Actually, I knew I would see Sean Jessop after I got out of jail.
But I didn’t expect it to happen so soon.
I hid behind a pillar and heard someone from the hotel greet him warmly.
From their conversation, I probably knew that this hotel belongs to the Jessop Family.
“I can walk after you like a shadow chasing the light…”
I hid behind a pillar and waited for them to leave before the phone rang.
It was Angie’s call.
I dared not answer it. I just took the phone and rushed into the hall.
As soon as I got in, Angie stood in there and looked at me. When she confirmed that I was June Carter, she began to arrange work for me.
Angie used to work in a big company. When I went, she didn’t treat me as an assistant, but as a servant.
In addition to taking materials and checking projects, I even need to help her buy water and throw rubbish.
Although it may be beyond the capacity of assistant work, it is much happier than being in prison.
I did everything she told me to do.
As a result, when Angie saw how useful I was, she began to let me help her with her personal affairs.
At noon, she went to dinner and asked me to supervise here.
I wait from 12 o’clock until 3 p. m.
I was hungry.
As soon as I went out to look for her, I heard Angie’s voice coming from the shade of the corner.
“Haha, yes. I thought Daniell Cook doted on her. As a result, she was not technically competent, so she would like to be my assistant.”
“I’m hanging her out until she can’t do it anymore, so I guess she’ll quit.”
“Yeah, after all, I want to be his girlfriend. I lost ten million dollars in a month just to work for his company. How can I be replaced by a woman who comes out of nowhere?”
When I heard this, I knew it all at once.
The only reason Angie did this to me was because of Daniell.
During the week I came back, Daniell went to my office almost two or three times a day and cared about everything in spite of my refusal.
This has caused dissatisfaction among many colleagues.
But I didn’t think it would affect my work as an assistant.
I walked out.
When Angie saw me, her expression became unnatural. Then she hung up the phone and said unhappily, “I asked you to supervise the workers. What are you doing here?”
“Angie.”I took a step forward, “I think you’re worried so much about Daniell.”
When Angie heard about Daniell, she came back.
I went on to explain, “Daniell just gave me a job because I was his junior schoolmate, and you don’t have to target me at all, because Daniell can’t possibly like me.”
“Why?”
Angie obviously didn’t believe it.
“Because I was pregnant and then divorced. Do you think such a good Daniell would like a divorced woman?”
When I finished, I distinctly saw an unexpected look on Angie’s face.
But soon, she was delighted.
She didn’t answer my words. She just allowed me to go to dinner.
And for the next few hours, she didn’t treat me as a slave and she told me what to look out for.
Work is over in the evening.
I walked out of the hotel and saw Daniell waiting for me at the door.
He saw me and waved to me. I looked around and didn’t find Angie.
Although she left, I went up to Daniell and said,” Mr. Cook, I don’t want to be special.”
Daniell didn’t seem to think I would say that. He was a little stunned. Suddenly he grabbed my wrist with one hand.”June, I thought I said so much and did so much. You’ll understand my mind.”
As I struggled, I heard Angel’s voice behind me,” Mr. Cook, you are here.”
Though her voice was peaceful, I could hear the anger in it.
