Cassie Robert…
“Who’s there?” I ask as I stretch my neck forth to check around. I bet someone is around here, but I have no idea where the person is.
“What are you doing with him?” The voice sounds somewhat familiar, and I squint my eyes, trying to recall where I must’ve heard the voice from before. I’m sure I’ve heard that voice before but I have forgotten where I have heard it from. Still trying to recall, he suddenly pops out from behind the tree in front of me, and I flinch. It’s the person I saw in the garden some time ago. The one that had tattoos on his arm and chest. Gosh! I have forgotten his name.
“Oh, it’s you?”
“Milo…” He calls, and the cat meow at him. What! Does he know the cat?
“Do you by chance…”
“Yes. That’s milo, my cat. Did it trouble you?” He asks with a questioning look on his face, and I quickly shake my head.
“Not at all. I saw it wandering in the garden, and I felt it’ll be thirsty, so I gave it some water. I thought it got lost, so I was going to adopt it,” I explain to him, and he nods his head.
“Oh, that’s thoughtful of you. Milo must’ve come here to look for me when he didn’t see me inside the house,” He replies to me, and I smile. Wow! The cat is so smart, I wish to own one soon.
“Wow! The cat is not just cute, but he’s also smart,” I say to him honestly.
“Yeah. Did you say you were going to adopt it?” He asks with a blank expression on his face.
“No… no… no it’s not what you think. I didn’t steal it, I was just trying to help…” I didn’t say that you stole it, so can you calm down? I have been busy lately so I didn’t have enough time to spend with him and take care of him, so because of that I have been looking for someone that’ll help me look after him. Will you help me?” He asks, and I glance at the kitten. He can’t possibly be serious, right? Why would he even ask me that? Of course, I will take care of it with all honors.
“Yes, I will,” I reply to him excitedly.
“One more thing. Can you always bring him here every evening?” He asks.
“Of course, I can. Thank you so much for this,” I reply to him.
“It’s fine. I’ll be on my way now,” he finally turns around and walks away…
Alpha Damien’s chamber…
Alpha Damien sighs for the umpteenth time as he leans over the rail on his balcony. He has been trying to get rid of these thoughts that have filled his mind, but the more he tries to, the more he finds himself thinking about it. Recalling the look on her face when he came out of his room earlier, he can’t help wondering what could have caused her anger and why she looked at him like that.
“Cassie…” He mumbles softly as he places his hand on his chest feeling his heartbeat that’s no more normal. It’s racing more than it should be. Could it be that his heart is racing at the thought of her or is it just his hallucination? He questions himself for the umpteenth time and sighs deeply again. What is going on?
“Are you in love with her?” His wolf suddenly pops up in his head, disrupting all his thoughts, and he finds himself growling silently.
“No!” He replies to his wolf in telepathy. How could he even ask him such a question? This girl is the daughter of his enemy, how can he possibly be in love with her? Besides, he doesn’t believe that shit they call love does exist, and even if it does, Cassie would be the last woman he would ever allow himself to fall in love with. She’s not his type, aside from the fact that she’s his enemy’s daughter.
“Come on, Damien. We are one, and I know you almost more than you know yourself. It’s written all over you, it’s not something you can deny. Why not be true to yourself?” His wolf growls inside him again, and he falls silent for some seconds. Is he really in love with her? Is he trying to deny his feelings for her or… What’s happening?
“I’m not in love with her, Kilian. That’s not possible,” He replies to Kilian, his wolf in telepathy, unsure of his statement.
“Alright then. It’s just a matter of time before you’ll realize the truth. It’s written all over you, and it’s not something that you can deny. Try to free up your mind, I’m sure you’ll learn the truth. Besides, she’s not that bad. She’s beautiful, she has a perfect body shape, and the sweetest thing is that she’s innocent and naive. I’m sure you want to know more…”
“That still doesn’t change the fact that she’s the daughter of a traitor, Kilian…”
“The daughter of a traitor, and not the traitor herself. Does it matter? Her father is the one that…”
“The seed of a traitor is not different from their source. She’s his daughter, and that makes them one. She may turn out to be a traitor like her father. We’re not talking about this again, so just leave me the hell alone,” He cuts Kilian off in telepathy.
“My bad. I’m just trying to…”
“Is there a way you can stop living inside me? You’re too annoying and I can’t stand you,” Alpha Damien cuts Kilian off.
“Sorry to disappoint you, but we’re both buddies that has to live together forever. We’re one, and can’t be separated…”
“And that is why I’m so pissed at you. I wish that I can get rid of you. You’re so annoying,” He scoffs loudly this time as he rolls his eyes.
“In your dreams. We’re together forever,” Kilian replies to him, and he grits his teeth…
