Chapter 105- Socks

Book:The Alpha Published:2024-6-2

“Flower?” Benlyam called as I put on a pair of socks, then quickly threw on some boots.
“In here!” Benlyam opened the door, managing to keep the twins in his arms. He smiled when he saw me, eyes lightning up and I walked up to him.
I gave a peck to his lips and then kissed our sweet ones on the cheek.
“Pick your poison,” Benlyam gestured and I laughed.
I grabbed Lana and situated her, “they’re so sweet, such a liar, Bee,” I playfully glared at him and he smiled at me, kissing my forehead. “Remind me again why we have to go there, and then come back. Why can’t they just come back? They’ve been here before.”
Benlyam wrapped his arm around my shoulder as he walked out of the front door.
“If you couldn’t tell, they get on my nerves and I’d rather go meet them. I would leave you here,” just at those words, panic bubbled inside me. It was like separation anxiety but worse if I’m being honest. “But I’m not going to. And the twins like going out, they like looking around, people like to see them. Our cute little pups,” he smiled and pressed a kiss to Layton’s forehead
“I don’t want them to get too cold,” I worried as I glanced at Lana’s adorable face. Oh my, she was so precious, her huge brown eyes…
“They’re fine, Flower. They’re comfortable, they’d do something if they weren’t,” he rubbed my arm and I nodded, leaning my head on his shoulder as we neared the pack house.
“Bee?” He hummed, “who is who, again? I’m s-sorry, I don’t remember,” I felt my cheeks heat up, and Benlyam chuckled.
“Zachary is the Alpha and Scott is Beta. Zach is taller,” he pulled open the door and we were greeted by the indoor warmth. “I’ll greet them, I’m sure you’ll catch on,” he found my hand and held it as we walked in the lobby.
I nodded and we strolled hand in hand to where we met his brothers last time. They were easily spotted and they both beamed our way when they saw the little ones in our arms.
“Ben- Lee,” the taller one, Zachary greeted, walking our way. I don’t know why I did, but I flinched, it was ridiculous because I thought I was getting better. That name still bothered me, it was constantly repeated for who knows how many times. Benlyam scowled at him.
“I even sent you a fucking email, it’s not that hard,” he spoke coldly to him and Zachary rolled his eyes.
“Yeah, sorry, whatever. We grew up calling you it, sorry.” His sarcasm wasn’t appreciated by Benlyam at all.
“Zach, just chill out. Stop causing fights, just be respectful,” Scott said as he smiled at me, “Lyam, Violet,” he nodded and I smiled back.
“Scott, ” Benlyam replied, still pissy about Zachary’s comment. “Did someone get your bags?” Scott nodded as he peered down at Layton in his arms.
“Holy shi-” he stopped himself from cussing, “he looks just like you!” he chuckled. Zachary looked at him too and nodded.
“Has Dad’s eyes,” Zachary commented and Benlyam let out a light growl, I frowned.
Why would he even say that?
“Don’t compare my child to that fucker,” Benlyam pulled Layton closer to him.
Scott looked at Zachary, “dude, what’s wrong with you? Why would you even say that?” he scoffed and Zachary rolled his eyes.
“I was just saying,” he shrugged and I raised my eyebrow at him.
“It’s not even true, Lee’s are a lot darker,” Scott said, “looks like you,” he finalized as he nodded at Benlyam. “Name?”
“Layton Thomas,” Benlyam smiled down at him and pulled me into him, wrapping his arm around my shoulder.
Zachary turned his attention to Lana, “Aw.”
Lana looked at him with her big eyes, she started to suck on her thumb, we took off their gloves when we got inside.
“And this is?” Zachary asked as he glanced at me then back at Lana.
“Lana.”
He looked back up at me, waiting, “Lana…”
“Lana Magnolia,” Benlyam finished as he rubbed my arm. Zachary hummed and I could feel the anger rising in Benlyam.
“Wow, she’s adorable,” Scott chimed. I smiled down at her and she moved her eyes from Scott’s face to mine. Her fingers slipped out of her mouth and she smiled her gummy grin. Scott awed.
“Beautiful children, really. Such a small nose!” He seemed completely enamored with our twins. Zachary just stood and observed them, Benlyam was glaring at him.
Now would be a good time to take baby steps…
( ‘Offer… Mate is here if anything happens…’ )
“Would you like to h-hold her?” Scott looked up at me, and I felt Benlyam’s gaze on my face. Not a lot of people held our kids, I didn’t want anything to happen. Garret, Hannah, Reseda, Eva, and the midwife were the only people who held them.
I saw him look over at Benlyam and he shrugged. I held her out and carefully placed her in his arms. She lightly kicked her legs at his arms and he cocked his head to the side, smiling.
“Aw, you’re cute,” he cooed as she looked up at him with curious eyes. I smiled, proceeding with caution, as he lightly bopped her nose. “How old?” He asked me.
“Four m-months,” he nodded and Zachary hummed again, he didn’t seem interested.
… Then why come?…
“So, um, Z-Zachary,” he turned to me, seeming interested with what I had to say, “I heard you found your m-mate.”
