Chapter 310 A Man Who Resembled the Leader of a Wolf Pack

Three days later, Emily was discharged from the hospital.
The doctor said that she must be well-rested during that period, so Henry allowed her to take a holiday. When it was time for her exams, then she would take them directly.
However, there was no special treatment—she would have to retake the exam if she were to fail them.
“Where’s Hunter?” Emily suddenly panicked when she did not see Hunter.
“He had something to do, so he had to leave first. I’ll take you home.” Henry understood why she was so worried and smiled. “It’s okay, you’ll see him soon.”
Emily did not know what plans they had, but she was relieved as long as she could see Hunter soon. Henry would not lie to her. He had never deceived her.
Ashton was the one who completed all the paperwork needed for her discharge from the hospital. It was uneventful, and Henry did not even help her as she walked, which attracted a lot of criticism.
However, he remained by her side, like the warmest and gentlest suitor.
“Are you doing it on purpose?” Emily narrowed her eyes at him when they got into the car.
“What do you mean?” Henry looked at her. Her eyes were always so gentle, no matter the time and place.
“You’re purposely making it look like we’re a couple in front of everyone else?”
“Can’t help it. Your man has too many enemies.” Henry smiled and let Ashton drive.
The car drove out of the hospital, but instead of the Jackson’s mansion, it went to the dock.
“What’s the meaning of this?” Emily panicked, and she grabbed Henry’s sleeve. “You want to send me away?”
NO! She must not leave! If she were gone, Hunter would definitely head back to Aryastan without any hesitation! Since she was already pregnant, he should think of the child even if he did not care about her! He should not take any risks. He had to be responsible for his child!
“Don’t be so anxious! Eldest Young Master Jackson is on the cruise ship. Why are you panicking?” Henry asked with a smile.
“On a cruise ship?” Emily froze before she looked up to meet his gaze. “You’re not lying to me?”
“Am I really that untrustworthy?” Henry’s face sank, and he stiffened up.
Emily bit her lower lip. It was not that she was unwilling to believe him; she just panicked. She had a feeling that Hunter would still return to Aryastan. Her heart pounded with uneasiness.
Henry got out of the car, went around to her door, and then opened it for her. “Forget it, let’s hurry. You’ll keep worrying if you don’t see him soon.”
Emily did not say anything else. She got out of the car and followed him to the cruise ship.
It was Henry’s cruise ship, and it was under his name. It appeared as though Henry was traveling with his young girlfriend.
Hunter was on the cruise ship, indeed. He did not come out to meet his woman. Instead, he waited for her in the cabin before he embraced her with a hug.
“You don’t want people to know about my relationship with you, right?”
How bright was Emily? After she had some peace of mind, many things had begun to reveal themselves.
“It’s not time to do that yet.” Hunter said as he led her into the room.
“A lot of people are targeting you, but you don’t seem to mind that at all. Hunter, this isn’t your style.”
Did it have something to do with Paradise Island?
“No.” Hunter saw through her thoughts easily, and so he reassured her. “I gave them two plots of land last time. There’s no longer any enmity between Paradise Island and me.”
Emily did not say anything else. Hunter’s words did sound somewhat reasonable. Even though she did not understand Paradise Island’s boss, she knew that they were in it to make money. If they could avoid offending a character like Eldest Young Master Jackson, they would certainly do their best to do that.
Wealth could only grow with harmony.
Why did he need to be so cautious, then? Whether it was her past life or the new one, Hunter had always had many enemies. However, he had never taken any of them seriously.
Why would he convince everyone that she was with Henry, and hid behind all that? Was it all because of her? Emily felt slightly bitter, but she did not know what to say. She could only lean into his embrace with her eyes closed then rested quietly while she had one hand on her stomach.
They would arrive at Henry’s private island soon, but Emily did not expect that they would board another boat in secret during the night. They took advantage of the high moon and the dark wind, and they quietly left Second Young Master Sharp’s island to go to another place.
Even though the wind and waves were small, she still felt a little seasick and vomited several times on the boat. After that, she was asleep during the entire journey.
She was still in a daze, and her entire person felt like she was floating on a cloud. Emily had slumbered deeply, and when she woke up, she found herself on a wide bed. However, there was no one in the room.
“Hunter!” She panicked and immediately sat up.
Her movement might have been too sudden as she felt dizzy, and she almost fell over. Her baby… Emily instinctively covered her stomach with her hand, but fortunately, she did not feel any pain.
The doctor said that the baby’s condition was very unstable. She would have to stay calm while she recovered. She had been too anxious before that, and her entire body felt that too. It was as if she was another person.
She took a deep breath and suddenly despised herself a little more. Her feelings would fluctuate greatly; perhaps it was due to the pregnancy. At the same time, her mood was unstable too.
After she woke up from her sleep, she discovered that she had calmed down significantly.
A quick wash later, Emily walked out of the room and found herself in one of many cabins. She could see only wilderness in front of her, and many men were training there.
All of them wore camo clothing, and they looked sharp and agile in their movements. Whether they were rock climbing, carrying sandbags, or walking on wooden piles, they walked steadily and solidly on the ground!
From a distance, the sheer number of people resembled a huge army.
No! It was more like a pack of wolves!
Yes! Wolves!
Emily could see a wolf’s bloodthirstiness in them!
She walked a few steps forward and finally saw the man that stood out amongst the crowd. Like everyone else, he wore a camo suit too. Even though it was the same outfit, he looked much more dazzling than the rest!
He was the leader of the pack: always high and mighty, as he stood tall between heaven and earth. It was hard not to be in awe of him!
He was her man.
She wanted to make her way to him, but a low voice suddenly echoed from behind her. “What a surprise, you’re actually here.”
“Vincent?” She froze, turned back, and met his cold eyes.
“Do you even know what he went through these past few days?” Vincent snorted coldly. He walked to her side and looked at the figure who stood proudly in the distance.
“Yes, I was the one who pretended to be Eldest Brother. I was the one who said those words to you. But have you ever thought about whether everything I said came from his heart as well?”
“Vincent…” Emily froze, what did he mean by that?
Vincent’s eyes were cold, and his voice was extremely icy!
“You’re a killer, Emily. Did you know that?”
