It took almost ten hours of driving on the road to reach the destination.
It was getting dark, it was twilight, the weather wasn’t great, but it didn’t look like it was going to rain, and it was perfect weather for whale watching.
Estrella Berrocal sat in the motorhome, looked out the window and asked curiously, “It’s a nice view, but what are we doing driving all the way out here from the Hawaiian Islands?”
The scenery on the island of Hawaii is much better than here.
By then, Adán Rouco had gotten out of the car and was standing in front of the window, which Estrella Berrocal had opened to face him unobstructed. Estrella Berrocal was standing inside the car, with half of her body already leaning out, when Adán Rouco suddenly extended his arm and pulled her through the huge open window and took her in his arms….
Estrella Berrocal exclaimed: “Hey, …. Adán Rouco! Why did you put me out the window instead of going through the door of a nice car?”.
Adán Rouco’s dark eyes looked sideways at her: “Don’t you think your husband is very strong?
“… … … a bit dangerous for such a husband.”
“I’ll drag you under, what danger can there be, I’ll be the one to serve you as a meat cushion if you fall. ”
Estrella Berrocal said with disgust on her lips but with sweetness in her heart, patting him on the shoulder: “Put me down, what the hell are we doing here in the middle of nowhere?
Adán Rouco stands next to her on a huge reef.
The man’s dark eyes fixed firmly on her and his tone dropped to a serious one, “Remember? We once made a pact.”
The sea breeze messed up Estrella Berrocal’s hair, which was getting longer and longer, Estrella Berrocal stood up and tousled it a little, tucking it behind her ear, not caring or thinking deeply. “What’s wrong?”
“When I was at Underwater World, I said I would take you to the beach in an RV to see the whales afterwards.”
Estrella Berrocal froze and looked at him with delighted eyes, “Do you remember?”.
I thought it was a casual arrangement, but I never thought he would remember and drive the camper for over ten hours to the beach to take her whale watching.
“But is it true that whales appear here in…?”
The only bad thing about coming to the beach to see the whales, although spectacular, is that it is unpredictable and you don’t know when the whales will show up, maybe not even after waiting many days, or maybe just after arriving.

The two were waiting for the whale when a wave hit the shore and Estrella Berrocal lost her balance, but Adán Rouco was quick enough to grab her.
Estrella Berrocal saw what appeared to be a pile of shells on the beach, not far away, and pulled Adán Rouco and said, “Let’s go pick up some nice shells to take to Paulita. She’s going to love them.
“A few nice shells to get rid of that tricky little guy? When we get home, be prepared to find out how you’re going to explain it.”
Estrella Berrocal twisted his arm: “You’re the one who took me out on the sly, how come I’m the one who has to give explanations, Adán Rouco, you’re very bad?
“I have to keep the image of the high and mighty father in Paulita’s mind. You know, when it comes to teaching children, you have to make them fear at least one, and obviously Paulita is not afraid of you at all.”
Estrella Berrocal bent down and picked up a handful of sand and threw at Adán Rouco: “Adán Rouco you are very shady!”.
Adán Rouco took a few strides down the beach and was soon away from Estrella Berrocal, who kept kicking up sand at him as the two playfully chased each other down the beach for several rounds.
In the end, Estrella Berrocal got tired and got sand in her shoes, so she sat down on the beach with a gesture of dismay and refused to keep running.
Adán Rouco smiled and approached her, pulling her hair, “Tired of this? Didn’t you say you were going to look for shells for Paulita?”.
Estrella Berrocal glared at him: “It’s your fault, my shoes are full of sand and they rub my feet”.
Adán Rouco knelt down, frowned a little, grabbed her ankle and was about to take off her shoe and help her pour the sand when Estrella Berrocal took advantage of him ducking his head, grabbed a handful of sand and threw it directly on his neck, rolling and crawling as soon as he had done his evil deed.
Adán Rouco was still crouched in his place, amused at being fooled by that girl. The man shook the sand from his neck as he stood up, looking with a helpless smile on his face at the small woman who was a little away from him, and raised his hand to make a sign to her.
“Come here you.”
Estrella Berrocal didn’t dare approach and kept shrinking back, clutching her stomach in amusement, “I’m not going there, you laugh so little sincerely, you must have a great trick up your sleeve to catch me, I’m not going there.”
“Estrella Berrocal, come here, don’t wait for me to come over there to clean you.”
Estrella Berrocal had a skeptical smile on her face, “No, you would clean me even if I offered to go there.”
Adán Rouco raised his hand and shook the sand around his neck, he looked down and kept a deliberate silence for a few seconds, just as Estrella Berrocal let her guard down, the man lifted his long legs and ran past, Estrella Berrocal was slow and the man caught her from behind in an instant.

“You have to be punished for getting it wrong.”
“Whatever you want without filling the sand! Ah-”
The man suddenly lifted her up and spun her in place so many times that Estrella Berrocal rushed to wrap her arms around his neck, spinning her head around.

If this is punishment, let’s make it more violent!
The two play and have fun on the beach with abandon, with the sound of the waves, the sea breeze and laughter.
Estrella Berrocal collected many shells of beautiful shapes and colors on the beach, put them in her pockets, got tired of collecting them and leaned on the back of Adán Rouco, who carried her on his back during the long, long walk along the beach.
Estrella Berrocal stood over Adán Rouco’s shoulder, her watery eyes staring directly into the man’s face, smiling sweetly, “Go faster, honey, I’m so tired of being on your back.”
Adán Rouco reached out and squeezed her thigh: “You’re getting ahead of yourself, aren’t you?”.
Estrella Berrocal put her hands around his neck, behind his back, and laughed for a long, long time.
“Adam, look, the whale!”
As Adán Rouco turns his back to the sea, Estrella Berrocal hurries to take out her camera and press the shutter as two whales leap from the sea, forming a beautiful, graceful and powerful arc in the air, and soon, from the air, they dive into the sea.
Estrella Berrocal was having her photo taken when Adán Rouco looked out at the whales jumping out of the sea and asked, “Do you know why whales jump?”
“I don’t know, why, go up for fresh air?”
“That’s one aspect, but there’s a more important point; whales jump to find mates or to challenge other males, and females often choose whales that can jump as mates.”
Estrella Berrocal listened with some amusement and cocked her head at him, “Whales have such a simple and brutal way of choosing their mates, do you think we could be mates if we were both whales?”
