“I have been waiting for so long, I don’t want to wait anymore. I’m getting impatient. Seeing that bastard sit on the throne that’s supposed to be mine, pisses me off that I want to set him ablaze and burn him alive,” Nicolai says between gritted teeth and gulps down the liquor while glaring into space.
“You just have to be a little more patient. Everything will fall in place soon. But there’s a problem,” The priest says, and he slowly raises his gaze to look at him with a questioning look on his face.
“What problem?” Curious, he asks.
“Damien has something that can destroy you…” Hearing this, he squints his eyes in confusion, wondering what he meant by that. He’s the second most powerful werewolf in existence, so there’s no way a little child born a few years ago can have something that’d destroy him, right?
“What are you talking about?” Confused, he finally asks.
“He has a young lady in his possession, whose powers have been concealed since birth. You have to destroy her before he finds out about this,” Hearing this, his face drops disappointedly as realization dawns on him. Of course, he can’t possibly be so dumb not to know that the person the priest is referring to, is his daughter, right? For over twenty years, he has concealed her powers for some reasons best known to him. He thought he was setting himself free when he sold her, and he never imagined that it was Damien that bought her. He has given him the weapon to use against him.
“What should I do?” Determined, he asks.
“The only way is to destroy her. It’ll be a disaster if you two ever see each other again. You should destroy her before it’s too late,” The priest says to him, and he sighs briefly. How’s he supposed to do that? How’s he supposed to destroy her when he can’t even set eyes on her? He has messed everything up.
“I beg to take my leave now,” And with that, the priest stands up and walks out of his chamber, leaving him to sort himself out…
Blue Moon pack…
Cassie…
‘I regret ever meeting you! I regret ever trusting you. What was I even expecting from the daughter of a traitor? You’re no different from your dad, and you know what? I hate you so much!’ His words echo in my head for the umpteenth time, and I can’t hold the tears that stream down my cheeks. I never thought that it’ll hurt this much, but here I am, dying slowly.
With all the strength left in me, I manage to sit up on the cold floor, trying so hard to hold the waves of pain that shoot through me. It feels as if I was beaten and had my bones broken. My eyes feel heavy, and my whole body hurts badly. What the hell was I even expecting? It has been three whole days since I have been here, and guess what? I wasn’t given anything to eat, and nor did I receive any visitors. I thought living with Robert was the worst day of my life, but turns out that what I felt back then from my own father wasn’t close to pain. The pain I’m feeling now cannot be compared to the one I felt when my father treated me badly.
The sudden sound of the chain on the gate pulls my attention, and I move back as fear grips me. The prison is dark, so it’s difficult to see the person that just walked inside.
“Who… Who is there?” I stutter nervously, pressing my back hard against the wall as I shake slightly.
“It’s me, Zoey…” Hearing Zoey’s voice, my fear slowly disappears, and I gulp down nothing.
“Zoey?” I call out to her almost in a whisper, trying to reach her with my hand. My hands finally locate her after a few seconds, and she suddenly pulls me into her arms, while I cry bitterly on her shoulder.
“I didn’t do it, Zoey. Why’s nobody believing me?” I cry painfully, while she pats my hair.
“Don’t cry, Cassie. I believe you,” It seems like she’s the only one that believes me. Kai was supposed to be my friend but even believed them. He believes that I poisoned the alpha. He hasn’t come to visit me yet for the past three days.
“How did you get here?” I ask her curiously. The last time I checked, nobody is allowed in here as the gate outside is heavily guarded with guards.
“Beta Kai asked me to bring you food. He would’ve come around by himself, but it’ll be suspicious, so he sent me instead,” She explains to me, and I nod my head. Turns out that I overthought everything and misunderstood him.
“Here, have some food,” She hands me some rice ball, and I grab it from her. I devour the rice like a hungry lion, almost choking on it. What were you expecting? I haven’t had anything to eat for the past three days, so this reaction toward food is absolutely normal, right?
A few minutes later…
“Did you hear about it? Alpha Damien’s twin brother is back in the castle,” I stop abruptly, and slowly raise my gaze to look at her confusingly as her words sink into my head.
“Huh?” I finally ask her to be sure I heard her right.
“Alpha Damien has a twin brother. He has been away for a few years, and he just got back yesterday. Guess what, he’s the opposite of what alpha Damien is. I heard he’s more dangerous than the alpha, but he looks so innocent and gentle outside. You’ll think he can’t hurt a fly, but he’s a beast within,” The way Zoey says it is so scary and creepy, but I try not to create a horrific scenario in my head. If anyone can be more dangerous than alpha Damien, then I think Lucifer would be learning from him.
“What are you still doing there? It’s time to leave,” The guard’s voice sounds from outside.
“I have to go now. I’ll find a way to come and check up on you later,” And with that, she stands up and strides out of the prison, leaving me all alone with my fate again…
