Elena Dorwith sat down with a chair in front of the mirror, smoothing her face with a makeup sponge. She was wearing a black thin gown that held onto her hips, exposing her fair thighs. She didn’t bother to paint her lips because it was already red. Her artificial eye lashes stood out from her eyes and she was in the process of neatly powdering her face.
Elena counted herself fortunate to have free time with her long time friend. Philip wasn’t the type of person to go out with girls of her nature and personality. To the best of her knowledge, she knew that he didn’t trust her and would never trust her because that was what he was taught by his father. Humans were not to be trusted, especially if they were females. She tried several times to ask Philip about his mother but he ended up evading the questions and the topic entirely until she had no interest in asking him about it.
After finishing up with her beauty make-up, she stood up from the seat and looked at herself in the mirror. Everything about her was attractive and seductive and she wanted it to be that way especially for Philip. Before she could pick up her shoes, there was a knock at the door. Knowing that it was Philip, she left what she wanted to do and walked over to open the door.
The look on Philip’s face when he took a glance at her, excited her insides but she contained those feelings and opened the door wide for him to enter the house.
“You should have told me to bring flowers,” he said while staring at her as she picked up her shoes.
“Flowers for what?” she asked, giggling.
“You don’t look like someone who is going for dinner.”
Elena sat down and glanced at Philip, “What?”
“Don’t take offence, Elena. You look extraordinarily beautiful this evening,” he said, approaching her. “That’s what I meant.”
“Oh. I thought you didn’t mean what you meant,” she said, trying to wear her shoes. To her surprise, Philip drew a chair in front of hers and sat down on it. Then he used a hand to pick her left feet and the other hand to pick the left shoe. Gently, he plugged her leg into the shoe and bucked it.
“You’ve grown so much, Elena,” he said while picking up her shoe, “But you still have small feet.”
Elena smiled as she felt his hand grip her feet, “I am a lady, Philip. Plus, you are taller than me.”
“I am?” he laughed and fixed her leg in the shoe, then he bucked it.
“Thank you,” she said, “Now let’s go eat!”
“You first, my lady,” he said jokingly. She took her bag and walked out of the house with a smile. Within her, she felt Philip’s stare as she took careful steps toward his car. Both of them entered his car and without wasting much time, the car zoomed off to the chosen venue.
*********
Elena smiled at Philip as they walked side-by-side. They didn’t talk much during their dinner and she didn’t want them to separate just like that.
“Thanks for the dinner, P,” she said.
“Mmh. You must be tired,” he said and turned to look at her, “Do you want to go home yet?”
“Yes, but not to mine,” she said, “But yours.”
“Mine. You really want to come to my house.”
“I haven’t visited you for months, so this is a good time for me to do it.”
She thought he would disagree but surprisingly, he nodded and allowed her to get into his car. She felt her body burn with passion as Philip drove the car to his house and as soon as he arrived there, a hammer began to knock repeatedly at the door of her heart. He opened the car for her to climb out and closed the door after her.
“You seem fatter after today’s dinner,” he smiled as he walked toward the door of his house.
“What? I am fat?” she asked in a terrified voice. Her internal excitement died off after she heard Philip’s comment on her.
“Yes. I did spend money on food this night and most of it was on yours,” he opened the door and held it till she entered, then he closed the door.
As soon as Elena got in, she folded her hands with a frown on her face.
“What do you mean by that?” she asked.
“You are gaining weight, that’s what I mean,” he said while tucking his hand into his pocket, “Maybe because you work at a restaurant and your boss feeds you quite well.”
“What are you driving at, Philip?” she didn’t try to hide her irritation with Philip’s words. It was obvious that he was driving at something and she wanted to know it.
“I am not driving at anything, Elena,” he said as he came closer to her. So close that she could look into his gray eyes clearly. So close that the beautiful scent of his body spray filled her nose. So close that all the courage in her died so quickly and the only thing she could do was to unfold her hands and listen to the love of her life. “You simply look more attractive when you get upset.”
She hardly looked Philip in the eye. Most times, it seemed like she was but deep within her, she wasn’t. There was no way she could have a conversation with him if there was no eye contact. So, physically she would pull up her head and seemingly look into his eyes but somewhere in her mind, she was only concentrating on his words. As soon as Philip made that comment, she quickly pulled down her head and tried to concentrate on his clothes or shoes or something that could take her mind away from the timidness she was feeling.
Elena felt Philip’s hand under her chin as he pulled it up. Her cat eyes met with his gray eyes and she could see so clearly why Philip didn’t trust her. He was a Mutant and she was a Human but she didn’t know why Philip was so interested in her such that their friendship lasted longer than she expected.
She felt his hands circling round her hips and then she suddenly felt the warm impact of his lips on her neck. “What do you want, Elena?” he whispered into her ears.
“You,” she said, while trying to find her breath. She put her hands around his neck and kissed his lips with every passion in her. It was obvious that he wanted to feel her body after many years of observing her and she also had desires in her heart to know what it was like to look into his eyes and get closer to him. Both of them got their desires fulfilled that night and surely, Elena knew that it was going to be an unforgettable night for the both of them.
