Akira’s Point Of View
“Akira, you should rest. You’ve been here since last night.” Mother said but I wasn’t going to listen. I stopped listening to any of them since a month ago. I thought she would wake up in a week. I promised to endure even two weeks without her but it’s been two months! Two months without my love. Everyday I pray to the moon goddess to bring Alexa back to me. She is getting colder by the day and her breathing has become shallower. I don’t want to lose her like this. There are many things I want to tell her.
She still doesn’t know my true identity.
I haven’t told her I love her.
“Just leave, mother.”
“Your highness, you’ve not eaten for a whole week!” That was Raya. I turned to them. They both looked so worried. I hate that I worry them but why would I eat when my love is here, lying unconscious. She hasn’t eaten anything all month. Is she hungry?
“Alexa… please, look at me.”
I held her hand close to my heart. “Alexa…” My voice was breaking. I felt something sting my eyes and I blinked. A tear trickled down my cheek and I sniffled. Before I knew it, more tears began to fall. I bowed my head and cried silently. I hate this. I hate this stinging feeling in my heart.
“Alexa… please…”
I beg like this everyday since she went unconscious. I just want her to wake up. I can’t survive another day without her.
“We’ll be going now, alpha.” Raya said but I did not look at her. I heard their retreating footsteps after the door closed. I kept my head bowed as I tried to control my tears. I placed my head on the bed and kept her hand in mine.   My eyes felt heavy and I closed them to rest. I went to sleep before knowing it.
My sleep got interrupted when I felt a hand in my hair. The hand brushed my hair and I felt so much comfort. Just then, I heard her voice.
“Akira,”
My eyes fluttered open. Am I dreaming? I looked up and saw her smiling face.
“Am I… am seeing you in my dream again, right?”
She smiled and lifted her hand to my face. She caressed my face and I leaned in to her hand.
“Alexa…” I sniffled and she smiled.
“It must have been hard for you, right?”
I blinked in surprise. Whenever I see Alexa in my dreams, she never talks.
“Alexa?”
She scooted closer and kissed my lips. “It’s me. It’s Alexa.”
I shut my eyes and opened them back. It’s… real. It isn’t a dream. She’s back.
“Alexa!” I beamed, pulling her into a hug. My body shook as I wept against her shoulder. Finally. She is back. My love is back.
I let her go and she cupped my face. “I’m sorry for taking so long.”
I shook my head.
“I’m just glad you’re okay.”
I cleaned her tears with my palm and hugged her again. “I’ve missed you so much. I thought I wouldn’t see you again.” I said.
“Me too. Everyday I wished I would see you. I thought I wouldn’t come back.”
I smiled out tears and held her tighter.
“Your highness!” Raya squealed. She rushed to us and pulled Alexa away from me. Alexa laughed as Raya hugged her. I watched in disbelief as Raya hugged my wife. What gave her the nerve to pull her away from me?
“Your highness, I’ve really missed you.” She cried and Alexa patted her back.
“I’ve missed you too. I’m back now.”
Raya giggled as she let Alexa go. “Thank goodness you’re back. I feared alpha would kill himself before your return. He hasn’t eaten or drank anything all week.
Alexa turned to me. “really?”
I held her hand and she smiled lightly. “How long have I been out?” She asked.
“Two months.”
She gasped. “Two months? It was just four nights in there.” She said and I tilted my head sideways.
“In where?” Raya asked.
“Leave the questions for now. She needs to wash up and eat something. I’m sure you’re hungry.” I said and she nodded.
“You should also eat. Starving yourself is not hygienic for your body.” She said and I smiled.
“How could I eat when you’ve been lying in that state?” I said.
“I’m back now.”
Mother came in a few minutes later to see Alexa. I left Alexa with Raya to go clean up. I stepped into the bathroom and stepped into the tub. I felt relaxed as I immersed my body in the lukewarm water.
“This is nice.” I breathed out. I washed my body and left the tub. I tied a towel around my waist and went to my room to dress up. The maids have arranged neat clothes on the bed for me to wear. I wore them and tied my hair up after combing it.
I left my room for Alexa’s. I knocked on her door and she told me to come in. I opened the door and walked in. She was by the window, clad in a flowing lilac gown. Her curly ginger hair was brushed neatly and pinned at the back with a gold pin. I walked in and went to her. I wrapped my arm around her from behind and she chuckled.
“You’re here.”
I hummed. “What are you staring at?” I asked her.
“That tree. It’s dying.” She said and I looked at the tree she pointed to. It’s true. I guess the dry season is already here.
“Yeah.”
She raised her hand and waved it at the tree. Before my eyes, the tree flourished again. It’s flowers bloomed and the leaves became green. I batted my lashes in disbelief.
“What… did you just do?”
She turned to face me and wrapped my arms around my waist. “I just regenerated that tree.”
“I know. But how?”
“When I was unconscious, I met someone. A woman. Her name is Venusa. Turned out she has been with me since I was little. She’s the reason I have these powers.”
“What kind of powers exactly?”
“I control nature. I can heal and regenerate just like plants and… that’s all I know for now.” She said and I just stared at her in shock.
“So what’s her price?”
“Huh?”
“Nobody would give you such powers for free. What does she want in return?”
“Her son.”
I tilted my head. “Son?”
She nodded. “Riaz. Riaz is her son.”
