Erasmus Rolan said, “Yes? How can my protection of Gertrudis Rolan, and that of her bodyguards, be the same as that of her future husband? She even told me that she would never marry you. At the moment, Gertrudis Rolan is of marriageable age according to our marriage age laws in R. I see …”
Before Erasmo Rolan could finish his sentence, Eduardo Tercero calmly interrupted, “I guess you really don’t care much about my private life, Presidente.”
Erasmo Rolan froze, without reacting to the meaning of Eduardo Tercero’s words.
Eduardo Tercero spoke with a slight smile: “I already have a girlfriend, the kind that gets married”.
Erasmo Rolan froze: “How does Mr. Eduardo have time for a girlfriend if he is so busy, it is strange to hear him”.
From what Erasmo Rolan knew of Eduardo Tercero, he was an ambitious and ruthless man, too busy with politics and work to hear that Eduardo Tercero was in love with a young woman from his family. Erasmo Rolan came to think that the girl with whom Eduardo Tercero had the most contact was Gertrudis Rolan.
He did not believe that Eduardo Tercero liked Gertrudis Rolan, although he also did not believe that Eduardo Tercero liked other girls, or even that Eduardo Tercero considered himself close to Gertrudis Rolan anymore.
“Having come out this month, it’s only natural that the president didn’t know about it. But Princess Gertrudis has always been like a sister to me.”
Erasmus Rolan’s eyes sank, and when he looked up at Edward the Third, they already contained a faint smile, but it was a forced smile. “Which of the ladies of the other family is better than Gertrudis Rolan?”
Eduardo Tercero said lightly, “She’s not a girl, she’s just a feral cat I picked up on the road.”
“How could I forget, after all you are a young man and you still like to have fun, all men, and I can understand that, it is not impossible for a little wild cat to have fun, but the person who becomes your wife should not be a random kitten or puppy you pick up.”
The man’s long fingers gently tapped the handle of his coffee cup, as if unintentionally, without approval, “I don’t care much about the prestige status my future one has, because I don’t need to use my wife’s status to make some exchange of benefits. There is only one condition to be my wife, and I like it.”
With words that both reject Erasmo Rolan and insinuate that the latter is using his own daughter’s marriage as a bargaining chip, Erasmo Rolan becomes enraged and his face turns greener than the water in his cup of coffee leaves.
Eduardo Tercero looked at his wristwatch. It was half past eleven, time for lunch.
The man got up slowly and calmly: “President, if there is nothing else I will say goodbye. I have a little feral cat at home waiting for me to feed it.”
“I can’t imagine Mr. Eduardo being so affectionate and taking in little stray cats.”
Eduardo Tercero stood up and straightened his suit, his thin lips curved slightly, “A passing interest, so I adopted him, it’s good to keep him for fun.”
Eduardo Tercero suddenly looked back as he reached the entrance of the parliament, he looked at Erasmo Rolan and threw out a half joking, half serious comment, “The president is still only fit to be president, the president is not really fit to be a moonbat, he is anathema to moonbat.”
When Eduardo Tercero came out of the conference room on his long legs, Erasmo Rolan cupped his coffee cup and slammed it on the floor with such force that the coffee water splashed all over the floor and wet the carpet.
When the secretary heard the noise, she knocked on the door and entered.
Erasmo Rolan ordered in a cold voice, “Send someone to find out who Eduardo Tercero’s last girlfriend is.”
“Yes.”
Since it’s an unknown woman, it sure won’t last long. He can’t let that unknown woman interfere with his plans, and Eduardo Tercero and Gertrudis Rolan must marry successfully too!
