As soon as Joseph walked into his room and closed the door behind him, his assistant called him on his phone.
“Eldest Young Master, those photos were taken clandestinely, and the camera was in your room.”
Joseph walked to the side of his bed. He could not find any trace of the camera even if he looked around it closely.
“Eldest Young Master, I am afraid that the evidence has been destroyed. Besides our own people, I doubt any outsiders could do something like this.”
The assistant sounded helpless. “It’s probably meaningless to find out why those photos were taken and leaked. What’s critical right now is that the photos are exposed.”
“I know.” Joseph turned on his laptop.
There were plenty of photos and even videos of him and Emily on the bed on the Internet.
Fortunately, they were interrupted before things could turn worse when his family members abruptly burst into the room. Emily’s future would be doomed had things gone too far! How malicious was the person who uploaded those photos? Who else could have done it besides Wendy? Even he was not spared from her evil plots!
“Eldest Young Master, now that those photos are everywhere, the public has made assumptions about your relationship with Miss Emily.” The assistant seemed a little hesitant to continue, but he had to say it. “Eldest Young Master, now that those photos are circulating online, it is definitely not the time to announce Miss Emily’s identity.”
“I know!”
That was one of Wendy’s intentions. Even though Emily was the Gale family’s real granddaughter, they had to keep it under wraps for a while longer. They did not want the fake scandal between the cousins to become a joke as it would leave permanent scars on their lives.
Wendy knew that would happen, and she did that so the Gale family would not deny her identity as their granddaughter. She wanted to threaten them. If they expose her fraud, then she would announce that Emily was their real granddaughter. She wanted to shame Emily. As a man, Joseph would probably not suffer as much, but Emily would never live a peaceful life again.
“Cover it up with some celebrities’ news.”
“Yes, I will work on it.”
The other party had sensationalized his scandal. As Joseph was Eldest Young Master Gale and the former CEO of Gale Corporation, no celebrity stories would be able to cover his news. They could only try their very best!
Joseph did not commend any further. After he hung up the phone, he read the articles and photos on the Internet again. Who was the person behind Wendy? Was it really Hunter? Emily was his woman. Did he not care for her? Emily’s life would be entirely crushed if the truth was exposed. Would Hunter regret it if it was him who planned for the event?

Emily got up early in the morning and made herself ready. She powdered her face to cover up her paleness. She was afraid that her grandfather would be worried about her should he gain consciousness that day and saw her pitiful look.
“Milo, let’s go.” She went downstairs with her bag in her arm. Butler Milo saw her, and his mood became complicated at once.
After a moment of hesitation, he said. “Miss Emily, there’s no news from the hospital. Maybe, it’s better to stay at home today and not go out.”
“Why? I’m going to visit my grandfather.” Emily blinked and walked to him, a little puzzled. “Didn’t we agree about it already?”
“That’s right, we talked about it, but the old master is still unconscious. In case he doesn’t wake up today, you would have been there in vain.”
“How is that the same? I have to go to the hospital to take care of my grandfather. How can I just leave him in the hands of the medical team?”
Emily tilted her head and stared at his face. “Milo, you seem to be hiding something from me. What’s it?”
“Of course not!”
Butler Milo’s reaction was a bit too fast, so he was guilty. Emily frowned as she doubted his words even more.
“Milo, so you… are really hiding something from me?”
“I’m just an old man. Why would I hide anything from you?”
“Then, let’s go.” Emily was worried when he tried to deflect her questions. However, Butler Milo’s task that day was to try to keep her at home. They did not want her to bump into those news reporters… Butler Milo was worried if he could handle it if Young Master Joseph were not there.
“I… that, Emily, I… since the hospital said that the old master is okay, why not… why don’t we see him tomorrow…”
“Milo, tell me the truth. Is there something wrong with Grandfather?”

That morning, Eldest Young Master Joseph had gone out early. He looked swamped and had to deal with many things. Both madams had also gone to the office. Butler Milo was the only person who could accompany Emily. Eldest Young Master Gale told him that Emily was not in good health, so he could not let her run around on her own.

“Milo, how are you? Are you okay?”

Butler Milo was so out of breath that his face flushed.
“Miss Emily, if I walk too fast, my stomach will hurt. Please don’t let me chase after you.”
Emily felt guilty when she saw his red face.
“Sorry Milo, I was just…”
“It’s okay. I know that you are just worried about the old master.”
Butler Milo had no choice. He could only take her to the hospital.
“Don’t panic, the old man is well. I will take you to the hospital now.”
