Chapter 327 Where Is The Child

Book:My Most Precious Wife Published:2024-5-1

Emily had just reached the hotel’s entrance, and Henry’s phone call came within five minutes. Then, two minutes later, she got into Henry’s car. She felt gloomy that night, but her mood lifted after she saved that old man.
“Where did you go?” Henry frowned when he noticed that her clothes were a little messy, and even her hair was a bit messy. However, apart from that, she did not seem different than usual. He thought that he must have been too worried about her. He was scared that she was not home because she had bumped into Hunter.
“I saw an old man choking and almost fainted, so I went to lend a hand to save him.”
Emily’s voice was a little hoarse, but she looked lively. It did not look like she had encountered something terrible.
Henry sighed in relief and glanced at her before he started to drive.
“You know how to save people?”
“Of course, I have studied medicine for several years, and I am self-taught!”
Whether it was to save lives or formulate drugs, she was a master in both in her previous life. She had always been very low-key about her skills. That was why Wendy had been able to take credit for her efforts. However, that was her previous life, and it seemed like a long time ago.
“You have studied medicine? Why didn’t I know about that?” Henry glanced at her. How old was she? Was she not afraid that someone would laugh at her if she were to say that when she was only 18 years old?
“Well, it’s up to you to decide if you want to believe me.” Emily knew that no one would believe her experiences. She had no intention to explain anyway.
A rebirth? That was impossible! People would only see her as a psychopath. Even if Henry would not despise her, he would probably want her to see a psychologist. Rebirth only appeared in the fantasy.
She leaned back in her seat and closed her eyes. There were so many questions in Henry’s head. She clearly did not look right; her clothes were crumpled, and her hair was messy.
However, she also seemed energetic, so Henry could not decide if she had been in trouble. Nevertheless, he could still sense the sadness in her.
Henry had no chance to ask her anything as Emily started to snore as soon as she closed her eyes. It was past midnight, so it was late, indeed. She said that she had saved an old man earlier on, so her messy appearance must have been due to that. She was always the light that lit up the darkness. She would always lend a hand if she were to see someone in trouble.
A few strands of hair fell onto her face. Henry wanted to tuck her hair behind her ears, but he withdrew his hand before he could reach her face. Would his actions seem overly affectionate? Would it scare her? He retracted his hand and focused on the drive home.

It was one in the morning, and it was time to sleep. However, the Gale family’s door was still opened because of an anxious and impatient old man. The visitor was also from a Gale family, but it was a different Gale family from City L. The Gale family from City L was far different from the Gale family in Bentson. Even though they both carried the surname Gale, there was no relation between the two families.
The Gale family in Bentson was only an ordinary wealthy family; they were not even in the upper-class society in Bentson. The Gale family from City L, on the other hand, was filthy rich. They were among the top four most prominent families in City L, and their visitor was Old Master Gale from City L. He was a formidable and influential man in City L. If he were to stomp his feet in City L, everyone would tremble in fear!
Charles did not know why he would have such a prominent visitor. His Gale family had never had any contact with the Gale family from City L. Kate accompanied Charles downstairs to meet their visitor. After they heard it was Old Master Gale from City L, she was stupefied.
“Charles, have you been working on a big project lately?” Kate repeatedly asked when they were headed downstairs.
Charles, who was busy putting on his tie, shook his head. “No.”
Even if there were a big project, they would not have anything to do with the Gale family from City L. Charles ran a small scale company. It would sound as far-fetched as if his little company had wanted to do business with the Jackson family.
“So… what the hell is going on?”
Kate had been pulled out of bed in the middle of the night. She was extremely sleepy.
“How would I know? Just go downstairs and see!” Charles was perplexed with her questions.
The two people saw their reflections in the large crystal vase at the corner of the stairs. Charles hurriedly tucked his shirt neatly into his pants, but Kate panicked. “I haven’t put on any makeup yet!”
Oh, God! How could she show her bare face in front of such a prominent figure!
“What makeup? They are already waiting! What if we make them wait for too long, and they’re offended?”
As they got closer to downstairs, Charles softened his voice so that the people downstairs would not hear their conversation. Kate did not dare to go back to apply makeup after she heard that. What if they angered their visitors? Would that impact their company?
Old Master Gale and Young Master Gale waited for them in the hall downstairs.
The servants stood at the side, and they trembled as if they were faced with a dreadful enemy. It was not because Old Master Gale was a hard visitor to serve; it was because they were too esteemed!
“Old Master Gale. Hello, Old Master Gale!”
Charles went downstairs and immediately greeted his visitors with respectful bows. Kate hid behind her husband’s back, and she also greeted the visitors enthusiastically.
“Come on, go make the best tea for our guests. Hurry up!”
When he saw the teacups on the coffee table, Charles got even more anxious. “Go fetch the best tea from the cupboard in my room, hurry!”
“Yes, yes!” The butler sprinted upstairs.
Joseph waved his hand and said, “There is no need for that. It’s not appropriate to drink tea at such late hours. Don’t worry about it.”
“Yes, alright!”
Charles dared not insist when he heard that. He looked tense as he stood in front of Old Master Gale and Young Master Gale. He did not even know where he should put his hands.
“Sit down, please. Why are you still standing?” Old Master Gale looked so much friendlier and easier to get along with than Young Master Gale.
Old Master Gale looked at Charles and Kate with a kind smile on his face. “Take a seat!”
The two exchanged looks and sat down opposite him nervously.
Kate secretly poked at Charles’s waist, and he looked at Old Master Gale carefully. “Err… Old Master Gale…”
“I would like to ask if Talia had ever lived here before?”
Talia? Charles and Kate’s eyes met. Why would he mention Talia?
“Err, Talia, she…” Charles glanced at his wife.
A month ago, Kate told him something that scared him so much that he was still unable to accept it. Then, Old Man Gale, a prominent figure in City L, was there to look for Talia?
“Yes, about a dozen years ago.”
The old man’s eyes lit up. Joseph also immediately asked, “Was she already pregnant with a child when she was here? Where is this child now?”
