I thought Jiannan Lyu would embarrass me, but I didn’t expect that he would just let me have a meal with him, and then he sent me back to Maple Villa.
“I’ll call you for dinner some other day. Bye.” Jiannan smiled evilly at me.
“Please don’t hurt my child.” I begged him once again.
“If you beg me, of course I’ll agree. Don’t worry, when I get rid of Leon, you and your child will be with me and I will make sure you two live without any worry.” He said.
I couldn’t answer this, and I didn’t dare to fight back, so I chose to be silent.
He laughed and drove away.
Later, I told Leon the road map, and he was silent for a long time. Then he told me not to worry and he would ask Xuanlong Jiang to send more people to protect our child to school. And every day the routine, the driver and the car would be changed. In this way, his safety would be made sure.
I was only a little more relieved when he said so.
“Anyway, you don’t have to worry about the child. I can ensure his safety.” Leon held my shoulder and said. He then suddenly mentioned another question, “Did you go to see Nan Lin today?”
“Yes.” I admitted frankly.
“You’re going to force her to resign herself?” Leon asked again.
“Yes.” I admitted again, then I asked back, “Did she tell you? Did she say that I bullied her? So, you’re ready to protect her?”
“You think too much. She did approach me, but I told her that what you said to her was right. She really should resign.” Leon said indifferently.
I didn’t totally believe his words. I had always felt that he was protecting Nan far more than he was protecting me.
Although emotionally I don’t think Leon would hurt Nan, for I trusted his sanity. He shouldn’t let her become a destabilizing factor.
“So, I have to thank Fourth Brother for supporting me?”
“Forget it. Since she is willing to resign himself, we no longer need to talk about it. What we should think now is, who’s going to hurt our kids?” Leon looked at me and asked.
“Xiang Feng?” It was the one I was most suspicious of, because she had threatened me with my child.
“Would she really do that? But if she does so, how is she going to face Mr. Hua?” Leon frowned and said.
“It’s not like she’s going to show up and illustrate anything. All she has to do is to exchange our child for your quitting Hua’s Group, and you’ll have to listen to her, so that she can support her people to climb up.”

I thought about it for a bit, but I couldn’t answer it. None of those directors in Feng family had this kind of ability, let alone Moyun Feng. She was far from the position.

She has been letting Moyun check and balance me just because I don’t obey her and she’s worried how it will affect Feng family’s position in the group when I get stronger. But driving Hua family out of Hua’s is something that Feng won’t think about, because she knows she can’t do it. She will only support a one person, who has a good relationship with Feng family, in Hua family to take charge of the group, so that Feng family’s interests won’t be influenced.”
“Who would that be?”
Leon suddenly became serious, “There are just two people. Who else could there be?”
“Chenxing Hua? But he doesn’t seem like a vicious person, and Alex is his nephew. How could he do this?”
“I also don’t think my brother would be so cruel, but people change all the time. I hope it’s not him.” Leon said coldly.
“Do you think that Mr. Hua has already leaked the news of his retirement, but he didn’t just leak it to us alone and others also know it?”
Leon asked me back, “Why should he only let us know? He needs a successor, someone who can deal with all kinds of complex situations, not the one who heavily relies on him.”
I thought about it. Mr. Hua really considered a lot. He was truly sophisticated.
“If that’s the case, has the war already begun?” I asked him worriedly.
“The war is something that has been on all these years, but we never show our true thoughts. But this time, it’s definitely unavoidable. They’ve been trying to get rid of me all these years, but I’ve been doing fine. So, they know I’m not easy to deal with and they’ll definitely take on someone close to me. You have to be careful.”
“I have to be careful? They’ll do it to me?”
“They can do it to our boy, let alone you. You must be careful.” Leon’s expression was serious.

The next day, in the afternoon, I asked my assistant, knowing that Nan had indeed resigned, making me feel relieved. She was quite smart and if she had been stupid and stubborn and refused to resign, there would have been some trouble.
I was ready to leave early as the company’s business was almost done. As I was driving out of the Pioneer Park, a young man suddenly rushed in front of the car, and I almost ran into him. White shirt, boarder haircut, he was standing right in front of my car, standing still.
He seemed not to find fault with me. This was the entrance and the security office was right next to me, so I wasn’t afraid of what he would do to me. I rolled down the window and asked him what he wanted.
“Miss Yao, I want to find a job in your company, can you arrange it for me? I can drive and I can do some menial work.” The man walked up to my car window and said.
“How do you know me?” I looked at him warily.
“I saw you on TV. Can you offer me a job?” He again said.
“You can attend our job fair to find a job and apply for the job that suits you. You stay out of my way or I’ll call the police.” I said coldly.
“Okay, then Miss Yao, take care.” He did get out of the way though.
I rolled up the window and drove away after making sure he didn’t go back again. Then I stopped the car to take out my phone, ready to take a picture of him, but he had already gone and I only got a shot of his back.
Still worrying, I called Leon and tried to tell him about it, but he was in a meeting. I called Xuanlong and he asked me if I wanted him to come over to pick me up, but I said that wasn’t necessary. I told him to protect Alex and he said it was no problem and he would make sure that nothing would go wrong.
After I got home, Alex was taken back then. But I still felt worried, feeling the man who appeared there would not simply ask me to find a job.
But he didn’t do anything aggressive to me, which made me wonder what he was up to.
Later in the evening, when Leon returned, I told him the thing. He couldn’t figure out what the man was up to. It’s a pity that I didn’t get a shot of the man’s face, or I could have asked Xuanlong to find him out.
