By now, the rain was coming down even harder and the search and rescue team was running out of personnel to send out.
One by one, the search and rescue teams came up.
The search and rescue team told Eleanora Lozada to try to find Jonathan Tasis, but Eleanora Lozada was always uncomfortable and, before long, ran up the mountain as well.
Dressed in a mackintosh and a pair of rain boots, with a torch in her hand to light the way, she shouted Jonathan Tasis’ name as she climbed the trail.
But the path was wet and slippery from the heavy rain, and each step was like walking on a frozen lake, with great effort and caution.
Eleanora Lozada had no strength to cry, she needed to save her strength to find Jonathan Tasis, calling his name with all her strength, she was very scared because of the mud, but her heart was strong and brave to find him.
Jonathan Tasis, where the hell are you?
It was still very dark after 4 o’clock in the morning.
Eleanora Lozada had been walking for who knows how long when her legs shook to the point of weakness and her foot gave way, sliding violently down the hill.
“Ah-!”
Her body rolled into a grassy patch, her hands clutched at the tree, and below her, a chasm.
She was at a height that was not very high, but a fall would have crippled or … injured the girl without killing her.
She looked down, and with a shudder in her heart and a slip of her hand, her palm scraped and slid down another half of her body.
She looked closely at the bent tree, which she had pulled from, and which, she feared, would last another twenty minutes or so before it broke and she too fell down the hill.
Eleanora Lozada clung to the branch in desperation, tears mingling with the rain and slipping silently down her face.
At this moment, all she could think about, surprisingly, was not how to ask for help, but every image she had of her time with Jonathan Tasis.
Each frame, like an out-of-print film, startling in its depth.
Just as the branch Eleanora Lozada was clinging to was about to break, a voice suddenly came.
“There’s a bright light over there, come closer and check it out!”
It was the bright light of the flashlight Eleanora Lozada carried in her pocket.
Her teary eyes opened and the will to live that had disappeared rekindled as she opened her mouth and screamed at the top of her lungs, “Help! Help … is anyone there?”
Jonathan Tasis, not far away, had shock waves under his eyes.
The voice … it was Eleanora Lozada’s.
He stopped in place for a second, lifted his legs and ran at a brisk pace toward the source of the sound, leaned over and saw that it really was Eleanora Lozada.
“Eleanora Lozada!”
She bent down and grabbed his arm.
Eleanora Lozada thought she was hallucinating, and in her blurred vision, the clear, timeless face was so clear, so sharp that it was somewhat unreal.
She murmured, “Jonathan Tasis…”
Is it really him?
Jonathan Tasis gripped her tightly, using all his strength, and commanded between clenched teeth, “Hold on to me! Give me your other hand too.”
Eleanora Lozada, transfixed, passes her other arm upward, effortlessly, until, with that long, slender hand, she engages his.
The moment Eleanora Lozada was lifted and they both fell to the mud, Jonathan Tasis’ hand, however, held her tightly, along with his body, protecting her and acting as a cushion of flesh for her, the man holding her tightly for fear of hurting her in the fall.
“Eleanora, it’s good that you’re okay, it’s good that you’re okay.”
There was a tremor in that ever calm and uncaring male voice.
A warmth crept into Eleanora Lozada’s neck, I don’t know if it was the rain or … Jonathan Tasis’ tears of fear.
At that moment, she didn’t want to think about all the barriers that separated them and raised her arms in response to his embrace.
“Jonathan Tasis, is that really you?”
Jonathan Tasis pulled her away slightly, his dark eyes fixed on her small, wet face, his large hands lifted her face, pressed against the back of her neck and kissed her on the lips.
The kiss, without any emotion. It was as if Jonathan Tasis sensed her presence in this kiss, and only when the slightest hint of blood and pain left the other’s mouth did Eleanora Lozada realize that this man was really Jonathan Tasis.
She raised her arms around his neck, tears and rain mingling on her face in a mess, and craned her neck in response to the searing kiss.
After a moment, the man released her slightly, his long, slender hand stroked her long, rain-dampened hair, his gaze was deep as he stared at her and asked in a muffled voice, “Are you hurt?”
Eleanora Lozada was crying inconsolably, she looked at him with teary eyes, sobbing and short of breath, asking, “Why did you come to the mountain to save me … Why did you come to Mountain City? You know I only thought that I would never really see you again … Jonathan Tasis… you fool!”
Jonathan Tasis looked down at her tear-stained face, but hooked his lips and stood up, taking her in his arms.
Eleanora Lozada unconsciously wrapped her arms around his neck, afraid she would fall.
“What are you doing? Just put me down, I can walk on my own.”
The female voice that had been crying, a little muffled but also soft, sounded like Eleanora Lozada pouting to Jonathan Tasis’ ears.
How could he let her down.
But, this man was domineering in his bones and indifferent in his face, just saying, “The way up the mountain is hard, if you fall again, whose fault is it?”
Eleanora Lozada: …
For some reason, even with these uncharitable and even slightly reprimanding words, Eleanora Lozada felt so moved that she couldn’t help but rest her wet little head on Jonathan Tasis’ arms and tighten her arms around his neck.
Jonathan Tasis was soaked from the rain and cold, but Eleanora Lozada felt warm and cozy in his arms.
On a rainy night, the trail was difficult to walk on, not to mention the weight Jonathan Tasis was carrying.
Although Jonathan Tasis may be in good physical shape, he is not made of iron.
Tulio Moralez, who was following them, even had no qualms about offering, “Boss, why don’t I come and give Miss Analena a bit of a ride.”
The result, as you can imagine, is predictable.
Jonathan Tasis replied decisively, averting his gaze slightly and looking down at the woman in his arms, “My own woman, I’ll hold her myself.”
Eleanora Lozada’s face was tinged with a blush, but it was dark enough for Jonathan Tasis not to see it.
Eleanora Lozada also tried several times to persuade that she could go, but Jonathan Tasis was so stubborn that he simply ignored her.
Near the base of the hill, Jonathan Tasis, who had been silent for a long time, suddenly opened his voice in a low tone and called out to her solemnly, “Eleanora Lozada. ”
Eleanora Lozada looked up at him, “What’s wrong?”
“I’m only going to say what I’m going to say next once, so listen carefully.”
“What, what words?”
Jonathan Tasis said, word for word, “Now I’m sure I love you. Maybe since you left me, or even before. As I said, the first time you stood in front of me, I recognized that you were not Analena Lozada, and although I pretended to think of you as Analena Lozada, over the long hours we spent together, I gradually realized that Analena Lozada was Analena Lozada and you were you. I also realized that I could not think of you as Analena Lozada, so I began to avoid you.”
Eleanora Lozada heard his words, with her face unhinged and tears rolling down her face, she sniffled and asked, “So?”
Jonathan Tasis continued, “For most of the time you were away from me, I followed your blog every day, looking at the pictures you took, trying to see how you were doing in those promotions. Oddly enough, you were the only person I thought about for the better part of a year. Every once in a while, I think of Analena Lozada, but it’s not a heartbreaking thought, it’s just a thought of mourning. It’s you who keeps me up late at night. I know the difference, it’s you, Eleanora Lozada, that I think of. “
