Chapter 66 Tonight
MIDNIGHT PACK: FINLAY INC
Tommy paced the room, his head threatening to split with the incessant ache he was feeling. He had started the day with some sort of bliss and was in the middle of experiencing a wild orgasm through Linda’s mouth on his dick. Not until Ava’s call came in to ruin his mood.
The audacity Jovy possessed as of late was something he would really need to check thoroughly. The fear of her knowing something that he has been hiding for years keeps striking him and he hoped fervently that it’s not what he is thinking. There had to be a way to bring her back home whether she liked it or not. They had to do something as urgent as they could. And now that she was back it would be easier for him to dispose her.
Picking up his phone, he dialed Ava but she didn’t pick at first and it kept taking him to her voicemail.
“Pick up your damn phone!” He yelled at the empty room.
Jovy was really going to drive him crazy. He was still contemplating on what to do when the door burst open again.
“Linda really?” Tommy whined as he turned towards the door. Rage made him go blind as the least set of people he expected to see walked into his office.
“You have got to be kidding me!” Tommy spat in distaste.
“You don’t seem happy to see us.” Brandon said with a raised a brow.
The other brothers looked towards each other with amused expressions. Tommy could tell there was an inside joke they had made before barging in on him.
“I have never been happy to see any of you from the beginning.” Tommy responded.
Carlton snickered, settled himself into a chair and he also placed his legs on the table. “It’s such a shame to think that all we think about is to see you.”
Herald snorted in return as he also took a seat. “Aren’t we family now? At least shouldn’t all this despise have dissipated after all these years?”
Rubbing at his head, Tommy sat down with all of his energy leaving him. “I really can’t stand any of you and I don’t think that’s a new thing.”
“It is a shame though. Love should live here by now.” Brandon said. He sounded sincere.
“What are you all doing here?” Tommy inquired.
“Our last discussion, we haven’t heard you say anything about it.” Herald was the one who responded.
Tommy stared in disbelief. “That was barely two weeks ago, how do you expect me to have sorted it out yet?”
“You promised you would, do you really want to spend the rest of your life behind bars?” Carlton questioned him.
Leaning further into the chair, Tommy wished he could actually disappear. The more the problems keep mounting the more he wished he had never met Elena and he wouldn’t have had to deal with the pathetic brothers and Jovy. But he had also had a choice and he could have chosen to stay away from the drama, rather, he had chosen to live it.
One thing at a time, instead it was always several things at a time for him to solve. He was really getting tired. All he wanted now was to sell off the company without any of them knowing and move far away with Linda and their children to start up a new quiet life. But he had to play smart at the same time and getting Jovy off the equation was the most important thing to do at the moment.
He needed to call Ava again and affirm if the deal with the pack council was still on. He was desperate to know whether by nook or crook Jovy has to leave.
“What’s gotten your tongue tied?” Carlton jested.
Tommy glared at him. Paying him no mind, he stood up and cleared his throat. Tommy held onto the back of his chair as he stared squarely at the brothers. “I need a few more days to sort this and we would be fine. Till then I really don’t want to see any of your faces.”
Carlton guffawed as he placed a hand on his chest. “That’s so hurtful, is that all you see us as? A disturbance?”
Giving Carlton a once over, Tommy didn’t hesitate to say exactly how he feels. “You bother me too much and I really cannot take it. If you will please excuse me…” He made a dramatic pause by staring at his wristwatch. “I have a meeting in five.”
They all stood up without much ado but Herald turned towards him as his brothers walked out. “We are trusting your word, if there is no positive response at the end of the week we would definitely take matters into our own hands.” With that Herald walked away and shut the door closed.
Tommy threw out his foot out and air kicking violently. He almost cussed out loud when the door opened and he only calmed himself when it was just Linda.
“What’s wrong baby?” Linda looked worried as she hastened her steps towards him.
Tommy growled as he placed his head on the table. “This people will be the death of me.”
Guiding him to seat down, Linda began to massage his shoulders. “Calm down, why are they here again?”
Tommy threw his head back. “Remember what I told you about some days back on them wanting to get rid of Jovy?” Linda nodded in response, so he continued. “They came to affirm if I had done it.”
Linda gasped out. “Have they lost their minds? Don’t they have children?”
Tommy shut his eyes tightly. He had harkened to Linda’s advice of not involving himself in getting rid of Jovy. Linda told him to consider Jovy as his daughter, being a father himself and if he would ever wish for his own child to be killed. This was why he had pushed it to Ava knowing how desperate she could be to get any obstacle out of the way of whatever she holds dear. It was the reason behind him seeking for her help and the alternative they have now seem like an easy one to adopt.
“What do you plan on doing now?” Linda asked.
She hoped he wouldn’t involve in their mess again cause it was bad enough that he had an involvement in Elena’s death and keeping it away from everyone. But letting greed define his thoughts and end up killing an innocent child like Jovy, Linda definitely wasn’t going to allow such to happen. There was no fun in telling her son that his father resides in a prison.
“I have been trying to reach Ava to affirm the deal with the pack council but she hasn’t been picking up her calls. I guess I would have to discuss that during dinner tonight.” Tommy explained almost running out of breath.
“Which implies you won’t be available for dinner tonight with your children.” There was an underlying tone in Linda’s voice.
“Baby.” Tommy held her hands. “You know I wouldn’t miss it for anything.”
“But you are already doing so and I am tired of giving excuses to the kids on your behalf.”
“I promise to make it up to you guys soon. Please, all I need is some more time.”
Linda kissed her teeth as she pulled her hands away from his hold. “All I am saying is you should act as fast as you can before you end up losing your children and I too.”
Turning her back in annoyance, Linda walked out of the room and left Tommy with his thoughts. The head ache had plummeted into a migraine and it hurt so bad. He almost couldn’t comprehend anything anymore. Pulling out his drawer, he got an aspirin, popped two of it in his mouth and downed it with the water from the bottle on his table.
Tommy grabbed his car keys and suit. He was resolving the whole shit this very night.
