—Derek’s POV—
Violet and I went on a date today. I loved it, I could tell she was nervous- even though there was nothing to worry about. We left the kids with Garret and Hannah, they were very excited to watch them for us.
We went on a picnic, then went on a nice run that we both enjoyed. It was very fun, I adored our time together.
I looked down at her as we walked to our house, the February air made her cheeks pink. The streaming sun shone on her- her eyes came alive when she looked up at, curious about my stare.
Honey eyes.
Lana has the same ones, I fucking adore them. However, Lana’s were darker, even in the light. I love our pups.
I slipped my hand from hers and wrapped my arm around her thin shoulders. I pulled her into me and pressed a kiss on her forehead. She smiled, circling her arm around my back.
“You’re so beautiful, Flower.” I kissed her forehead again when she looked up at me. I saw the doubt in her eyes and I couldn’t stand it. She was so perfect but she couldn’t see it.
I loved every inch of her, I didn’t care about those markings on her or the small stretch marks on her lower belly- I loved them. She was very sad about the stretch marks when she developed them in the pregnancy, it was natural for humans- some werewolves got them, some didn’t, it depended on size and pups.
Violet was a very thin woman, and she carried three pups for the majority of the pregnancy- I was expecting it. Violet wasn’t because there were still things she didn’t know and I couldn’t overwhelm her mind with information- I mean, she thought Christopher was her mate.
She cried for a few days, and I was always beside her.
I didn’t see an issue with them, if anything they made her prettier- even though ‘pretty’ was too simple for my extraordinary Flower. I don’t there is a single word to describe just how fucking stellar she is.
Her name would suffice.
Violet.
My beautiful, strong Flower, that gave me the world, expecting nothing in return. I’d give her anything and everything- she doesn’t have to ask.
She gave a forced, polite smile, “thank you.” She did that smile a lot around people- especially Zachary when he came to visit.
It wasn’t too noticeable that it was forced because of how well she did it, but when I’m with her all day, doing things, I pick up on stuff.
Like how I learned- if she feels self-conscious around me, whether she’s crying in my arms or standing silently in my embrace while her mind works- I don’t correct her right away. It was pointless because she wouldn’t retain anything I said. Wait until she calms, then talk- much easier and she could understand.
I moved my arm down to grab her waist, slyly pulling her chest against mine. She let herself be moved. She contrasted against the snowy backdrop and I smiled at her.
Fuck me- those eyes- fucking hell. How did I treat her like that?
“I love you so much, Violet, I don’t know how to describe it,” I watched as her cheeks heated and I pressed my lips against hers.
( ‘She’s so perfect…’ )
… Yes, she is…
Her hands wrapped around me and I pulled her small body closer to me, deepening our kiss. Her lips were so soft.
One of my hands went down to her ass, the moment I grabbed her- she pulled back from my lips. Longing invaded my system, I wanted her lips back on mine.
Her cheeks were flushed in embarrassment as she glanced around. I moved my hand up to her hair, brushing a strand. She looked back at me, biting her lip.
Shit, Flower…
I naturally went to kiss her again, she put her hand on my chest, turning her head. I looked at her, puzzled. The fu- what?
“We can do that in private, Bee,” she softly whispered to me. Fuck, I love her voice.
She amused me- in private? If she wasn’t so conscious about affection, I’d kiss her again but I simply hugged her into me, kissing the top of her head.
“Private?” I asked as I gave her another kiss. I felt her dig her face into my chest and I slipped my hands under her, slyly lifting her up.
She picked up on my move because she lifted her head.
“Put me down,” she frowned at me, “someone’s gonna see!” She said it as I cared. I didn’t- I couldn’t give a fuck.
“I’m good, Flower,” she pursed her pink lips at me. “I could give a fuck if they see us, I’m allowed to give you attention. Unless you’re trying to tell me something?” She narrowed her eyes at me.
“I just don’t want people to see…” she mumbled and I hugged her into me, wrapping her legs around me. I would’ve kissed her right then and there just to prove a point but I respected her enough to lay low.
“Flower, nobody’s here. And if they are, it’s warriors doing checks like they’re supposed to, no one cares,” I kissed her red cheeks. “Our pack, our rules, and I’ll snap their neck if they have any promiscuous intentions.”
She sighed out and relaxed into my body and I continued on our walk as she rested her head on my shoulder- her fingers at the end of my hair. She pressed a light kiss on my neck and my heart tugged.
“I love you,” she mumbled against me. Everything in my life lightened when she told me that, no matter what was going on, no matter how many times she said it.
“I love you too, Violet,” I slipped one of my hands under her shirt. She shivered against me and I rubbed her back. She sighed out and gave another kiss to my neck, I smiled.
“Do you want to go sit somewhere? We can go under a tree or something?” I asked her as I rubbed her back- accidentally running in with her bra strap a few times.
She pulled up- I immediately missed her- looking at me with her head tilted.
“You’ll get wet,” she frowned, “and cold!” she added and I bit my lip as I looked at her.
Fucking hell…
