Alexa’s Point Of View
“Akira,” she called again. I cursed under my breath and looked up at Akira. He smiled apologetically and I rolled my eyes.
“Alice,” he called as he withdrew from the embrace. He kept his arm around my waist as we approached her. She was on crutches and her arm and head were bandaged. Did she fight a tiger or something?
“Alice, you shouldn’t be out here,” Akira said as she came to a stop in front of us.
“I couldn’t find you anywhere so I decided to find you,” she said smilingly. Her gaze met mine and she gasped.
“You must be Alexa.”
I raised a brow. You must be Alexa? The audacity. I opened my mouth to talk but Akira beat me to it.
“She’s your highness to you, Alice.” Akira corrected as his hand left my waist to hold my hand. “She’s your Luna.” He added.
“Ah! I’m sorry, your highness,” she said, bowing apologetically. She raised her head and said, “you must have been very annoyed about last night.” She said sadly. “I didn’t mean to crash your wedding, I’m really sorry.” She sounded apologetic but it felt like she was mocking me.
“It’s fine. I’m glad you are okay.” I replied with the fakest smile.
“Yeah, all thanks to Akira.” She said as she rubbed Akira’s arm fondly. I didn’t bother to hide my displeasure. No woman touches my husband like that.
I pulled Akira to myself protectively and said, “I’m sure he’s glad to see you’re alright. Right, Akira?” I asked as I looked up at him. He grinned at me and nodded.
“Yeah.”
“Gosh, it is an honor to finally meet the new woman in Akira’s heart.”
New woman? What the hell?
“New woman?” I asked. “What is that supposed to mean?” I asked her and she faked a laugh.
“No, I just mean… you know, for most of his life, Akira only had me as the closet woman to…”
“Um..” Akira interjected. “You’ve been out for too long, Alice, you should be resting in your room,” Akira said and she nodded.
“Yeah, I know. I’ll be on my way now.”
She smiled at me and proceeded to leave. As she took a step, she tripped and Akira quickly stopped her from falling by catching her by her waist.
“Are you okay?” Akira asked and she shook her head.
“My legs are a little bit weak.”
“That was why I asked you not to leave your room.” Akira scolded. “Can you limp?” He asked and she shook her head. This woman! She better not be faking this shit.
“Hang on.”
Akira carried her in bridal style and turned to me. “I’ll be back. I need to take her back to her room.”
It was hard, but I mustered up a smile. “Yeah. Don’t be late.”
“Don’t worry, your highness, he’ll be back to you immediately.” Alice said. My gaze went to her arm and my blood boiled at the sight of her arm around his neck. Her fingers were playing with his hair. What the hell is this girl’s deal?
“I’ll be back, Alexa.” Akira said and I nodded. He turned and walked away with her. Gosh, why do I feel like this girl is here to cause havoc? I puffed out a frustrated breath and turned in the direction of the fountain.
Suddenly, I heard a voice in my head calling my name.
“Alexa!”
It sounded like the voice of a little boy. I looked around for who was calling my name.
“Alexa!” The voice called again. I turned left and saw Cyan running toward me.
“Cyan?”
He got to me and I picked him up.
“Alexa!” The voice called again.
“Who is that?” I asked and the voice replied.
“It’s me! Cyan!”
My eyes widened. “Cyan?” I exclaimed and I heard him giggle. “You can talk?” I asked him and he barked.
“Just telepathically.”
“Ah, I can’t believe this.”
“You can also talk to me telepathically.”
“Really?” I said telepathically and he nodded. Wow. I can’t believe I have a pet wolf that I can communicate with.
“You look sad.” He said. “What’s wrong with you?”
I sighed and took a seat at the fountain. “It’s that Alice girl.” I said telepathically and he laughed.
“What’s funny?”
“It’s just funny to see you jealous.”
“Jealous? I’m not jealous… I’m just…”
“You’re just…?”
“Ugh! Fine, yes, I am jealous, so what?”
“You shouldn’t be jealous. Akira really loves you. I doubt some silly woman will be able to come between you two.”
“Love, huh? He has never even told me that.”
“And have you told him?”
“Well… I don’t know if I love him yet. I just…” I sighed. “Cyan, I don’t know what I’m doing. I came to this pack with one purpose. I planned to leave and find my friend. Now, I’m only… I’m just lost.”
“But it was your choice to marry him, right? You could have said no and escaped if you wanted to a long ago.”
I chuckled. “You’re right. It feels so right with him. I just feel like tomorrow is set to be good whenever I’m with him. I can’t believe I vowed not to fall in love with him, only to fail to keep my promise.”
“Akira might allow you to go on your quest.”
I scoffed in disbelief. “Probably not.”
“Seriously. What you two lack is communication.”
“You sound like an adult but you’re just a little wolf cub. What do you know about communication?”
“I might be a little wolf cub but I’m a Mystic wolf. My intelligence is higher than most normal wolves.”
“I can tell.”
“Just go to Akira and talk. I’m sure he’ll understand.”
I sighed. What if my search is futile? I’m not even sure the person I’m going out to search for is alive or will even recognize me.
“He said he would be back soon but it’s been five minutes and he’s not even back.”
“You whine too much. Who knows if he’s busy with something? Don’t be such a whiner.”
I shook my head and tapped his head slightly. Communication, huh? Should I just tell him to send that girl out?
Nah, that’s probably not good. Ugh! I’m going crazy.
