Alexa’s Point Of View
“I could eat more of this,”
I watched as he shoved more bread into his mouth. His stuffed cheeks made him look like a chipmunk. Cute. He gulped down his cup of tea and let out a satisfactory sigh.
“That was so good,” he said and I grinned proudly. I should make him dinner more often. He seems to like eating.
“Of course, I made it.” He smiled and kissed my forehead. “Thanks,”
“You’re welcome,” I said bashfully. He packed the used plates to the sink and began to wash them.
“You should have let me wash them,” I said and he shook his head.
“You prepared the food. It’s only right that I wash the dishes.” He said and I smiled. He’s such a husband material. Wait up, what am I saying?
I looked at him and found him smiling sheepishly to himself. What could be so funny?
“What’s funny?” I asked and he turned to me. He shrugged. “I’m just happy,”
“Why so happy?”
“Because I have you? Are you not enough reason to be happy?” He asked and I pursed my lips.
“Well…” I drawled, not knowing what to say. He just knows how to keep me speechless. Every single time.
I yawned loudly and stretched sleepily. “I’m quite tired. I wanna sleep,”
“Wait, let me finish this first,” he said as he quickly rinsed the plates. He arranged them neatly in the cabinet.
“Let’s go,” He said and I raised my brow.
I mumble, “Let’s? It’s not as if we’re going to sleep in the same room.”
“That’s exactly what we’re doing,” He said and picked me up swiftly. I let out a yelp as he balanced me well in his arms.
“Let me down!” I yelled as I laughed but he didn’t yield. “Stop wiggling or you’ll fall,”
I smirked mischievously and began to wiggle about. I screamed in fear and held him like my life depended on it when he swung me like he was about to throw me off his arms.
“Are you crazy!”
“I told you not to wiggle.” I slapped his chest and he laughed.
“Hold tight,” he said as he descended the stairs.  He opened the door to his room with his feet and walked in fully. He placed me gently on the bed and hovered above me.
“Wanna take a bath?”
I nodded.
“Together?” He asked and I frowned.
“Get off me. You’re so dirty-minded,” I said as I pushed him off me.
“What? I only said we should bath together,” he said innocently. “you’re the one thinking about another thing so who is the dirty-minded one here?”
I rolled my eyes and got off the bed. “You should leave the room.”
He leaned against the headrest and crossed his arms. “Why?”
“What do you mean why? I wanna bathe.” I said and he cocked his brow.
“And?”
I frowned. “You know what I mean!” I yelled and he laughed.
“Fine fine. I’ll leave. Go inside the bathroom first. There’s a towel for you to use in there,” he said and I pointed at him threateningly.
“When I come back, I mustn’t see you here,”
“Yes ma’am,”
I eyed him one last time before going into the bathroom. The bathroom was so clean. One would think he doesn’t use it. I stepped under the shower and had a nice warm bath.
If only I could stay here forever. The water is so pleasing against the skin that you might fall asleep if you’re not careful.
When I was done, I wrapped the towel around my chest and wrapped my hair with the other. I exited the bathroom and closed the door behind me.
I gasped in fear when I saw Akira standing by the closet. He had some clothes in his hand. “I thought I told you to go out!”
“I did. But then I remembered you had nothing to change into so I came back to get you something to wear from my closet.” He said, motioning to the clothes he was holding.
“You… I could have found my way!”
He smirked. “Yeah, right ” He taunted. “But seriously though…” He trailed off as his gaze lowered. I felt hot as his eyes trailed down my body to my legs.
“Are you… are you gonna keep eye-raping me?”
His gaze snapped to my face and he smiled. “You don’t seem to hate it.”
He placed the clothes in his hand on the bed. “Change into this,”
I gripped onto my towel and scurried to the bed. “Face the wall. Right now.” I said and he scoffed out a laugh.
“What?”
I held his arms and turned him to face the wall. “I wanna dress up!”
“It’s not as if I’ve not seen it all,” he taunted.
“Whatever! Just don’t face back. If you do, I’ll gauge your eyes out!” I warned him as I let him go. I kept my eyes on him as I let my towel fall to my feet.
“Stay still, I’m warning you,” I said.
“I am staying still,”
I wore my underwear and I picked up the hoodie sweater and wore it. Honestly, it was oversized but comfy. I liked that I smelled like him.
“You can face me now,” I said and he turned.
“Suits you as I expected,” he said and I folded my arms.
“Does it look big on me as you expected?”
He nodded. “You don’t expect my clothes to size you, do you?”
One minute he’s making me feel flustered, the next minute he’s making me feel stupid. I ignored him and climbed onto the bed.
“I’m really sleepy.” I yawned.
He lay beside me and tried to wrap his hand around me but I slapped his hand away.
“What was that for?”
“Don’t touch me,” I warned as I sat up. I took two pillows and placed them between us. “Don’t pass this line,”
He smiled in amusement. “You’re joking,” he said and I shook my head firmly.
“I’m nowhere close to joking. Pass this line and I break your hands.” I warned and laid back to sleep.
“Goodnight.” I said and he hummed.
“Goodnight.”
I felt him lie down and I closed my eyes to sleep. No matter how much I tried, I couldn’t sleep. I could hear his low snores. There is no way he’s sleeping.
“Akira?” I called but I got no reply. Is he sleeping already? He’s sleeping in this situation?
I turned to face him and pulled one of the pillows away. I scooted closer as quietly as possible. I raised my finger to his face and trailed it down his nose bridge and stopped at his lips. They were inviting. So inviting that I began to move my head closer. Our lips were almost touching when I got hold of myself.
“What am I doing?” I whispered to myself. I was withdrawing when his eyes suddenly opened. I gasped quietly in surprise.
“You placed the pillow between us but you crossed the line yourself,” he said and I gulped.
“I was just…” I tried saying and he raised his brow teasingly. “I’m going to sleep now,” I said as I made to turn away but he pulled me to his chest by my waist.
“Do you know how hard it is trying to sleep without you in my arms?” He said in a sleepy voice. I placed my head on his chest and he cuddled me tighter.
“I’m not going to do anything more than this. There’s a lot of time in the future for other things.” He said and I blushed.
“Goodnight,” I said in a low voice and he hummed. I buried my head in the crook of his neck and he caressed my hair.
This is so comfortable. I snuggled against him and closed my eyes. It wasn’t long before I drifted into sleep.
THE NEXT DAY
Akira’s Point Of View
I woke up to see the face of the most beautiful woman in the world. If she were a picture, I’d spend all day and night staring at her. She’s just so perfectly and beautifully made.
I thank the moon goddess every day for gifting me such a rare gem as my mate. She has always been a fascination of mine since I was young. She was a girl but rougher than a boy.
Her beautiful eyes always bulged in excitement whenever she ran into trouble. She was one odd ball. My odd ball. My whole world crumbled when I thought I had lost her in the bloody war. I thought I wouldn’t see her again. I thought she was gone. But then, I found her again.
Alexa.
She was a woman now.
Fierce, strong, and beautiful.
Still stubborn as ever but her soft heart never changed. Her smile was still as beautiful as the morning sun and her laughter still soothed my heart.
I thought I wouldn’t get to hear her laugh anymore when we first met. She hated what I was. She was warm to others but not toward me so I tried my possible best to make her see all of me. To make her see me for who I really was.
And it worked. She softened toward me. She’s letting down her wall little by little and I’ll help her bring her wall down completely. I’ll make her see that I’m ready to lay down my life for her. Wherever and whenever.
Just a little more time.
Just a little more and I’ll tell her who I truly am. I’ll tell her I’m the childhood friend she’s trying so hard to look for. I can’t tell her now.
She still hasn’t accepted what I am. I want her to accept it genuinely and not because I am Lyell.
She swerved lightly in my arms and I smiled. She’s still pretty while asleep. I brushed the loose strands of her hair away from her face and pecked her forehead.
She squeezed her eyes like a baby and yawned. She opened one of her eyes and smiled when she saw me.
“Do you know it’s creepy looking at a sleeping person?”
“I don’t know who’s looking more creepy. Me? Or the woman sleeping with her mouth open.”
Her eyes widened in shock and her face flushed in embarrassment. “I… I don’t open my mouth while sleeping.”
“Oh, you do. And you snore too. One would think you were shifting in your sleep,”
“You’re out of your mind.”
I laughed jestingly and he hit my chest. “You’re crazy.”
“Crazy over you.” I said and she smiled. She place her hand against my cheek and said, “you have bags under your eyes. Didn’t you sleep?”
“I couldn’t.”
She frowned. “Why?”
“You.”
“Me?”
“Yes. You kept tossing and turning. You hurt my head countless times and don’t get me started on the number of times you kicked my balls.”
“I told you to stop teasing me!”
“I’m not! Seriously! Are my eye bags not enough evidence?”
She batted her eyelashes in disbelief and buried her face in my chest in embarrassment.
“You.. you should have woken me up then.”
“I didn’t want to disturb your sleep,” I said and she groaned.
“How… how are they?”She asked as she took her head off my chest.
“Who?”
She glanced down and I chuckled. “They are fine. Sure, they suffered some injuries but they’ll survive it.” I said and her ears went red.
“You say the most absurd things.”
“You asked me how they were and I told you,” I said in my defense and she scoffed.
“Okay okay. Not another word about my sleeping habits or anything of such.” She pouted.
“Yes, ma’am. So what should we do today?”
“What do you mean?”
“I feel so good today so how about we go out and have fun or something?”
“Go out?” She mumbled. “Like a date?”
“Do you want it to be a date?” I asked.
‘Yes’, I heard her say in her mind.
“Anything you want it to be.” She said and I chuckled. She says the opposite of what she thinks.
“A date it is.”
