’ Ryan retorted plainly. ‘Great. Cause I don’t want you to understand!’ Ray snapped in an annoyed tone.
Ryan was left speechless when the wolf went back to sleep. Why is this wolf acting unruly like that girl!?
He smiled, thinking of her. He should have waited earlier to see her reaction. He suspected her face would have probably flamed with anger since every little thing seems to send colour to her pale skin.
He shook his head, trying to get the thoughts out of his head. His smile wiped off too… That girl just needs someone to teach her a lesson. And he really hope she would use the elevator again so he can say it to her face every single time that he would get someone to fumigate it!
‘Aren’t you behaving too childishly?’ Ray’s voice floated in his head. ‘Ray!,’ he called out in surprise but the wolf ignored him and went back to sleep.
Ryan frowned. Why does he feel like this wolf is doing this on purpose?

Emily got home later than she expected to cause the lights were already on when she reached home. There had been an accident on the road completely blocking both cars’ and motorcycles’ paths.
