David Hayes sighed as he sat down in his seat. The workload wasn’t very much that afternoon but he felt a heavy load inside of him. One that seemed too heavy to be lifted. He stood up from his seat and walked to the window, where he looked out and absorbed the beauty of the sight he beheld. He couldn’t help but think that something was going to go wrong with the world, starting with his own family first.
“Mr. David,” Mina, his personal assistant, called.
“Yes, Mina.” he turned towards her, after closing the window.
“Your daughter…”
“Don’t mince words, Mina. What is it?
“I got a call from someone in her college, saying that she fainted in class during her lessons.”
David held his shaky breath and tried to hold his stance. “Prepare the car.”
“Yes sir.” Mina wasted no time in leaving immediately. As soon as she walked out, David took out his phone and dialled a number.

As soon as he reached the hospital, he was directed into the room where his daughter was kept and he rushed to touch her.
“Her body’s temperature was higher than anything we’d seen. She was breathing abnormally but we have stabilized that. When she was brought in here, her condition was worse.” The doctor said,
“What do you think is wrong with her?”
“We’ve tested, and there was nothing that we could find. It’s as if the symptoms are visible and the cause of it is nowhere to be found.”
David looked at his daughter and nodded, “I understand, thank you, doctor.”
“My pleasure, Mr. David.” The doctor walked out of the room and closed the door behind him.
David took his daughter’s hand and kissed it softly before keeping it by her side. All he wanted was peace for his daughter but unfortunately for him, the mishap also affected her. Her mother had died prior to the day of her birth. The doctors found out that his daughter was alive and they tore up the belly of her mother to get to her. When she was handed over to David, the doctors called it a miracle that she was still alive and breathing inside her dead mother’s stomach. Since then, David had always treated her with such speciality and love. He always feared for her life and because of that, did everything to keep her safe. Everyone around him knew that his daughter was the only person he lived for apart from his company.
“You will be alright,” he said as he kissed her forehead and sighed.
When David arrived home, he sat down in the large sitting room and exhaled deeply. His life had been filled with the pursuit of either money or women. When he finally found his wife, his aim was to please her and make her happy with everything that money could buy. After she died while giving birth to their daughter, his focus shifted to the baby. He over-showered her with love and made sure that anyone who laid a finger on her was dealt with immediately. For the first time in his life, he didn’t know how to solve this present problem of his daughter’s condition, where the symptoms were clear but the cause was nowhere to be found.
He looked around his house and stood up, tucking his hands into his pocket. The sitting room was as large, heavily furnished with pictures, flowers and the scent of the lovely scent of those flowers filled the room. He wasn’t planning to build a duplex, but he had to do it because of his daughter. His original plan was to build a stable mansion for his family. Unfortunately for him, his journey didn’t turn out as expected. Even with all the cars and houses and a widely renowned company, he wasn’t able to find real peace or protect his daughter from an unknown sickness. “Prepare my bath,” he said to one of the servants and she bowed her head, then rushed to do as David commanded her.
For some time, David had been sceptical about searching for a cure for his daughter but now he knew that he had to do it. If not, his daughter could die anytime without him knowing the cause or the cure. He realized that it would be so much better for him if he tried getting a solution instead of keeping quiet.
David woke up with a deep gasp, his eyes wide open and his hand on his chest. His dreams were getting clearer, bolder and more specific. The same dream disturbed him for two weeks, every night as if it was going to happen the next day. Ignoring dreams was not part of his training as a child who had the seer’s gift. Therefore, he resolved to find help and seek for solutions, wherever he could find them.

“Where can I get his number?” David asked as he held his phone near his ear, listening attentively and hoping for reasonable answers.
“Why do you want him? The guy is not a human,” said a male voice over the phone.
“Well, at least he can give me the answers that I need. I can’t continue like this, Tyler.”
“Fine, I will connect you to him but don’t blame me when you get the answer you are looking for.”
“Yeah, I won’t. Just do me a favour and send the information quickly.” David said and hung up immediately. All he wanted were answers and he didn’t care about the face or shape of the person giving him the answers.
