Stefan’s POV:
“Giselle, baby, that rascal is driving that damn truck like a bloody sports car at the moment!” I said, looking at the truck from the rear-view mirror.
“Then what are you waiting for? Increase the damn speed!” Giselle nearly shouted and I did as she asked.
The truck followed us like a bloody tail!
“Increase the speed more!” Giselle commanded.
“Baby, we are in the mountain area. We have already crossed the speed limit. The twists and turns are crazy here. If I increase the speed more, we are going to have an accident with or without the involvement of that red beast behind us!” I replied in an agitated tone.
“Fine, then I will call Kevin. He will call the police for us and inform them about our situation”, Giselle said while removing her cell phone.
Thankfully, there was no rush on the road today, and we lost the sight of truck due to a blind U-turn.
Giselle also stopped dialing Kevin’s number when the truck was nowhere to be found.
“Stef, I think I was overthinking, I think….” Giselle was in the middle of her statement when we were hit from behind, a harsh bump!
“What the f*cking hell!” I shouted angrily.
My car was almost on the verge of losing control, it was gliding left and right on the road like a snake. I somehow managed to control it and avoided falling into the valley.
Giselle’s cell phone fell and I couldn’t remove my cell phone as I was more focused on controlling my car.
“That b*stard slowed down on purpose! I don’t think he is in an emergency. He was sent by someone to attack us!” I shouted in an aggressive tone.
“I think so too!” She said in agreement.
“Are you okay, love? Did you bump into something?” I turned my head towards her and checked her out for any signs of a wound, but thankfully, there were none.
“No, I am fine. I was wearing my seatbelt”, she replied in a low voice.
“Thank God. Let’s get out of here before this guy tries something else!” I said in a polite tone and Giselle nodded.
I increased the speed even more to avoid the truck bumping into our car again.
She bent down to grab her cell phone from the car floor, when suddenly another truck came from our front, to directly bump into us from the front.
“NOOO!!” I said under my breath, while turning my steering wheel to the fullest and taking a sharp turn.
I was able to avoid bumping into the truck from the front but my car bumped into the trees from Giselle’s side.
Due to the sharp turn, Giselle was unable to grab her cell phone.
I held her hand and pulled her towards me before my car crashed on her side, to avoid her from getting hurt.
“What is happening, Stefan!” Giselle said. She was on the verge of crying.
“Someone wants us dead!” I replied honestly. I know lying would not be a better idea.
I don’t know how my car survived that crash or how it was still running.
But I know one thing, no matter what happens, I am going to protect my Giselle, even if it means I have to sacrifice myself. I won’t let anything happen to her.
We passed the truck coming from the front, but from the corner of my eyes, I saw two more trucks coming towards us from the front and there was no space for our car to pass.
The first truck is still tailing us. The second truck had stopped horizontally and that meant we couldn’t turn around and go back. These two new trucks won’t let us pass. We are stuck in the middle.
I looked at her worried face and smiled, “Don’t worry, love. I am here. I won’t let anything happen to you. Do you trust me?”
My heart was palpitating against my chest, the fear of separating from her was killing me. But still, even if I die, I will be happy if I could protect her and I will protect her with my last breath.
I know Kevin and Riven will keep her happy. I also know Riven has fallen for her. He won’t admit it in front of us any sooner, but I know my brother. The way he looks at her, the way he behaves when he is around her, I could tell what was going on in his rock-solid mind!
“More than anything!” She replied, looking at me with expressions that I wanted from my mate.
The love, pain, need, everything was there in her eyes. She should have looked at me like that sooner. But it’s okay, at least I got to see it before dying.
“I love you, Giselle!” was the last thing I said before I took action on my plan.
