Chapter 51 This is unfair
MIDNIGHT PACK
Adrian stared in bewilderment, wondering what the hell had gone wrong in Ava’s head. Even if he doesn’t know every member of his pack and what they are up to, he would never forget Elena and most especially her daughter.
Some relationship were uncommon and so is his with Elena Finlay. Elena’s father, Jacob was his father’s best friend, an unbelievable form of friendship in the world of werewolves. As it wasn’t a close friendship between an Alpha and his Beta but between an Alpha and a member of his clan even though rich.
The two loved each other like brothers and had passed the affection on to their offsprings, which was himself and Elena. The both of them went wild, indulging in things their fathers would have never been in support of. Elena knew all about his escapades both in high school and college and the trouble she eventually found herself in, in the later years wasn’t hidden to him. Even though he had kept it to himself and promised to die with the secret despite being dead ridden by guilt everyday of his life.
As much as Adrian had distanced himself from anything as regards her, he had no intention to cause her offspring Jovy any harm especially not in this form of entanglement.
“Have you lost your mind?” Adrian blurted out when he finally got a hang of his thoughts.
Ava stared at him in shock as she wondered why he was overreacting.
“Get up!” Adrian ordered as he lifted her off his lap.
“Why are you becoming aggressive all of a sudden?” Ava looked pained.
“I should ask why you have lost a piece of yourself called a heart.” Adrian retorted.
Ava scoffed. “I don’t see how that is more important than the mess we have found ourselves in.”
“And you expect me to toss my best friend’s child and your best friend also like a lamb of sacrifice?”
Ava took her time to pull a chair out and settled in it before she threw him a blank look. “And?”
Adrian’s eyes widened like he had just seen a ghost. “Are you fucking kidding me right now?!” He exclaimed.
“That’s it!” Ava flared. “Don’t you give me that judgmental stare. Of course! I hate her and until death I would.” Blood rushed through Ava’s face as she seethed her teeth in anger.
She had been trying her hardest to keep calm but couldn’t find the muscle to do so. Elena was a thorn in her flesh despite being dead. They had been friends in college and she met Adrian through Elena. Ava had hated the connection both Adrian and Elena had shared almost immediately she started dating him. The two of them shared inside jokes that she couldn’t understand even when she and Adrian had a thing going.
Ava despised the fact that Elena had it all, her life was too easy and it angered her. Elena lived like a free bird, almost like she had nothing at all to worry about. Ava got more angered when Elena started seeing someone and the only person she could confide in was Adrian and not her. Being the faithful friend, he kept her secret up to date after all the years they had spent together.
She couldn’t take it anymore when Elena got married to a man who would do anything to keep her happy and she had to struggle with living out her shame in the pack. The hatred had been for a long while and had unfortunately extended to the deceased daughter.
“I still don’t want to believe you are saying this right now.” Adrian muttered, his hands over his mouth.
Jolting out of her reverie, she threw him a hot glare. “Like you have any other way around it. What crazy individual will toss his or her child to the Mystic Shadows monster whom they call their Alpha. Who?! Or you want your daughter in place?!” Ava taunted.
Adrian felt weak as his heart beat faster than usual. “Why her all of a sudden? What have you and Tommy been doing to her?” He mumbled.
Ava let out a snort. “Taking care of her when she doesn’t deserve it.”
“When did you become this cold and heartless?”
“Since birth.” She gritted.
“Does she know about this? How do you intend to break it down to her?”
“She doesn’t have to know yet but she would do as told.”
“What’s the catch exactly?”
Ava blew at her manicured fingers. “Nothing. Tommy needs her to be taken care of and the situation on hand seems perfect for a quick disposal. All I did was take a swipe at the open opportunity. It’s not like you have any other option at the moment.”
Adrian stared out into space. If he must admit it, Ava is right. Sacrificing Jovy to the Mystic Shadows Alpha would mean saving the whole pack. But she was too little to be offered as a sacrificial lamb to such a vicious Alpha werewolf like Logan.
The first time Adrian had met him, despite being an independent Alpha himself, he couldn’t help the shiver that ran through his spine meeting such person. Alpha Logan Odell was a beast and had shown it to everyone far and near. All of the surrounding packs knew the story of his childhood and how blood thirsty he had become.
Rumor had it one time that he had fucked a girl to death as she couldn’t contain his beastly sexual urges. He also sends people to death sentences if he wasn’t pleased with them. All this and more has been heard about him.
Thinking of how innocent Jovy was and how much he had loved to carry her when Elena comes around his office to say hello to him when she was alive made his heart clenched at the thought of him being the very one to sell her off.
“Stop looking like you would pass out. You are scaring me.” Ava’s voice sifted through his thought.
“Where is she now?” He asked still staring into space.
“She went on a run with a boy I guess. But she should come soon, I can feel it.”
“This is crazy.” Adrian uttered as he bit hard on his index finger.
Ava watched him as he swung himself rigidly on the chair. “This is a bit hard for me.” Adrian admitted.
Ava stood up, went behind him and began to massage his stiff shoulders. “Calm your nerves baby.” She cooed, kissing his neck line. “This isn’t on you. Tommy Finlay wants to sell his wife’s daughter off. We are only helping him find a way so we have nothing to do with it.”
“But we know this girl.” He argued, leaning into her touch.
“We are not to blame for the fault in her stars. All we need to do is turn a blind eye.”
“Ava…” Adrian’s eyes watered as he looked up to her. It felt like he could see Elena staring right through him at the betrayal he was about to get involved in. Even though it would be tagged selfish, it would be foolish of him to not save his own burning ass first.
Moving from behind him, she sat on his laps and pulled him into her bosom. As much as Adrian put up the facade of being a strong chested person, he gets emotional when it concerns the people he cares about. He had been that way since she knew him and it annoyed her that he still cares so much about Elena but was glad that he could turn to only her for comfort. At least that’s enough till she craves for more.
Ava unzipped his trouser, stood up to raise her gown up and pulled her panties down. “Everything will be sorted out.” She bit on her lower lips seductively.
Adrian watched her pull out his cock. “Ava.” He moaned as she stroke his cock with both of her palms.
“Let me please you to ease your tension.” She turned her back against him, grabbed the edge of the table and slowly she settled down on his erected cock. Her pussy swallowed up his whole length and she bobbed up and down on him.
