Nikolai
“You are not going to come anywhere near my daughter, pup,” Orlando snarled at Dimitri, his eyes turning red as he pulled his daughter behind him, hiding her from Dimitri’s view who growled at that. “I have not sacrificed my own beloved only for you to steal my pure daughter and ruin the prophecy.” Did he actually choose another female over his own mate so that his daughter could be of pure breed and she could complete the prophecy? What a fucking idiot.
“Father, I -”
“Quiet, girl.” He snapped at his daughter, making her flinch. I could feel Dimitri’s anger. It was almost tangible. And if she was Dimitri’s mate, she was family. And we take care of our family. No one was going to harm her under our protection.
“We have made far too many sacrifices for this prophecy, Nikolai. You need to reject Avalyn. You need to mate Althea.” Viktor said. “There is no other way.”
“If the Moon Goddess wanted us to mate, she would have made her my mate instead of Avalyn. But that is not the case. Althea is Dimitri’s mate. And since that is Moon Goddess’s wish, that is exactly what will happen.”
“You fool! All of this is happening against the Moon Goddess’s wish! She is helpless without God Sol’s light of direction. If things happened according to her wish, why would she choose to be apart from her mate? Cross breeding is also a mistake! So many vampires simply kill themselves just because their werewolf mates die of old age. Do you think that is correct?” Orlando asked.
It wasn’t correct…
“I don’t give two fucks. Althea is mine,” Dimitri darted towards them.
‘Stop, we need more information,’ I told him through the mind link. ‘Keep patience, you will get her.’
‘Okay,’ he replied, his voice tense.
“The Moon Goddess does not need mine, yours or God Sol’s help to do anything. She is a Goddess and whatever she chooses, we accept.” I replied, meaning each word.
“The Moon Goddess is a female. And no matter how modern you become or how much of a feminist you are, you cannot deny nature. Males are the ones who are biologically stronger, the ones who provide and protect. Females are the ones who produce.” Orlando said.
Max asked drily, “which century do you fucking live in?”
“Make fun of it as much as you want but it is true,” he said. “If you take the time to notice the world around you, you will see it. The Moon does not have light of its own, it reflects the light of the Sun. She glows under the light of the sun, under the direction of the Sun and the part that the Sun’s rays don’t touch remains dark. Moon revolves around the earth but ultimately it revolves around the Sun. It is because of the Sun that Jivan exists in the first place! God Sol is the reason Jivan exists! Even in the thousands of stories of God Sol and Goddess Luna, it was always said that God Sol ruled Jivan with an iron fist. And him, being the embodiment of fire, had a nasty temper. Goddess Luna, who had affinity with water, was the only one who could cool him down. Both definitely needed each other to maintain peace, but God Sol had always been the one who played a major role in ruling Jivan. A woman cannot rule alone.”
“Cleopatra, Zenobia, Laxmibai, Joan of Arc, Borte Ujin, Wu Zetian and Maria Theresa beg to differ,” Max commented.
“They are humans who can barely control a couple of countries. We are talking about an entire dimension here! About all life forms that exist in the entire universe!” Victor burst. “You must reject Avalyn and mate with Althea.”
“She has been trained all her life to be a perfect Queen. In every way. You will not be disappointed. She has known that she has to serve you ever since she was born, she has been taught proper ladylike social etiquette, given lessons in dancing, singing, knitting, numerous musical instruments, cooking, even cleaning, maintaining the house staff, training slaves, handing just punishments, serving her mate-you, in any way he pleases, even sexually. And she’s a virgin, yours for breaki-” Dimitri’s loud growl broke Orlando from insulting his daughter any further.
“Avalyn is my mate and my Queen,” I said slowly, making sure it passed through their thick skulls.
“Althea!” Orlando snapped and Althea took small measured steps forward before she took off her white dress, revealing her naked form and kneeled. Ignoring Dimitri, she faced me and tilted her neck, exposing it as an offer for me to mark her.
I turned to look at Dimitri and saw that he had a heartbroken expression on his face, his eyes unable to leave his mate.
“Prince Nikolai, please accept me as-” Dimitri’s eyes turned black at his mate’s words and in the next second, Althea was standing in Dimitri’s arms and his teeth had sunk into her neck, marking her as his.
Orlando let out a loud snarl and ran towards my brother.
Max was quick to zip towards Orlando and pin him against a pillar.
I stood up and walked down the steps, “I don’t care what you think. I believe in the Moon Goddess and everything will happen according to her will. And as for the prophecy, Avalyn is my mate and I don’t care if it comes to fruition or not. You are not greater than the Moon Goddess to play God with innocent lives like Althea.”
“You will regret this, pup,” Orlando’s eyes flashed red as he glared at Dimitri but Max had a firm hold on the old man. He wasn’t escaping.
