Alexa’s Point Of View
“Just go out and meet him on his way back from meeting the elders.”
My heart dropped. “He went to meet the elders?”
Gosh, it can only be because of one thing.
“Did… did you hear noise coming from there when you passed by?”
Raya shook her head. “It was exceptionally quiet for some reason.” I huffed and sat on the bed.
“So are you gonna keep huffing and puffing like a wolf or go out there and face him?” Xena said in frustration and I threw her a glare. She has been standing by the corner, watching me go through a mental breakdown without saying anything. Now she opens her mouth only for her to insult me.
I woke up this morning intending to go to Akira and apologize for last night but for some reason, all the courage I had to lash at him last night has melted from my body.
“What if he’s still angry?”
“Come on, he’s not,” Raya assured.
“I don’t know. Who wouldn’t be angry after going through what our poor alpha went through?” Xena said and I hissed.
“He… he made me mad too! He called me crazy. I’m still mad at him for that.”
“Well, he wouldn’t apologize for it if you don’t go to him and clear out your misunderstandings.” She said and I inhaled in determination.
“I can do this,” I told myself and Raya nodded.
“Go, your highness.”
I walked to the door and opened it. I poked my head outside but I couldn’t find Akira around. I turned back to them and they waved at me to go ahead.
I nodded and stepped out of the room. It’s fine, Alexa, just go to him, apologize and that’s it. No problem, right? Aish! But the face I saw this morning isn’t of the person that’ll just end it with an apology. He’ll probably scold me.
Ah, great heavens.
“She almost killed alpha.”
“Really?”
“Yeah!”
I stopped in my tracks and turned my head to the room where the whispers were coming from. I placed my head against the door.
“If not for Lady Alice, alpha could have died. Our so-called Luna could only sit there and watch with crocodile tears in her eyes.”
“Gosh, she’s so pathetic! I wonder what alpha saw in her. She’s nothing but a wolfless woman who can’t even lift a sword.”
“Lady Alice is much better. She’s a great fighter. Even without alpha, she can protect the pack. And…”
Just then, I felt someone’s warmth behind me. I turned and saw Akira staring down at me. His expression was that of a person ready to kill.
“A.. Akira…” I called but he walked past me and barged into the room. The two gossipers shrieked in fear and fell to their knees.
“Y.. your highness… we…”
I caught one of them by his neck before he could say anything. “F.. forgive me… Al… alpha…” He strained out as he struggled for breath. Akira tightened his grip around his neck and the other gossiper got on his knees, begging Akira for mercy.
“Al.. alpha, please forgive us! We deserve to die your highness! Please, alpha!!”
If I don’t do something, Akira might actually kill this man.
“Akira!” I called and he turned to me.
“Please, let him go.”
“Nah, I shouldn’t. He badmouthed my Luna. His Luna! And that is punishable by death.”
“I… I know but please, for my sake. Let him go, hm? At least think about his kids. Hm? Please, Akira.” I begged, desperately praying that I convinced him enough to let him go. Akira sighed tiredly and threw the man to the wall. I gasped in shock and rushed to the groaning man.
“Are you okay?” I asked him and he could only cry in pain. His friend rushed to him and I said to him, “take him to the infirmary.”
“Yes, your highness.” He quickly carried him on his back and rushed out with him. I huffed and stood up. I turned to Akira with a glare and yelled,
“You could have killed him!”
He shrugged. “Their rightful punishment is worse than death.” He said as he brushed his hair back.
I scoffed in disbelief. “Akira, you-”
He came to me and grabbed my hand. “What are you-”
He pulled me along with him and I followed without saying a word. We entered his room and he closed the door behind him.
He left my hand and sighed.
“He could have died,” I said in a low voice.
“I couldn’t bare it.” He said, breathing heavily. “I’m sick of it. You’re my mate. You’re the most wonderful woman on earth. There is no one next to you. I know this but I don’t get why they don’t understand this. It’s annoying. It infuriates me that I’m the only one seeing these things in you and-”
“Akira-”
“Wait, let me finish.” He cut me off. “I’m… I’m sorry, Alexa. For everything. I shouldn’t have kept my allergies away from you. I thought I was doing the right thing but it turned out to be the dumbest thing ever. I didn’t mean to make you look like a fool. And I’m sorry I called you crazy. You’re not crazy. I’m the crazy one for calling you that. I can take everything. Hit me. Kick me in the balls or something but please, stop avoiding me, it’s killing me slowly.”
“Akira, listen-”
“No, please. I can’t take it if you avoid me for one more second. I…”
“Akira-”
“Alexa, I…”
I pulled him closer by his collar and kissed him to shut him up. “Who do we always not let each other talk?” I said against his lips.
“We have that bad habit.” He replied and I laughed lightly.
“I’m sorry too, Akira. I should have been more considerate. I didn’t think about the fact that you didn’t tell me so my feelings wouldn’t get hurt. I’ve already blown off before thinking about it. I’m sorry. I know you have no special relationship with Alice but I still make it seem like the both of you are sneaking around behind my back.” I said and he chuckled. “I’m sorry.” I mouthed and he shook his head.
He pulled me into his embrace and sighed in relief. “Heaven knows I was losing control. I was planning on barging into your room but then I saw you by that door.”
I pulled out of the embrace. I held his face and smiled. “Look at your eyebags.”
“I couldn’t sleep all night.”
“Why?”
“What do you mean why? I was away from you. I craved to hold you in my arms all night but you weren’t there. I looked for you, you know?”
“Last night?”
He nodded. “I couldn’t find you.” He cooed, as he cupped my face with his big hands.
“I’m sorry. I hid.”
He smiled in amusement. “where?”
I giggled. “I won’t tell you.”
“Come on,”
I shrugged. “No.” I mouthed and he began to tickle me.
“Akira! St.. stop! Ha ha ha.”
We fell on the bed with him above me. He continued to tickle me while I laughed uncontrollably.
“Akira-”
“Tell me where it is and I’ll stop tickling you.”
“It’s a secret. The person that showed me the place told me not to tell anyone.” I said and he frowned.
“Is it a guy?”
I shook my head.
“A girl then?”
I shook my head.
“Which is it?” He asked laughingly.
“I don’t know but they told me not to tell anyone.”
“Am I anyone to you?” He asked poutingly and I burst into laughter. Gosh, he’s so adorable.
“Come on, tell me.”
“You play dirty. Why do you always use that tone and pleading eyes whenever you want to have your way?”
He smirked, “which tone? This?” He asked in a low sexy voice and goosebumps shot up my back.
“N… not that tone.”
“Really?” He asked in the same tone. “Will you tell me now? Hm?”
“Tell-”
“Who showed you the place?” He asked as he pulled my knee up. My breath got stuck in my throat when I felt his touch move up my thigh.
“It’s…”
“It’s…?”
“It’s Xena.” I breathed. He smiled smugly and buy my earlobe sensually. “Good girl,” he whispered and I felt my pussy kick in excitement.
“Where is the place?” He asked as he kissed my neck.
“She…” I gasped as I felt his teeth against my skin. “She told me not to tell anyone,” I said and he hummed.
“You say it’s a place where you clear your head so I won’t pressure you into telling me.” He said. “But before you go there, please tell me so I wouldn’t worry. I’d be at peace knowing you’re okay.”
I nodded and he pecked my forehead. “You’re so cute.” He said smilingly. I wrapped my arm around his neck and said, “that’s my charm.”
“You seem proud of that.”
“Of course, I am. No one can resist this cuteness.” I said smugly. “Not even you.”
“You don’t need to act cute for me to do your bidding. From the moment I set my eyes on you, I’ve become your slave. You’re my master, Alexa.”
Ah…
He’s rendered me speechless again.
His choice of words just makes all of my insides flutter.
“Alexa?”
I batted my eyelashes. “huh?”
“You looked lost.”
“Ah… you just… make me speechless with your words always.”
He smiled and came to lie beside me. He pulled me to his chest and wrapped his arm around me. “Brace yourself because I’m just getting started.”
“Do you write those lines in a book and memorize them overnight?” I teased and he chuckled.
“With you, I don’t need to memorize anything. I just look at you and I feel motivated to tell you you’re the most wonderful woman on earth.”
“What if I leave you?” His arms tightened around me. “You can’t.”
“But what if I do?”
“Then I’ll go to the ends of the earth, or even to the coven of my enemies. If I can find you there, then there I will go.”
“Why?” I asked and he looked at me.
“What do you mean why?”
“Why would you go that far for me?” I asked him. His gaze lingered on my face for a while, as if he was contemplating something.
“I just…”
“Just…”
Say it. Say that word. I want to hear it.
“Can’t do without you.”
Ah…
We’ll take that.
I smiled at him and buried my head into his chest. “I could sleep here,” I said sleepily.
“You didn’t sleep all night?”
I shook my head. “I couldn’t.”
“Why?”
“Pressure. I couldn’t sleep because of you. I kept thinking, is he mad at me? Should I go to him now? And the stuff of such.”
He chuckled and sighed. “Funny.”
“Huh?”
“I was thinking the same thing. I even came to your door. I stood there for about thirty minutes, trying to knock but I couldn’t. I thought you would lash at me again so I stood there for about an hour before going back to my room.”
I looked up at him. “You should have knocked.”
“You should have come to me.” He retorted and I hit his chest.
“Alexa?”
“Hm?”
“Do you remember last night?”
“Remember what?”
“When we were arguing. You… you did something.” He said and I raised a brow. He pulled me to sit up with him and he said, “when you yelled, you created some kind of force. The ground shook like there was an earthquake and the force threw me across the room and…” He paused when he saw I wasn’t following.
“You don’t remember?”
I shook my head. “What are you even saying? Me? Create a force that threw you across the room? Where in the world did I get such powers? I can’t even lift a rock, Akira.”
“I know… but you just did it. The wound is healed, I would have shown you. The ground really shook, Alexa.”
I remember Xena telling me about an earthquake. Could it be…
“Akira, I can’t do such,” I said and he sighed. I let go of his hand and yelled like my life depended on it.
“What are you doing?”
“Trying to see if my yell would throw you across the room but hey! You’re still on your seat.”
“That’s not the kind of yell I’m talking about.” He said and I rolled my eyes.
“I don’t have such powers, Akira. Maybe it was just your imagination.” I said and he tilted his head in confusion.
There is no way that is possible.
