Helicopters are constantly flying in the air, over the mountains, over the islands.
Esteban Zaragosa looked at the man next to him and faintly reminded him, “You are a long way from your destination, close your eyes and get some sleep.”
Dulcina Calvo was tired, but now she was sitting in the helicopter, without a hair to spare, with Esteban Zaragosa at her side, and she couldn’t sleep.
The girl’s two large, dark, watery eyes stared at his handsome face in the darkness.
This handsome face has been longed for.
It had been more than half a month since they had seen each other and had no contact. For a couple suddenly separated in the heat of love, these ten days without a word were like years.
Esteban Zaragosa seemed to feel the girl’s burning gaze, and with a sliding lump in his throat, he opened his voice in a low tone, “I will not disappear, and I will not leave you now, sleep in peace, and when you wake up, you will still see me.”
But women are greedy creatures, and Dulcina Calvo glared at him and asked earnestly, “And then, will you leave me in the future?”
She listened very carefully to every word he said, every sentence, what he had just said was that he would not leave her now, that is, for the moment, he would not leave her, could he later?
Esteban Zaragosa’s throat rolled twice more and, after a long moment, he finally said, somewhat helplessly, “Later, later.”
He could not bear to refuse her, but he could not give any definite promise of life.
Dulcina Calvo bit her lip, a watery look in her eyes, and said stubbornly, “But you still like me, don’t you? If you still like me, why did you break up with me? I know you like me, otherwise you wouldn’t have risked your life to save me. Why did you lie, I want an answer.”
“The girl…”
She cried.
She buried her little face in her knees, moaning stoically like a wounded beast, her slender shoulders shaking uncontrollably.
She did not cry when she was kidnapped by a shadowy figure; she did not cry when she was locked up for two or three days; she did not cry when a gun was held to her head, but even though she was frightened, she did her best to calm her emotions and buy time.
But … now … clearly all safe and secure, she even saw her favorite man, the moment when the nerves of her whole body relaxed, but she cried uselessly.
“Mentor … why did you leave me…”
The sound of a choked sob reached the ears of Esteban Zaragosa, who thought he heard a roar and a collapse in his heart.
The girl softly and glamorously called him mentor, as if she had given him all her trust, only to be cruelly abandoned by him.
Dulcina Calvo was crying inconsolably as she lifted her small, wet face and looked to the front of the helicopter, clearly describing what had happened recently.
“They kidnapped me to threaten you … I wanted you to come and save me … but I was afraid to wait … I was afraid that you didn’t really care for me anymore … afraid that you didn’t really love me anymore…”
Her tears, one by one, hit the back of her hand, and her eyes were red and pitiful, like a kitten abandoned by its owner.
She sobbed and added, falteringly, “But … but I was afraid you would come to save me … because I was afraid you were in danger … but … when you come to save me … I am so happy and so happy again…”
In the darkness, Esteban Zaragosa’s hands grew tighter and tighter as he maneuvered the helicopter, and his eyes grew hotter and hotter.
A man’s tears are not shed lightly, especially when a man like him, who often walks on the brink of life and death, is not even afraid of life and death, so what could his tears be worth.
But Esteban Zaragosa’s heart ached to hear the girl next to him speak with such attention and resignation.
As her heart poured out, Dulcina Calvo’s tears became more intense, and finally she could not hold them back any longer and said in a muffled voice: “Esteban Zaragosa … I love you … ”
The man driving the helicopter, with his shaky form.
Dulcina Calvo, who had gone so long without getting an answer, finally gave up and buried her face in her knees again, hugging herself tightly.
“I’m sorry … I won’t say it again…”
The helicopter, after flying over a ravine, landed slowly on a flat area.
Dulcina Calvo kept her head buried and, along with the loud roar of the helicopter, was unaware that she had landed.
Esteban Zaragosa sat in the cockpit and calmed down for about four or five seconds, but the shock in his heart still shook him deeply.
The man reached out, grabbed the girl’s slender body, took her small chin and sealed it with a kiss.
Dulcina Calvo was stunned for a moment, but only for a few seconds, and realizing that he was kissing her, the girl reached up and wrapped her arms firmly around his neck, responding to the emotional and complex kiss in a raw way.
It wasn’t until Dulcina Calvo was out of breath that Esteban Zaragosa let go of her slightly.
The two were so close to each other that Dulcina Calvo’s tears and snot ran down her face, and she sniffled and looked pitifully at the man holding her in the small space, her voice muffled and weak as she asked, “Tutor, will you take me now?”
To be honest, Esteban Zaragosa did not have an answer in mind.
“My job, girl, is more dangerous than you can imagine. Scenes more dangerous than today’s are the rarest and most common in my job. Can you really accept to be with such a precarious man? That would make you very tired.”
Dulcina Calvo bit her lip and looked at him with pleading eyes, her voice trembling, as she said, “So, will you give up this job for me? I … want you to be safe and alive.”
“Girl, I’m sorry.”
Dulcina Calvo raised her hand and wiped her eyes hard, trying to force a smile as she asked, “So, your job, is it to hurt?”
“No. But I may have to kill a lot of people.”
Dulcina Calvo froze: “A bunch …? How many are there?”
Esteban Zaragosa looked at her deeply, “I lost count.”
Dulcina Calvo didn’t know whether to cry or laugh, she must have an ugly expression on her face right now, but she still said, “It’s okay, I know you must have killed bad people, it’s just killing, I’ve seen those kinds of agents of mysterious organizations and such on missions all the time in movies…. you’re one of those aren’t you? I can take it, I can… woo, woo, woo…”
At the end of her speech, Dulcina Calvo burst into tears again.
Esteban Zaragosa took her little head, pushed her into his arms and hugged her tightly.
“I’m sorry I didn’t share with you the basics of me before I messed with you. I’m sorry that … you fell in love with me.”
Esteban Zaragosa closed his eyes deeply, tilted his head slightly to one side, kissed her compassionately on the temple and only hugged her tighter.
