The next morning, Eleanora Lozada was about to go to class with her books when she was called into the principal’s office.
But as soon as she entered the office, Eleanora Lozada saw that Jonathan Tasis was already sitting in the principal’s office, having a good conversation with him.
The rector smiled kindly and said to Eleanora Lozada, “Professor Eleanora, President Jonathan said he had come to Mountain City yesterday to contact you. Jonathan.”
Eleanora Lozada froze and bit her lip, “Director, I’m sorry, I came back from the center so late yesterday that I forgot to tell you.”
The principal waved his hand and said cheerfully, “No problem, Professor Eleanora, I heard from President Jonathan that you guys usually have a talk, and President Jonathan just said he wanted to visit our school and see the sights of our Alquezar. Professor Eleanora, why don’t I give you the day off today and show President Jonathan around?”
“Principal … The truth is, I don’t know much about Alquezar. ”
Jonathan Tasis, sitting to the side, glared at her and spoke in a deep voice, “I just wanted to take a look around, what’s your inconvenience Professor Eleanora?”
The principal nudged Eleanora Lozada on the shoulder and said, “Professor Eleanora, you are the one who speaks the best Mandarin and you are the one who usually has the most contact with President Jonathan, and besides, President Jonathan will make a donation to our Alquezar School, which you also facilitate, and you will show President Jonathan our school and our village.”
Eleanora Lozada stiffened and had to say yes.
Outside the principal’s office, Eleanora Lozada followed slowly behind Jonathan Tasis, up to two arms lengths away, avoiding him like a snake.
Jonathan Tasis frowned and turned to look at her, deliberately making things difficult for her with his words, “Professor Eleanora, shall I show you around, or shall you show me?”
Eleanora Lozada pursed her lips and quickly approached, “Come on, President Jonathan, I’ll show you our elementary school. But our Alquezar School is small and there is not much to see; the money you donated, which the principal used to build the cafeteria and library, is not even finished yet.”
Eleanora Lozada steps forward, introducing herself, not caring whether Jonathan Tasis is listening or not.
Jonathan Tasis walked behind the petite woman, never taking his eyes off her slender back. Eleanora Lozada was wearing a half bob haircut, her hair was soft and had lots of little hairs, also this half bob was quite casual and looked shaggy, but remarkably light and comfortable.
“That is the small playground that the children used before, the director said that in some time a better playground will be built for the children, the money you donated is enough, the rest, the director plans to use it as a grant for the children whose families are really poor.”
Eleanora Lozada spoke intermittently, Jonathan Tasis did not say a word. Eleanora Lozada half spoke and thought Jonathan Tasis had disappeared and unconsciously turned her head to look at the man.
But with that eye roll, Eleanora Lozada met the man’s deep, dark eyes.
Eleanora Lozada hurried to look away, only to have Jonathan Tasis grab her wrist and wrap her in his arms.
Eleanora Lozada pushed his hands against her chest and glared at him, “What are you doing, this is a school!”.
Jonathan Tasis growled, “Do you really think I’m here to visit the school?”
“I don’t understand a word you’re saying, Jonathan Tasis, let go of me!”
The man’s thin lips curved, “Why don’t you call me President Jonathan anymore, didn’t you just say President Jonathan?”
Eleanora Lozada frowned and retorted dismissively, “Didn’t you just say Professor Eleanora?”
That said, Eleanora Lozada bit her tongue.
Jonathan Tasis, so quick to react, stared at the person in his arms, with a slight long lost smile flickering in the back of his dark eyes, “Instead of Professor Eleanora, what do you want me to call you then, Eleanora?”
Eleanora Lozada: “…”
Damn, why did she have to crawl into a hole?
Eleanora Lozada’s ears reddened with heat, she looked away and said stiffly, “Is the school still on tour? No, I’m going back to class!”.
Jonathan Tasis released her, not wanting to push her too hard for the moment, “Come on.”
The man straightened his cufflinks as if nothing had happened and headed for the school lunchroom.
Eleanora Lozada stood her ground, stared at the upright figure of Jonathan Tasis, took a deep breath and followed him.
