The food was served, but Nan Lin was not in the mood to eat.
“Are you forcing me to go?” She said. She looked depressed but not reconciled.
“Yes, that’s it.” I said and nodded.
“I’m going to tell everyone that you’re threatening me and you can’t tolerate me in your eyes.” She retorted.
“I knew you’d say something like that. I don’t care who’s behind you. I just want to tell you that you’re just somebody else’s piece and you can be sacrificed at any time. Let me analyze it for you. The only advantage you have over me is your old friendship with Leon Hua. He’s been protecting you because he is man who values affection and righteousness. But now you’re being used to get into Hua’s group. You are not provoking me, but Leon. If you embarrass him, his favorable impression of you will disappear. Just think about it, if Leon is disgusted with you, can you stay here?” I said.
“I don’t mean to provoke him. You are talking nonsense!” She said excitedly.
