The dark blood pack…
Helga sighs for the umpteenth time as she paces restlessly in her chamber. It has been many hours already, and she can’t still bring herself to forget about what Cassie told her. Recalling the pain on her face when she was narrating her story to her earlier, she can’t help the pain that keeps shooting through her heart uncontrollably.
Letting out another brief sigh, she finally sits on the edge of the bed and runs her fingers through her hair in so much confusion. Moments ago, she was waiting for her father to show up so she can finally get what she wants, but now the feeling has changed. She doesn’t feel like hurting her again, for some reason which she has no idea of.
“Who is she?” She asks herself for the umpteenth time, but too bad that she may never find the answer to her question.
Still lost in thoughts, the sound of the knock on the door suddenly pulls her back to reality, and she stares at the closed door for a few seconds, before she finally permits the person to speak up.
“My lady, some people are here to see you,” The masculine voice announces from outside and she pulls a blank look for some seconds. Wondering who might the people be. Could they be alpha Damien and his brother, or Nicolai? With the question ringing in her head, she stands up from the bed and sighs again.
“I’ll be there shortly, Following her voice up, the footsteps retreating along the hallway tell her that the guard is already gone to deliver her message.
Slowly, she drags her feet to stand before the mirror, staring at her reflection. For so many years, she has always wanted nothing, but to find the woman with the power to melt the ice stone, so she could avenge her late husband, but now… She doesn’t know what she feels no more. She has no idea why she feels her heart soft toward this young lady and it’s already getting her sick.
A few minutes later, she finally turns around and strides out of her chamber, heading to the guest chamber where they are said to be waiting for her. Striding down the hallway, a few of the guards she meets on the way keep bowing their heads in obeisance to her, while she just walks past them.
Finally halting in front of one of the doors, the guard at the doorpost bows to her slightly, pushing the door open afterward. She walks elegantly into the large chamber, her dark and intimidating aura slowly surrounding the place, and in a couple of seconds, she has dominated the chamber. Seeing the four young men and a woman sitting around the large table, her eyes flickers when she didn’t see Damien. She concludes that the people must have come with Cassie’s father.
As she walks over to one of the empty chairs, so many questions keep lingering around her mind. Why would a father treat his own blood the way Cassie said that he treated her? Why would he treat an innocent child for what she knew nothing about? Those are questions that she keeps asking herself as she finally takes a seat amid them, not bothering to check out their faces.
Meanwhile, Nicolai who has been sitting and waiting patiently for Helga freezes on the spot as soon as he sights her. He bats his eyelashes a couple of times to be sure that this is not a dream, but it’s not. The woman sitting in front of him now, he can always recognize her even in his sleep. This is the love of his life, the woman he has been grieving for all these years. How’s this possible?
“Amelie?” To satisfy his confusion, he finally calls her name, and she quickly snaps her head up to check who just called her name, but she freezes on the spot and her mouth drops open in shock as the shock of her life welcomes her. Nicolai is sitting right in front of her.
“Nicolai?” Her voice quivers as she whispers his name as if she doesn’t want anyone to hear her. Her heart sinks into her stomach as she stares at him in shock. Memories of the past come flooding her mind, and she quickly stands up to her feet. Nicolai also springs up too, while Lydia and others stare at them in confusion, wondering what’s happening now.
“You… You… are alive?” His heart races rapidly as he slowly points his index finger at her in confusion. He bats his eyelashes for another few seconds, probably to get herself out of this dreamland, but this doesn’t seem like a dream. It’s reality. The woman he thought was dead years ago is still alive, and she’s sitting right in front of him. But what happened? How come he was told that she died? Where has she been? Those are the questions that keep conflicting in his mind, as he stares at her in shock…
Blue moon pack…
Alpha Damien is in the garden and staring at the sky. It’s still afternoon, and the sun is shining brightly, but his eyes are not affected. Yes, it’s causing pain in his eyes, and getting them weaker with each second, but it’s nothing, compared to the pain in his heart.
For these past few days that Cassie has been away, he has been trying to be fine, but nothing is working. How is she now? Is she fine? Will she eventually get out of that place safe and sound? Who is that woman, and what does he want from her? Why would anyone abduct her? Those are the questions that keep running through his mind without answers, and it’s driving his nut.
Still lost in thoughts, the sound of the footsteps drawing close from behind him pulls his attention, but he keeps gazing at the sky.
“I want to be left alone, Kai,” He says, sighing momentarily.
“It’s something important, Damien. The person that set Cassie up… She has been found,” Kai’s words ring in his head, and for some seconds, he stares blankly at the sky, trying to comprehend what his friend just told him. Here he was all these while, thinking that it didn’t involve anyone. For some seconds, he stops to think about that night, and now everything is making sense to him. Recalling how all the guards slept off, how he had sleep paralysis, bringing all the pieces together, it’s now making so much sense to him. Someone is involved.
“Who is it?” He finally turns his attention to Kai, having a curious and questioning expression on his face.
“Come with me,” And with that, Kai turns around and walks away, while he stares at him for a few seconds before he finally trails behind him.
As they both walk down the hallway that leads to God knows where, he can’t help the many questions that keep running through his mind. Who could that be?
After a few minutes walk, they finally stop in front of the prison door, and Kai pushes the door open, but he freezes on the spot at the sight that welcomes him. No, it can’t possibly be her, right? This is some mix-up.
“Astrid?” His voice sounds confused as he calls her name, and she slowly raises her gaze to look at him, and a drop of tears slid down the corner of her cheek…
