She returned to the same place.
The public’s voice was like an unforgiving scourge; they did not let her off even for a moment.
Although Hunter and Joseph worked together to suppress all heats, the rumors persisted. It was exactly what she had expected, but she was fearless.
Now she possessed a loving family and a husband pampering her. Just as grandfather said, as long as the family was together, all difficulties are nothing.
Emily stood in front of the French window and looked at the bright sunshine outside. Her family was in the courtyard.
Her grandfather was in a good condition, and his health improved daily since her return. He had been so ill to count on a wheelchair, and now he could run after his great-grandchildren in the yard.
“The lanterns were awful. They do not look good. Milo, what happened to you? Hurry up and fix it. It’s not symmetrical at all!”
“Asymmetry is the trend right now. You know nothing. You’re old and don’t udnerstand the latest trends.” Milo was not that nice to follow the instruction.
“As if you are very young?”
“I’m ten years younger than you. So yes, I am young.”
“Bah!”
“Father, it’s auspicious today, please don’t curse.” Lottie stopped him before he continued.
Old Master Gale stopped immediately and patted his mouth, “Sure it is! That is all my fault. I am old and being ignorant. I will shut up now. Ah… Milo, hurry up and fix the lanterns.”
“Will do. Stop being so verbose.”
“Mind your words!”
“Eldest Madam reminded you to mind your words.”
“You—”
“Father, it’s an auspicious day. You mustn’t get angry.” Lottie’s voice echoed again.
Old Master Gale was at his wit’s end and swiftly forced a good-natured smile on his face. “Yes, yes, yes. That’s my bad again. I’m not angry. How could I be angry? Look, I’m smiling!”
“Grandpa, monster.”
Sweety squirmed out of Joseph’s arms and quick walked toward the old man on her stubby legs.
Chester followed her in case she would fall.
The old man immediately felt face. “Your great-grandfather is such a nice person. How can I be a monster?”
“Monster, monster.” Sweety changed direction midway and ran to Milo.
“He’s the bad guy, Sweety. Don’t let him deceive you. Your great-grandfather is a good person.” Old Master Gale ran after her.
Two old men and two children ran and chased each other around the yard.
Under the beautiful sunlight, her grandfather’s face was rosy and radiant. It looked as if he was a dozen years younger.
Joseph came in from the yard and looked at Emily, who had put on her makeup and wedding gown.
She was a bride that day!
She had only been home for a few days, but Hunter would take her away again as he could not wait to marry her. What a short family reunion!
“Grandfather decided to set up a large company in Bentson and manage it by himself.” Joseph walked and stood beside her as they watched over everyone in the yard together.
“Manage by himself? He just wants an excuse to stay in Bentson.” How could Emily not know her own grandfather’s thought?
Joseph smiled. “Whether it is for work or for living, he just wants to stay with his family as often as possible.”
Emily remained silent, but her smile grew wider.
Yes. As long as the family was together, days past happily.
Suddenly, Joseph spotted something in the distant sky. “He’s here.”
They had cleared the front yard and turned it into a temporary landing pad for the festivities.
Now, the helicopter was approaching. In Emily’s eyes, there was helicopter’s reflection, and in her mind, there was a man with a hefty body and a charming face.
He was arrived and her new life began.
From that moment onward, they would grow old together and never be apart.
