Tom Paul took one look and said excitedly, “Yes, it’s Benand Star!”.
Claudius Belles ordered, “Cut the crap and get to work!”
Dulcina Calvo has completely relaxed and only now has she calmed down: “Claudio Belles, thank you for saving me a moment ago”.
Claudio Belles, with his usual expression, said, “You came across the wolves to pick up the Benand star, and Esteban Zaragosa got hurt trying to save me, so I should have saved you, and if you get eaten by the wolves tonight, I won’t really be able to answer Esteban Zaragosa when he wakes up. I won’t really be able to answer him when Esteban Zaragosa wakes up.”
Dulcina Calvo narrowed her eyes and bit her lip, “I’m sorry for worrying you. I know I shouldn’t have burdened you all by going off on my own.”
Claudius Belles, in a rare instance, did not reprimand her, but merely cast her a faint glance and said, “Don’t take any more chances without permission in the future, you are not like us, you are barely able to defend yourself, and Stephen would be distressed if he woke up and knew that you were almost swallowed up by the wolves to pick up Benandstar.”
“I’m sorry, I just don’t want to stand idly by, I’m afraid that Esteban Zaragosa will die if I don’t find Benanstar and Toadstool King…”
Claudius Belles watched her cry and was surprised that she didn’t feel disgust; he hated unnecessary tears.
“Looks like I now know why Esteban chose you.”
Dulcina Calvo looked at Claudio Belles with some bewilderment.
Dulcina Calvo, I’ve lost you, you love Esteban Zaragosa more than I thought. ”
…
Esteban Zaragosa’s body was mostly cleansed of toxins after taking the antidote pills developed by Tom Paul, but he was still in a coma due to the previous toxin invasion.
Dulcina Calvo’s day of racing, combined with the scare and the roller coaster of emotions, left her body full of exhaustion as her whole body went slack.
She sat by Esteban Zaragosa’s bedside and watched him, her soft white hands caressing his forehead, brow bone and the bridge of his nose.
She looked up at him, resting her chin on her hands, and smiled sweetly, satisfied.
Outside the tent, Claudio Belles wanted to bring something for Dulcina Calvo to eat, but was about to enter when he saw Dulcina Calvo laughing at Esteban Zaragosa, who was unconscious on the bed, chin in hand.
She hooked her red lips and didn’t bother to go back inside.
Dulcina Calvo, hungry, took some chocolates out of her pocket, peeled the golden tin of chocolates with her little hands and put one in Esteban Zaragosa’s mouth, then peeled another one for herself.
Dulcina Calvo leaned her chin and stared at Esteban Zaragosa: “Esteban Zaragosa, when are you going to wake up, I have so much to say and so much to tell you”.
Dulcina Calvo watched over Esteban Zaragosa until her upper and lower eyelids struggled and she finally fell asleep next to Esteban Zaragosa’s bed.
…
Dulcina Calvo was in a daze, half awake, half asleep, when her body was lifted by a pair of arms and carried to a soft bed and a warm, firm chest.
Esteban Zaragosa looked at the little girl in his arms and she rubbed against him like a kitten.
The man’s fingertips gently rubbed the dark circles under his eyes; I’m afraid he hadn’t slept much in the last two days while I was watching him.
Esteban Zaragosa’s heart felt compassion and kissed his forehead downward.
Dulcina Calvo raised her hands unconsciously and wrapped them around his neck, with a laugh as if speaking in her sleep, “Esteban Zaragosa you can’t die … me and the baby are waiting for you …. …”
Esteban Zaragosa was slightly stunned, she and the baby?
What do you mean?
But Esteban Zaragosa, also tired, put his arm around her and went back to sleep.
…
In the second half of the night, Dulcina Calvo began to have dazed nightmares.
Inside the dream, wolves swarmed in all directions and besieged her.
She was terrified, but no one came to her rescue.
“Esteban Zaragosa … Help me! Ah – don’t eat me! I don’t taste good.”
Esteban Zaragosa awoke to the call of the girl next to him and sat up slightly to look at her small, frightened face.
“Honey, I’m here, is it a bad dream? Wake up. honey?”
In her ears, a low, soft male voice woke Dulcina Calvo.
Dulcina Calvo opened her foggy eyes and, as soon as she saw Esteban Zaragosa’s face, she threw herself into his arms.
“Esteban Zaragosa!”
The girl hugged him tightly with one hand, her small body trembling in his arms.
The man’s large hand caressed her slender back that trembled with fear, “It’s okay, I’m here, I’ll protect you.”
“I dreamt that the wolf was going to eat me…”
Esteban Zaragosa smiled slightly and said calmly, “Those wolves won’t dare eat you as long as I’m here.”
Dulcina Calvo’s forehead was covered with a cold sweat of fear when Esteban Zaragosa tousled her sweat-soaked hair and kissed her on the temple.
Dulcina Calvo, startled and awake, ran her little hand over his wound and asked, “Are you still uncomfortable?”
“It’s not hard anymore, don’t worry.”
Dulcina Calvo breathed a sigh of relief, “Thank goodness Dr. Tom Paul’s medical knowledge has brought you back, otherwise what would he have done with the baby.”
“What did you say, you and who?”
Dulcina Calvo bit her tongue as the words came out of her mouth, oops, I think it slipped out.
I did have to tell her about her pregnancy, but … not under these circumstances, and certainly not with such a casual snack.
The girl unconsciously covered her mouth with both little hands, looked at Esteban Zaragosa with wide eyes and shook her head violently: “Nothing, I didn’t say anything”.
