Alexa’s Point Of View
“Are we there yet?” I asked for the umpteenth time.
“Calm down, Alexa, we are almost there.”
I rolled my eyes. “You’ve said that five times now.”
“Are you tired?” He asked and I nodded poutingly. He bent before me and tapped his shoulder.
“Get on my back.”
“Really?” I asked and he nodded.
I got on his back and he rose to his feet and resumed walking. I wrapped my arms around his neck and rested my head on his shoulder.
“Alexa…” He called and I hummed.
“What was your first thought when you saw me?” He asked.
“Why the sudden question?”
“I just wanna know.”
“Wasn’t it obvious?”
He shook his head.
“My first thought, huh..?”
I thought deeply about that night. Our first meeting. The night the world stopped the moment he pulled me into that corner and I stared into his eyes.
“He’s got beautiful eyes,” I said and he chuckled.
“What? That was what I first noticed about you so I thought you had beautiful eyes. Well, until I found out about what you really were.”
“So they became ugly?”
I nodded and he chuckled. “What about now?”
“Now?”
“Yeah. Are they still ugly?”
“Well…”
No.
They are still the most beautiful eyes I’ve ever seen.
“I don’t know.” I said and he grinned.
“You truly fascinate me.” He said and I raised a brow.
“Huh?”
“You always say the opposite of what you think.”
“What do you mean?” I asked and he shook his head. “Nevermind.”
“Tch!”
“Should I tell you what I thought when I first saw you?” He asked.
“Not that I’m curious but okay.”
Actually, I’m very curious.
“Ah, I’ve finally found you.”
“Were you searched for me before?” I asked and he nodded.
“But we’ve never met before then, have we?”
He smiled. “True. But I’ve always wanted to meet my mate one day. I thought I would never have one since my eighteen birthday passed without me finding her.”
“Ah… right.”
Just then, a thought crept into my head.
“So you’ve been waiting for your mate all your life? You’ve never been with a woman before me?”
He cleared his throat uneasily and adjusted me on his back. “Well… I.. uh, I wouldn’t say that.”
I gasped dramatically. “So you’ve had several relationships.”
“No. Not several. I’ve only had one serious relationship. It wasn’t even serious. It was like a passing wind. I don’t even know where the girl is right now.”
“Uh uh, I see. What’s the name of this girl?”
“She’s unimportant so her name would not be mention.”
“Is it Xena?”
He stopped in his tracks and faced me. “why would you even think it’s Xena?”
“Well, since I got here, she’s the only woman I’ve seen to be close to you.”
He shook his head. “It’s not Xena.”
“Then who?”
“You’re being so inquisitive today.”
I shrugged. “Well, we’ve been walking for hours and I was getting bored so…”
“We’re here already.” He said and I looked forward. My jaw fell and no words could be formed in my mouth. We were at a beautiful waterfall surrounded by magnificent flowers.
“Akira…” I cooed as he brought me down. Hummingbirds sat on the trees and sang melodiously. A set of tables and chairs was arranged in the middle with a variety of foods on the table.
“When did you prepare this?” I asked smilingly.
“It took three days? I had to wait for the day the sun would rise over this place. It’s quite cold on the grounds so a swim in a warm place should warm us up.”
“Is the weather of this place different?”
I nodded. “That’s why it’s called mystic falls. So what should we do first? Eat or swim?”
“What do you think? Swim of course!” I squealed and he laughed.
“I thought at much.”
Akira’s Point Of View
I’ve always wanted to have this opportunity. Opportunity to be with Alexa alone. Without pressure from pack duties or thoughts. I didn’t know how to create that moment so I left home last week to enquire. Finding a spot wasn’t easy.
I first set of places I visited didn’t fit the vibe I was looking for. Just three days ago, I found mystic falls but I had to wait till today to set everything up because of the weather.
“There are no sharks in there, right?”
“Alexa, it’s a waterfall. Not a river.”
She shrugged. “Just taking precautions. Who knows what we might encounter in there.” She said and I chuckled.
“Fine.”
I took off my coat, then I started to unbutton my shirt slowly. I smirked smugly as her eyes followed every movement of my finger. I pulled off my shirt and her eyes bulged in excitement.  I took off my boots and socks afterward.
I jumped into the water and immersed myself in it. I brought my head out and swept my already wet hair back.
“So are you convinced there are no sharks or killer whales here now?” I teased and she cleared her throat.
She raised her hand to her coat and pulled it down. She unfastened her zip and pulled down the sleeves of her gown. She let her gown fall at her feet and she stepped out of it. She was only clad in an undergown that stopped just below her butt. I knew she was curvy but I never knew she was THIS curvy. Her nipples poked out of the thin material and my teeth craved to bite them. Her thighs were smooth as silk and thick.
“Who is eye raping who now?” Her voice snapped me out of my thoughts and I brought my gaze up to her face. She shinned beautifully under the sun. She’s a goddess. My Goddess. She stepped into the water gently and I supported her by her waist.
“Comfortable?” I asked as I pulled her closer and she nodded.
“It’s so warm.” She cooed. She dipped herself into the water and swam to and fro. She was quite fast. I never knew she could swim. I never saw her swim when we were young.
“Where did you learn how to swim?” I asked.
“My dad was a fisherman so it is only natural for me to know how to swim.” She said smugly. “I bet you can’t beat me in a race.” She challenged and I raised a brow.
“You sure?”
“I’m confident.”
“Let’s test that theory then. The loser gets to do whatever the winner wants and he must not back down.”
We both went to the edge of the water and took our marks.
“At the count of three,” I said.
“One.”
“Two.”
“Three!”
We both dived into the water and swam as fast as we could to the other end. It was a given I would win if I used all my strength so I slowed down for her and let her win.
“See? I told you!” She yelled victoriously. “I won! In your face! Ha!”
“I won, you’re the loser. I won, you’re the loser.” She kept singing and doing a very funny victory dance. I could not keep a smile out of my face. She was just so cute.
“So you won. What do you want, Miss winner?” I asked.
“Umm, I keep that for later. I think I’m gonna need it in the future.” She said and I nodded.
“As you wish.”
Just then, Alexa splashed water on my face.
“What the..”
She splashed another and I smiled mischievously.
“You started this,” I said and began to splash water on her. She laughed delightfully as I continued to splash water on her. She tried to splash back but I was just so fast for her.
“Fine fine. Sorry sorry.” She said in-between laughter and I carried her up by her waist. She wrapped her legs around my torso and her arms around my neck. I kept my arms encircling her waist.
Her beautiful hair stuck to her wet face and formed waves as they stuck to her neck and collarbone.
She brushed some strands of my hair off my face and said. “Thank you.”
“For what?”
“For all these. I just…” She sighed. “Several months back, I had nothing but coldness in my heart. I forgot that the world wasn’t such a dark lonely place. You made me remember the feeling of warmth and I can’t thank you enough.” She said. “If someone told me three years ago that I would learn how to laugh again, I’d call the person crazy.”
“And now?”
“Now, I’m Alexa again. The Alexa who likes to smile and goof around.”
“I’m glad I’m able to make you rediscover yourself. I’m proud of you, Alexa.” I said and she grinned.
“I’m proud of myself too.” She said and I pecked her lips.
“Sorry. They were too tempting.” I said and she giggled. She pushed her fingers into my hair and claimed my lips gently. I reciprocated and she pressed her body again mine. I could feel her hard nipples on my chest. Without breaking the kiss, I swam toward a rock and rested her back on it so she would be comfortable.
I broke the kiss and she whimpered softly.
“Alexa,” I called softly.
“Hm?” She asked, breathing heavily.
I’m ready to tell her. I’m ready to tell her who I really am. But not here. But on the night of our mating ceremony. I’m ready to tell her the truth.
“Please let’s get married,” I said. Her heart hammered against my chest as I waited for her reply.
“Let’s have a mating ceremony, Alexa,” I said again, looking into her eyes pleadingly. She grinned and pecked my forehead.
“I thought you wouldn’t ask.”
My eyes lit up in happiness. “Really?” I gasped and she nodded.
“Yeah, really. I’m ready to get mated to you, Akira. Officially.”
“Thank you. Thank you for choosing to stay.” I said and she kissed my lips.
“You’re welcome.”
***
After swimming for another thirty minutes. We left the water and settled to eat. After eating, we lay on the grass to rest for ten minutes and we set home. It was beginning to get dark.
When we got to the palace, we saw Raya having a conversation with Ace in the hallway. They were so immersed in their conversation that they didn’t notice Alexa and me.
Alexa cleared her throat loudly and gained their attention.
“Gosh, was your conversation that important?” Alexa asked and Raya bowed.
“What is going on?” I asked both of them. Raya looked troubled and sad. Ace didn’t reply so I faced Raya.
“What’s going on, Raya?”
“Um… alpha…”
“Fidget not. I just want to know why you seem disturbed.”
“Thank you, Alpha. It’s Master Ace.” She said and I turned to Ace.
“What happened to him?”
“I’m leaving,” Ace replied and I frowned in confusion.
“You’re what?”
“Leaving.”
“Huh? Ace, this is not the time to leave! You are safe here. Vampires are rampant out there. Who in the world knows where they are hiding.”
“That was what I was telling him before you arrived,” Raya said. “It’s very dangerous out there and-”
“Exactly.” Ace cut in. “Riaz is out there in the middle of danger. Do you expect me to stay in here and hope he’s safe or hope he comes back? I can’t do that. I have to go out to find him. No matter what. I don’t know what I’ll do if something bad happens to him.”
Alexa sighed in frustration and I squeezed her shoulder. “You want to leave,” I said and he nodded.
I let Alexa go and went to hug him. “Riaz left and now, you’re leaving too. I can’t believe my family is leaving me one by one.” I said and he chuckled.
“You have Alexa. I’m sure she’s more than family to you.”
I smiled and nodded. I let him go and held his shoulders. “You better find Riaz and you both better be safe,” I said and he nodded.
“Trust me.”
“In that case, Ace Whitewood, I, Akira, alpha of Whitepeak Pack, let you go on this quest.”
“Thank you, alpha.” He bowed respectfully and I patted his shoulder. He raised his head and faced Alexa whose eyes were swollen with tears.
“You better be alright.” She said with a breaking voice and Ace nodded. He faced me and smiled.
“I’ll be back.” He assured and I nodded. After one last bow, he turned in the opposite direction and began walking toward the door. Ace, my best friend. My first family the moment I stepped into this island. He is leaving to search for his love.
I hate to admit it but I feel a tiny bit sad.
